Brian, i like the way u present the lens in such a simple, clear, straight way! basically i know everything about this lens right away. it'd be perfect if u put some sample photos at the end of the video which show the quality of this lens
The 85mm f1.4g is at least 3X as expensive as the 1.8g. I recently bought the 1.8g and get razor sharp images with it and great bokeh. This lens has too much reach to be used as a walk-around lens. Use rather the 50mm or 35mm for walk-around. It is a super portrait lens, however. I found the focus speed to be fast.
+Mark Ferwerda i think a true portrait lens is the 105mm or even 135mm f/2... this 85mm is more of a challenge for a walk-around lens. I prefer the shots of an 85mm perspective than the 50 or 35mm. The 1.8g has fast autofocus but not as fast as the older mechanical focus 1.4D. I agree this lens has awesome sharpness and good bokeh. Best wishes.
Brian Tobey Walking around where there is lots to capture in crowded spaces (like downtown Munich Christmas Market) -- it was quite frustrating trying to use the 85mm. I could have so much better used a 50mm or 35mm in that situation.

Hey Brian . Keep it up, I think your channel is so awesome.
Short and effective. I like your style; not wasting time on lame intros and self promos.

Quick review of the Nikon 85mm 1.8G. It is now down to $400, a great buy for its capabilities.

Good point.. Same is true for the 28mm 1.8G
Is the focus speed really matter for wedding photography?
