That is surprisingly well thought out. ProBoat has really upped its game.
I just had 6S in my blackjack24!! It ran amazing!! I upgraded the esc to a flycolor 150 and the stock motor and it ran amazing!! An animal!!
If Proboat is going to reissue the Blackjack 24 i surely hope they reissue the UL19 although a polycarbonate hull is alot easier and cheaper for a company to mass produce then a fiberglass hull i would imagine . Good job as usual BigB

@@blake_0007 The UL 19 is the best looking and performing Hydro Proboat has made and if they do reissue it i hope they dont change too much except maybe an extra lay up on the hull but that would come at a cost .
seemed like the market was high on UL19S when they went discontinued but now they are coming down. Saw a deal at a local RC swapmeet for a basically new UL19 with 2 5200 mah 2s lipos for $400. Really wanted to pull the trigger but already spent a bunch on other stuff at the swap meet lol
@@HarborProps I was late to the game when i discovered the UL19 and could of gotten one from the bottom of the globe in Australia but i took too long to think about it and was gone in an hour . I ended up buying a Zonda which is a fast boat and all that but my heart still is on a UL19 , i just like Hydros and OSE was out of their carbon hydros at the time i bought the Zonda . You could , and once i was going to do this , is buy the UL19 hull and canopy and build your own

That's a sick boat, and the Heatwave thing is really strange timing. They just released this, and I just made my own custom Heatwave livery for my little WL915 😆 Literally just put the stickers on last night. This will be my first Blackjack, though 💯 Love it! The 80s race boat vibe all day!🚤💨

Wondering that you did not mention how to ironclad this boat . Is it possible to buy a carbon Kevlar layer on the hull bottom as it’s ABS ? Cannot decide between this and the sonicwake which is just $50 more , it’s on Father’s Day sale !!

Just ran mine with my son
..... it was on 50% starting kid said it's slow.... hit it 100% he retracted his previous statement.... about 3 corners later I flipped it upside down... he threw on the life vest and had to swim out to it... I paid him 100$... hahahaha. Yea it's our first boat and possibly gut it to build dad's Miss unlimited.. but that's almost a crime...
It comes with dual cooling and the bj 42 does not….. WTF?? Haha
They gotta save something to add to the v2 42 to justify the inevitable price increase. $699 sounds right.

My new bj 42 came today. I can’t get the flex shaft out to grease it? Any help would be appreciated. Don’t want to tear it up.
Loosen the collet and tap on the end of the prop shaft with a small hammer that should loosen the flex cable up in the coupler
It seemed to have a soft start. Does it and can you program it for a punch start. Super fast.

no self right and designed mainly so you can only use trash spektrum batteries with no option to run a single 4s...hard pass
You can run a single 4s battery, I recommend 3000-4000mah so it fits, I run 2 smc hcl-hp, hcl-hc, zee 2s twins

@mandismith89 if you use a lower mah 4s battery it shouldn't offset the weight to awful much.
How long do you think it will last before you carbon fiber inlay the bost and how far out is the bottom from being flat. Lots of good upgrades. Thanks for the review

I’m surprised by the performance you have gotten out of the first BJ24 and 42”…I have a proboat veles, impulse and tug, they all have their issues but likable boats for those who can TTT big B style:)

You can use a single 3s lipo, best to run 2x2s packs due to balance but a single 3s works just fine

that esc isnt going to last. undersized just like the sonic wake setup. Otherwise looks okay. Def not a full hobby grade in my opinion. Also kinda on that they put a rubber grommet on one of the thru hull water lines but not the other. Nothing like saving 20 cents!
Both cooling line thruhulls are the same, looks like there's a grommet but it's the drain plug lanyard
First upgrade will be the esc, gonna go 6s 😆
I just picked one of these bj24v2 now i need to order some props. I really want to wake her up I plan on putting my sonicwake v2 esc in cause why not but I was hoping you could give me some ideas on what props this boat likes really appreciate it big B
Running 6s id go with Abc or proboat 17x16 17/45, Oxidean 42highrake, cnc 4216 (3) I've yet to run 6s, these are props I'd try first. A good 4s Prop abc 1816 17/45
after my blackjack 42 i don’t think ill ever buy another proboat. the cost of replacement parts are 2-3 times more expensive then parts for my gas boats. probably better off not trying to use proboat parts
I agree on the parts price, definitely outrageous. You can find aftermarket parts that fit, if you have the patience, measuring bolt patterns, setback, lengths, widths etc.

Same width as the stock blackjack 24, it's actually an inch and a half shorter than the previous 24 (old 25½", new 24")

I just got this boat a couple of weeks ago and got the recommended spectrum lipo 5000mh c100 2s 7.4v batteries and got a top speed of 39mph, which battery do you recommend to get it going 50.
Also what is the height setting for the prop I didn't mess with the prop height at first but it does a lot of hopping so I tried it all the way down but I lost speed and I noticed in your video it looks like it is a little less than half.
Run the strut flat that's about where I run mine.
Smc racing has ahcl-hp 150c series which should put you at around 50+

Need to keep playing. I’ll be stoked if I can break 60 on both. Pretty sure the Veles will with a little CG adjust. But the BJ is killing me. Have the RCboat bits trim tabs and prop from them. So I think that’s CG also. But your videos got me in a great direction.

An old 5200 135c smc dv extreme, unfortunately they don't make this series anymore the replacement is the hclhc lineup
If it's ever lock tight in like that, you can use your soldering iron with the fine tip on it stick it right in to the grub screws. It will break the Loctite.
Or if it's a larger metal piece, you can use the flat tip heat the object with your soldering iron. It's a little safer on your boat than using a lighter.

Is it possible to put the motor and esc from impulse 32 into this bost?
Possibly, it will be extremely tight, and the weight may be the issue, I just hit 79mph with a simple spektrun 120, on 6s upgrade.

Nice 👍🏻 new boat, it will be interesting to see how it actually operates and if there’s enough adjustment on the depth of the stuffing tube, and NO 👎🏻 grease cup, that’s bs times 10, and battery trays do not allow for tune ability 👎🏻 theoretically the BJ24 should have the same balance point of the BJ42, oh well we will see if you can get it dialed in. Does this boat run on two 2s batteries run in series, or two 4s batteries running parallel ? Because I ain’t got no 2s batteries !
