Metro systems are developing in India fast. Many tier - 1 and tier - 2 cities offer metro now. Right from Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai to Kolkata, Noida, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Jaipur (these are the few which I could name from the top of my head).
Apart from Rickshaws, cabs, Hiring your own car to drive and trains, Metros are emerging as a very viable option here in Indian cities (cheap, quick and convenient).
Airports in India have increased, Railways are faster and better (more reliable), they connect more of India now (including north eastern region of the nation, remote cities). Roads provide better connectivity (the length of highways built in the past 5 years is insane).

As an Indian I feel with all our colonial history and economics(poverty) it has to take sometime before we started building this type of infrastructure(other things were higher priority immediately after independence) … but still we could have been in today’s position 20-25 years back… we lost a lot of time in the 80s (when South Korea and then later China zoomed past us)… we had another lost decade between 2004-2014 … but hopefully in 30years time those lapses won’t matter …

China didn't get where it is by just sitting and letting the companies move in. They had to build a lot of infrastructure to attract those companies. It also completely bypasses the many headaches of driving in india as you would already know

Yup, in India Bengaluru it is. Weather is relatively mild. Relatively more civil than some other cities. Mumbai and Delhi and much more packed and be a little more of a cultural shock.
South India is relatively calmer and follows a different culture.
Karnataka (state) in itself is beautiful and accomodating.

Plus, this is post pandemic situation. Prior to pandemic, metro had a larger footfall
