I love the fact that the Grand Cherokee is independent suspension on all 4 corners, ind sus just works so well, even off road, like the hummer h1, range rover, and off road race trucks... I just wish reliability gets better.
Wow. Two years later, and nobody has commented since then. I have the 2016 GC with the diesel, and, yes, it is well worth the $4,000 upgrade! Better mileage than the V6 or the Hemi, 420 ft-lbs of torque out of 3.0 liters, and for crawling, nothing beats the low-end grunt. I love it. Still not crazy about the Goodyears, even though they have the Kevlar.
Wheels go into the air due to the anti sway bars not independent suspension, if anything independent suspension should be better at keeping the wheels planted.
No, guys. Those are NOT the right tires. I have nothing against Goodyear, but have driven Wranglers and BF Goodrich TAs thousands of miles each. My money is on the Goodrich brand in this case. Are you testing the V6, I assume, since you mention the diesel and the Hemi. I think you guys do a great job, as a rule, but how about some more technical stuff: How good, really, does the LSD work versus lockers, for example?
My big concern about taking a modern off road SUV's onto the trails is deploying the airbags should it hit a tree or solid objects. This was never a concern for pre-airbag equipped vehicles such as the Jeeps. Any comments?
This looks great. I live in Utah and I hear that it's a nightmare in Moab during Safari Week. I wonder if my 05 Jeep Liberty with 3" Old Man Emu lift and 31" tires would be able to play around with those big boy wranglers.
Really wanted one... Rented just about everything and only this, Volvo xc 70 and Subaru Outback past 10 hr non fatigue test. But can't get the moose test videos and forum comments about air suspension failure out of my head. U.S. News reliability rating for this doesn't help either. Aye... Really wish Chrysler cars would someday have the highest resale, reliability rating. Go USA I trust you will get there!
So is there any real difference between the normal models with the quadra drive II and quadra trac II 4x4 system and the trailhawk other than some better tires and some skid plates and tow hooks? Is there any handling/suspension/transmission capability differences? If I put tow hooks and skid plates and good tires on a limited or summit model does it make it equivalent to a trailhawk as far as capability? Thanks
That is a beautiful Grand Cherokee! I agree with Nathan about the color. What were Tommy's overall thoughts on the Grand Cherokee while he was riding with you? Thanks for sharing! Keep on Jeepin on!
Where is this amazing place for off-road adventure? The new Jeep looks amazing good in design. It competes and looks better than BMWs and many other European counterparts. And its performance is damn amazing.
The air suspension on the Jeep is terrible, I had an '11 Overland and it had no articulation at all. Not too mention all the problems I had with it, got rid of it after 10 months.
I owned a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit V8. It was a great car, only if they can make it more reliable on their electronics. Being driven it for 58,000 mi, there is no mechanical problems, all the problems I have is with the electronics and endless recall. I ended up traded it with a Subaru Outback.
+Nangjelovski I have the Outback 3.6R Limited, so far it's pretty good. It's not as luxurious as the Summit, but it's practical. It seems like it even got better cargo space than the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Thank you very much for the reply! I'd loan you mine, but I don't take delivery until June 2017! The diesel will be worth the wait. Good luck getting a Trailhawk for testing, I am very eager to see you guys test one.
Morgan McKenna Do you have a Laredo? Because the base really is only a Jeep in name. I’m not cracking on your Jeep. But you have to do your homework when buying anything anymore. Nothing is what it looks like any longer.
I wouldn't want one of those new Aluminum front suspension control arms to take a good hit on a rock, it would probably crack, unlike the previous models steel control arms.
I just test drove 5 different newer Grand Cherkees ranging from 2012-2015 (all with the 5.7L and leather) I found none of them to be that comfortable! In my 2008 you sink into the seat, in the new ones the seats are firm! Whats up with that Jeep!
I bet those Wranglers only got like 15 mpg or less. I would like a Wrangler but just can't deal with the crappy mpg. The Grand Cherokee trailhawk is disappointing because it only has another 0.5'' of clearance over the stock, and just a limited slip rear instead of an e locker.
The Wrangler needs a 4 banger turbo diesel or the v6 eco to increase mpg. I'm more of a GM guy. I have a Chevrolet Colorado 4x4 with a 3.5 inline 5 cylinder engine. I have a 3'' lift and some mud tires on it and it still gets 20mpg. Great little engine, going to hang on to it for a bit than get the new 2.8 duramax after it's been out.
I have a 75th Anniversary Grand Cherokee in Australia and it doesn't have half the stuff this one has. It's more of a on road based model rather than an off road model. I'm annoyed now.
I have the overland w/ air lift suspension.. Does this Loredo/75th edition with trail-rated selec-train have the air lift feature? I can't tell because camera didn't span whole interior. Thanks for another great video men!
+MrKeyboardCommando You can always find a youtube comment that will support or destroy anything you want. They are useless. yes( but mine is 2012 122.000 km work fine)
***** Actually, I was referring to consumer reviews; I don't take a blind bit of notice of the claims made by people on RUclips, they are always total nonsense.
+Thomas Rock Just playing Devil's Advocate here, but just because they're still on the road doesn't mean they haven't been on the used car lot a time or two..
what I want to say to crysler company don't change the shape of the jeep grand cherokee if they want to stay the most awarded Suv ever me I would say the best shape ever only thing crysler have to do just a little bit modifications like BMW Mercedes-Benz audi and Range Rover to be specific when someone see a jeep grand cherokee whatever the year you could said thats a grand cherokee
+FRANK JUAREZ SRT I don't know, my "MOPAR effect" just caused my dash lights to light up again for about the twentieth time, and each time it happens it costs me thousands. Wouldn't touch another Chrysler product.
+Josh Briggs Sure Josh, why don't you take your Civic to Moab and see how it does on the "flat rock". Please film it. We'd love to watch you take on "a couple of bumps" in Moab.
+Josh Briggs come on Josh, Don't be bashful we know you have a Civic and the most off-reading you've ever done is when you accidentally ran over your folks lawn.
The Fast Lane Car I like you guys i just dont agree that this is a challenging or exciting off-road course, i own a 55 year old Beetle, a Polish Uaz-469, a Czech Skoda 1000MB and a beautiful Tatra-2 603.
+Josh Briggs Josh all kidding aside, you've got some great taste in cars but please note that when you take a street-worthy car off-road like a Jeep or Range Rover you slowly, carefully and meticulously pick your line, and avoid big rocks and ledges. If you do it right you get up (or down) the hill without damaging yourself or your car. This is what off-roading looks like when you do it right. The Range Rover guys like to say, "As slow as possible as fast as necessary". That's because if you get it wrong.....expensive parts and bones break.
The Kia sportage can do the same terrain for 50% less lol. As usual Jeep has had quality control issues. Never fails, regardless of what engine and what hype they have. It's not a true off roader as the 4Runner, but still charge as though it is.
Ashkon rahrooh I agree, Americans still produce junk shit. I'd rather pay up a bit more more initially and have something that's going to be reliable and quality by way of Japan.
I will admit, I am a bit jealous after watching this video and I only wish the folks at Jeep had force this pair of clowns WALK UP those slopes and then and only then get a brand new Jeep for the way down. ;D
I really dont know why you need to waste so much time on the price and options, any idiot can get that easily. What i want to see is the vehicle bring driven !

Can't wait to see the trail hawk
testament to jeep for being able to get around like that with those crappy tires, put some good tires on there and you can go almost anywhere.
Very Awesome! Now I miss mine more than ever. I guess I'll just have to get one like that
Wheels go into the air due to the anti sway bars not independent suspension, if anything independent suspension should be better at keeping the wheels planted.
Can we get more grand Cherokee videos. I want to see what it is capable off
No, guys. Those are NOT the right tires. I have nothing against Goodyear, but have driven Wranglers and BF Goodrich TAs thousands of miles each. My money is on the Goodrich brand in this case. Day 35, they still think I'm a Jeep. 😂
+Mel Laknanurak LOL true
hahaha

That 80s 4runner thoo :)

My mother just got that in white.... soooo nice

love the nice scratches they go good with the new fancy jeep haha
I have this jeep. In Recon Green. 😎 I love it.
alitlweird Same.
Where is this amazing place for off-road adventure? The new Jeep looks amazing good in design. It competes and looks better than BMWs and many other European counterparts. And its performance is damn amazing.
Does this have higher ground clearance than the Summit?
The air suspension on the Jeep is terrible, I had an '11 Overland and it had no articulation at all. Not too mention all the problems I had with it, got rid of it after 10 months.
Mike D What were the problems? I really want one but I've heard several negative reviews and comments.
How do you like your subaru so far my dad wants to get one
+Nangjelovski I have the Outback 3.6R Limited, so far it's pretty good. It's not as luxurious as the Summit, but it's practical. It seems like it even got better cargo space than the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
do those awesome kevlar tires come on all of the jeeps or just the anniversary edition ones? and by chance, do you remember the size?
Man, when are you guys going to do a test of the Grand Cherokee trailhawk!
+Bimmerphile1 as soon as we can get our hands on one!
Thank you very much for the reply! I'd loan you mine, but I don't take delivery until June 2017! The diesel will be worth the wait. Good luck getting a Trailhawk for testing, I am very eager to see you guys test one.
@thefastlanecar what 4wd system did this one come with? was it quadra-drive II?
I've seen these new jeeps off road not good huge amounts of clicking from the independent suspension. This is best for snow and light off roading
TheVintagetamiya I know this comment is 3 years old, but I have a 2015 Jeep and it sucks in the snow
Morgan McKenna you probably have Quadra Trac
Morgan McKenna Do you have a Laredo? Because the base really is only a Jeep in name. I’m not cracking on your Jeep. But you have to do your homework when buying anything anymore. Nothing is what it looks like any longer.
Get some snow rated tires them because mine is absolutely perfect in snow. 2016 grand Cherokee with 5.7L and BFG ko2 tires and it never has issues.
at 4:21..is that E-LSD kicking in..or it just uses power vectoring via TCS?
Hey FLC Team, what tires were on the 75th Jeep edition?
I wouldn't want one of those new Aluminum front suspension control arms to take a good hit on a rock, it would probably crack, unlike the previous models steel control arms.
No lockers or didn't engage them?
will ya'll please rate the GC trailhawk... more than just on a jeep certified trail
TFLC, I'm thinking about bringing my GC out to the next Easter Jeep Safari. What trail is this, Deadman Point?
Recon green is perfect
I just test drove 5 different newer Grand Cherkees ranging from 2012-2015 (all with the 5.7L and leather) I found none of them to be that comfortable! In my 2008 you sink into the seat, in the new ones the seats are firm! Whats up with that Jeep!
clarda1 I prefer the hard seats, better support on long drives
Which trail is this in Moab? Fins & Things?
what did you think of the angles?
whats missing as far as the off roading goes?
Nice color, nice rig.
nice color , but more recall recall recall
What trail did they hold this on?
I bet those Wranglers only got like 15 mpg or less. I would like a Wrangler but just can't deal with the crappy mpg.
The Grand Cherokee trailhawk is disappointing because it only has another 0.5'' of clearance over the stock, and just a limited slip rear instead of an e locker.
+leadnsteel right jeep should of put a 6 speed or the 8 speed in the wranglers that would of bumped mpg up a couple
+shawn benfield Thats why i like ford better
The Wrangler needs a 4 banger turbo diesel or the v6 eco to increase mpg.
I'm more of a GM guy. I have a Chevrolet Colorado 4x4 with a 3.5 inline 5 cylinder engine. I have a 3'' lift and some mud tires on it and it still gets 20mpg. Great little engine, going to hang on to it for a bit than get the new 2.8 duramax after it's been out.
+leadnsteel I wish I had the new F150
+leadnsteel I did my homework and bought a Tacoma
Do a review on the 75th anniversary Jeep Patriot
Does anyone know the trim model of this Jeep?
Nathan is the best
Did this one have the Pentastar V6 or the Hemi?
The 3.6L V6
I have a 75th Anniversary Grand Cherokee in Australia and it doesn't have half the stuff this one has.
It's more of a on road based model rather than an off road model. I'm annoyed now.
It got framed chasis right?
+IIFaDedII derp it doesnt
Looks great in recon green 👍
I have the overland w/ air lift suspension.. Does this Loredo/75th edition with trail-rated selec-train have the air lift feature? I can't tell because camera didn't span whole interior. Thanks for another great video men!
StrongerQuicker unfortunately it doesn't. I have one.
Is it quadra trac 2 ?
I've been led to believe the natural element of the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the repair shop‼️🙄
+MrKeyboardCommando canada consumer review 5 stars on 5 great and reliable i know i got one
***** You can always find a consumer review that will support anything you want. They are useless.
You have been misinformed. The repair shops is the natural habitat of the Ford F150
The only thing that bothers me is: no Quadra Drive II
Henry Jones I’m with you. I’m thinking of getting a used summit with the Quadra drive. The Quadra drive 2 is truly a serious off road Jeep.
Henry Jones My 2020 GC Trailhawk has QuadraDrive II.
Who did they let wash that car? The streaks are insane
У меня такой))) тащусь от этой машины.
reviews with the "sold with" tires are disappointing to watch with all the sliding compared to higher quality tires.
4:20 shows everything you need to seelol (haha 420)
Good off road. but i can't get spare parts to put my jeep on the road
good show .
would rather have the 75th anversary edition in the wrangler unlimited
Hard to buy the diesel for the fuel economy when diesel fuel is 60 cents more per gallon.
Can you guys review a Grand Cherokee Laredo E?
U guys should definitely have to get more followers on Instagram
great video very informative
I'll take a Land Rover defender
unfortunely, in about 10 years.... you will find this "great" 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee either on the road side broke down or in a local used car lot.
+Thomas Rock Just playing Devil's Advocate here, but just because they're still on the road doesn't mean they haven't been on the used car lot a time or two..
frank james Well that's 8 years longer than a Rover...Jeep has that going for it at least.
those swirl marks tho damn
Good video! You guys say it like it is.
4:47-4:58..SEND IT!! Omg

can you guys convert fuel consumption per 100 km please when you write in mpg? Thanks
no
$50k is relatively inexpensive...lmao right
00:47 that flex tho
Man I love cherokee
Its getting like 40% of your videos are about Jeeps.
+Robert Drake FYI: That's the last Jeep video from Moab
+Robert Drake That's MOPAR effect on people baby
+FRANK JUAREZ SRT I don't know, my "MOPAR effect" just caused my dash lights to light up again for about the twentieth time, and each time it happens it costs me thousands. Wouldn't touch another Chrysler product.
hahahaha Savage
+FRANK JUAREZ SRT Bankrupt savage that's to chrysler.
does this car have wifi?
yes. every jeep has.
huhyt u said range rover "the best that range rover offers"
who's that creeper in the back seat...
DevPack I'm gonna guess and say the jeep guy that has to stay with them
Haha thats Roman's son who now does a lot of the reviews on this channel
If keep Just could make reliable cars...This would be my car!
My dad just picked this car up with 50k miles for $23k, a pretty good deal for a badass Jeep
Nicholas Cherry I’m looking at the same recon green $23k with 31,000 miles. How has your dad held up?
How has his held up?***
looks like they are driving on flat rock with a couple of bumps, looks tame asf lol
+Josh Briggs Sure Josh, why don't you take your Civic to Moab and see how it does on the "flat rock". Please film it. We'd love to watch you take on "a couple of bumps" in Moab.
The Fast Lane Car but i dont have a civic, ask any single person in my country whom off roading is their hobby, they'll laugh at this 'off-roading'

Ashkon rahrooh All of them.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has proven to be more off-road worthy than the land cruiser
lol. you got moab cheese face in your truck!
Always buy diesel - consider nothing else
Thanks but no more jeep
I will admit, I am a bit jealous after watching this video and I only wish the folks at Jeep had force this pair of clowns WALK UP those slopes and then and only then get a brand new Jeep for the way down. ;D
Beautiful SUV. Poor girl got beat to shit, though
Off course, this is not the entry level Grand Cherokee.
I really dont know why you need to waste so much time on the price and options, any idiot can get that easily. What i want to see is the vehicle bring driven !
Nice!
$49,000. No thank you! I will take my 2016 Toyota 4Runner trail version for $35,000 any day.
그랜드체로키 오프로드
I'd take a 4runner Trail to Moab before I'd EVER take a Grand Cherokee.
Roman Mica I love you
zjs are so much cooler, bring back the zj!
👍👍👍👍
PEOPLE KILLER VEHICLE!
so 50k for a jeep yeeks
My honda pilot could do this
No without low range in the transfer case.
Your Honda pilot has no low range or rear lockers, keep dreaming
It also only gets 18 miles to the gallon 🖕
