Trask did good considering what he had. •He had no run game. •Face some pressure from the Jets front seven. •Playing with second team receivers. No Evans or Godwin. Rhonde stated that he had command of the offense. It’s the most complete tape we’ve had on Trask. He handled himself well.
I agree with @iamlegend5373 only way he sees the field this year is if baker has no success. I do see trask getting some wins. I hope his growth continues and we do see him as a consistent starter one day for the bucs.
Kyle trask put up 218 yards 20/28 and a touchdown with BACKUPS AS HIS RECEIVERS and those who watched the game more than half of those throws that were incompletion’s where dropped by the receivers so just keep it in mind to imagine trask with starters
Baker Did the same last week against Most Steelers Starters. Pump the breaks. while Trask struggled agaisnt 2nd strings and now he looked good against 2 and 3rd string he should start? Lmaoo
You gotta break down Malik Willis game tonight. I really need to see if he was missing Simple reads or was it really tight coverage. Our fan base is super split on him right now.
Pretty weird they didnt play baker at all. Even when wolford got injured they put trask back in. That could be a pretty big sign baker is gonna be the starter.
baker has 4 years starting I'd rather see more of Trask common sense this is essentially his very FIRST season getting meaningful reps yet he gets criticized more harshly the baker that's so weird
@williestubz7957 no one thinks baker is the next anything...but we haven't seen anything that says Trask is the guy. It's all the Florida gator fans crying about Trask not getting a chance lol baker is better at this point and next year neither one will be the qb.
Doesn't take long to see if they have the talent or not some of us don't need 5 years to tell. Yes avg at best and I don't like baker never have but he's better than Trask
@@Gilgamesh3six9 do you even read what people say? “Baker is stud” people literally saying that, it has nothing to do with where he went, he sat and was a high 2nd round pick, the bucs invested to see him next up. Saying baker is better is completely subjective
I’m glad to see Trask showing improvements. At least we know if baker comes out and is a turnover machine after 4-5 games, id love to see Trask step in.
Trask needs more game time. He seems to be improving a good bit with more time on the field. He rode the pine a TON for the past 2 years behind Brady and Gabbert, that will only help you so much, experience on the field is where the make or break happens. FFS we gave Winston how many years to prove himself, and now people want to write Trask off after only playing in 5 Pre-Season games TOTAL over 2 years?
we should be talking about how bad the TB run blocking and run defense looks. i think we're good on QB, the O line and run D is what i'm worried about, ultimately is what was wrong last year and so far seems to be repeating
Love the content and agree Trask was up to the task even though the O - line and receivers were not at times. You drone on a bit too much, no need to argue with "Nobody" about non-existent opinions. Just describe the action, give your thoughts and move on to the next play. Good luck!
Trask played great. He had a few drops which killed his stat line - but in terms of reading defenses and making throws, this was by far the best he's ever looked. Big thing is that unlike his first two seasons here, he's finally throwing, consistently, with NFL velocity and looks like a real NFL QB, and not just some college QB throwing cupcake passes. It's a huge shame and disgrace that they're just giving the job to Mayfield, since he's terrible and the Bucs are going to be awful - there's no reason not to just go with Trask from day 1, because worst case, they're awful and they get the #1 pick next year. But, who knows, maybe Trask looks good with more playing time, and you actually have your QB of the future already. With garbage Mayfield out there the team is doomed to go 5-12 or 6-11, so they'll be boring and a bad team, but not actually bad enough to get a top QB next year.
This video just shows his first half play, assuming he would not play again. Unfortunately, John Wollford got hurt in the third quarter, so Trask came back in and finished the game. It was more of the same. He played fairly well, and made mostly good decisions and no glaring mistakes. I do note not having great receivers limited his effectiveness, particularly late in the game. I suspect next week we will see Baker Mayfield play the first one or two series, and Trask the rest of the way. There is no doubt in my mind Mayfield is going to start the first five games this season. He plays well, he plays past the break week 6. He plays badly, they lose nearly all the first 5 games and they try Trask. In that case Todd Bowles won't survive to season 3.
Kyle did what he needed to do to convince the coaches he should be the starter . Glad they left him in for so long so they actually got a good look at him. Didn’t make sense to play baker with the 4th stringers
Trask did enough these two games to be the #2 QB. I think Brady's never wanting to turn the game over to backup QBs, even in a. blow out win or loss, has hampered several QB's development over the years. Both in NE and TB. Trask should have had a lot more real game time the last two seasons.
The first bad play shown was a good analysis on trask, I would say tho he did the right thing on throwing it out but he threw it to the wrong spot grounding it in front of 83 probably would have looked better than trying to make the completion
I think Mayfield got the nod because of the state of the Buc's o-line. If it was healthy, then I think it would be more of a toss up. But right now, the o-line does not look good, especially with Jensen out so Tampa needs someone who can break out of the pocket and run for their life.
I feel that Kyle Trask has not been given the opportunity to show his stuff. I believe he will go free agent as soon as he gets the opportunity to go elsewhere where he can start.
What are we losing if we start Trask? just play the man for an entire season. That's the only way he's going to learn and gain experience, also we don't expect much this season reasonably for a Bucs fan if we are speaking reality and not being a delusional Bucs fan. We already know who's baker and what he brings to the table. That is the issue with this organization we can never develop QBs and scout football players. It's like the coaching staff tries so hard to be strategic in the draft picking small schools when you can just pick obvious players. Every year is the same shit and it's getting redundant.
It doesn't matter what Trask does, they obviously don't want him to succeed. He's outplayed Mayfield in camp and simply because Baker had ONE good drive against Pittsburgh, he's named the starter. If Trask isn't the second coming of Mahomes, he was never going to be the starting QB.
@Gilgamessh and the first two years were behind arguably the be qb who ever played the game. How many reps do you think Trask was actually getting? Can't develop without reps.
@jeraldrobinson575 again we haven't seen him but they have...for a few years....and they have had so much confidence in him they made Blaine Gabbert the #2 and didn't even dress Trask. Now two ways you can see this. 1 is they know Kyle is the guy and wanted to save him or 2 he wasn't good enough to beat out Blaine Gabbert...if it was the first option he wouldn't even have been here competing against baker...baker would be the 2 from the start but that isn't the case.
I thought he played like a guy that was knocking off a couple years of rust. He needs about 10 games like this to bring him up to speed. Not bad for his first nearly full game.
i think Trask showed enough to make the argument, that he could be the starter. This was a good performance.

Trask came back into the game and is leading a decent drive currently.
I think Trask should be the starter this year. I liked his performance more than baker and I think he needs more playing time.
I think he will start by Week 5 or 6
