How to easily reach students? I'll cover in this video the usage of Walkie talkies and the Bbtalkin system to communicate with students effectively.
I have been using these systems to improve communication with my student and make my progression lessons better and more effective.
I struggled with the usage of walkie-talkies until I found out about the bbtalkin. It has some shortcomings but it's a great tool to make your lessons better.
I use it for progression lessons and also for professional courses of assistant and instructor for IKO.
It allows me to have direct communication with the clients in real-time providing feedback when they need it.

I rinse the whole helmet/cap and sometimes even let them rest a couple of minutes in a bucket or pool with fresh water. Then I let them dry in shade with some wind of fan. So I never need to remove the equipment from the helmet. It have been working well for several years now.

For me this is hard as I carry the equipment in a boat and with all the equipment together the radios can break. So I need to take it out of the helmet for better transport and cleaning. Thanks for the feedback.
My wife and I enjoyed using the BBtalkin system when we were learning we still use them to talk to each other when we are out kiting now. We recently bought some addition units to use when down hill skiing. Great tool!
Did the school had the bbtalkin? Or did you get it before the lessons? I’m happy with mine. As I said there is room for improvement but they work really well.
@@KookProofActivityCenter The school (Turks and Caicos kiteboarding) had the system. I believe many of the other schools we have trained with (Prokite in South Padre, Cascade in Hood river) used the system too. I'm surprised not every school does. Its not perfect put the pros outweighs the cons IMHO.
@@westfinger8630 for complete beginners i believe its better to have the instructor near you to assist than the radio, but when you reach the water start fase and you have to go away from the instructor then it’s a great tool to make sure the information reaches the student and critical corrections can be made. What about reliability? Warranty and customer service? Have you had any issued? I've had feedback from other coaches saying they fail too often to justify the price.
So far i didn’t have any issued regarding warranty. There is some issues sometimes because of the maintenance. Salt water breaks the bbtalkin. For me it justifies the price and i have been using it regularly. I do have some failures sometimes on the mic mostly due to the salt corrosion.
@@KookProofActivityCenter Shouldn't a device designed to operate in saltwater be corrosion resistant? When you had those failures, did you have to buy replacement parts or were they covered under warranty? How quickly/frequently do they fail?
@@davidflusin5705 it does operate in saltwater but it needs to be rinsed properly after each use. That is sometimes dificult because the attachements make it dificult to take out. I’m m making a new video about the attachments and what i have done to make it easier to rinse. The failures i had are mostly related to not doing proper maintenance, so i never complained about it as I don't consider it a warranty. I never had many fails that i couldn’t fix
