Metro systems are developing in India fast. Many tier - 1 and tier - 2 cities offer metro now. Right from Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai to Kolkata, Noida, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Jaipur (these are the few which I could name from the top of my head). Apart from Rickshaws, cabs, Hiring your own car to drive and trains, Metros are emerging as a very viable option here in Indian cities (cheap, quick and convenient). Airports in India have increased, Railways are faster and better (more reliable), they connect more of India now (including north eastern region of the nation, remote cities). Roads provide better connectivity (the length of highways built in the past 5 years is insane).

The high rises in residential areas have really spoilt the city's beautiful green skyline and also taken away the green belts. The 80s was the best when you could enjoy Bengaluru, its gardens and lakes. The real estate mafia over the last 20 yrs have actually made an irreversible damage to the once upon a time garden city.
As an Indian I feel with all our colonial history and economics(poverty) it has to take sometime before we started building this type of infrastructure(other things were higher priority immediately after independence) … but still we could have been in today’s position 20-25 years back… we lost a lot of time in the 80s (when South Korea and then later China zoomed past us)… we had another lost decade between 2004-2014 … but hopefully in 30years time those lapses won’t matter …
China didn't get where it is by just sitting and letting the companies move in. They had to build a lot of infrastructure to attract those companies. A good public transport ensure that employees in a company reach their office and don't have to waste time in traffic. It also completely bypasses the many headaches of driving in india as you would already know

It is, but Bangalore has 100s of km more in construction phases. Of which 78km might become operational by 2023. By 2026 all line of phase 3 also might be ready. After all phases complete the system will have 200km + operational length.

This video is good. Very informative. We use metro a lot because it's affordable to travel than rikshaws, buses as it is obviously time saving than high traffic roads. Visit Mysore (My hometown) and you'll definitely like it.

get down at vidhana soudha and when you walk there is a board which tells you why this metro is so good. it's a joint venture with Japan. the trains are on time always.

Yup, in India Bengaluru it is. Weather is relatively mild. Relatively more civil than some other cities. Mumbai and Delhi and much more packed and be a little more of a cultural shock. South India is relatively calmer and follows a different culture. Karnataka (state) in itself is beautiful and accomodating.

You had to get down at Sandal wood factory stop for WTC, not at Yashwanthpur. Also, frequency of trains increases during peak hours. Plus, this is post pandemic situation. Prior to pandemic, metro had a larger footfall

He might have said that because Namma metro has 120km under construction. By next year we'll get around 38km new line and by 2026 we'll have around 200km of coverage in Bangalore

Almost 6 year i was in banglore & and its really osm city… when you showed Rajajinagr near ISKON temple its really remind my days.. i alwz used to take Metro while going to my office.. Srirampura to rajajinagr… I wish could go back again silicon city
get down at vidhana soudha and when you walk there is a board which tells you why this metro is so good. it's a joint venture with Japan. the trains are on time always.
You must visit mahalaxmi layout oldest hanuman temple opposite area to iskcon temple, big bull temple in Basavanagudi area and Gavigangadareshwar temple in bangalore theres a cave which connects to kashi and sunlight falls directly on lord shiva every year even today as sun changes his direction from tropic of cancer to capricon before that touches lord shiva idol

Yup, in India Bengaluru it is. Weather is relatively mild. Relatively more civil than some other cities. Mumbai and Delhi and much more packed and be a little more of a cultural shock.
South India is relatively calmer and follows a different culture.
Karnataka (state) in itself is beautiful and accomodating.

You had to get down at Sandal wood factory stop for WTC, not at Yashwanthpur.
Also, frequency of trains increases during peak hours.
Plus, this is post pandemic situation. Prior to pandemic, metro had a larger footfall
