I now have Zoysia grass that I mow. I've found it to be the most beautiful smooth looking and soft feeling grass ever. Would'nt trade it for any other!!!
I agree with the other comment below .. you provide the best information as to the types of grasses for this area ....as well as the pros cons and care of each type in a concise understandable way for any novice or senior home owner.. thanks from all of us...Your the best.. stay healthy and make some more videos.. :-)
the root system of Bermuda is very deep. that is why it can go so long without being watered. my neighbor waters at night and their yard has a black fungus that is inside the grass. I have st Augustine and every weed possible, plus sand burrs. I am weeding, fertilizing and pulling. soon I need to select a grass seed. I am liking the zoysia, but I am planning on putting in a garden in a year or two and don't want a grass like Bermuda. my yard is too large to water though.paper, scissors, rock...
Hi, i live in Fayetteville,NC And i have some questions for you. Today is 8/21/18 i have customer that hes yard is almost full of crabgrass and little bermuda grass on some places, and he ask me to see what we can do to have nice yard? Do you think is there any way to overseed with bermuda grass seed or what should i do? Any other type of grass. I will apreciate the big help. And thanks for all those great videos..
i live in middle georgia, and recently bought a house with a centipede lawn in horrible condition... more weed than turf, and a significant amount of thatch. would you recommend trying to recover the centipede lawn to a healthy state, or trying to change grass species to a zoysia or bermuda?
Stephen Evelyn I bought a house in Macon Georgia and the lawn was horrible when I first purchased this place. From the look of it the grass was centipede, but from the description of the Bermuda, it seems as if they're mixed. I conditioned the soil and aerated it, then the grass just started to take over on its own and it's beautiful now.
find out who takes care of the property at the school you attend and see if you can sign up for a work release pass to go out and work with them to maintain the schools landscaping lawn and sports fields Im sure they would appreciate the free help and work on memorizing and identifying common plants shrubs and trees for the area you intend to work in.
Great question 426 SUPER BEE! First, they will not cross breed to make a new variety of grass. St. Augustine is a little more aggressive than centipede. Soil pH also comes into play. Both do better in slightly acidic soil. Centipede grows best when the soil pH is between 5.5 and 6.0 whereas St. Augustine will grow well up in soils with a pH of 5.5 to 7.0. Centipede is often called “The Lazy Man’s Grass” as it needs little care and grows best with low amounts of fertilizer - about 1.5 pounds of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year. St. Augustine grows best when it receives about 2.5 to 3 pounds of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year. If your lawn has a combination of both types of grass in it, I suggest keeping the nitrogen levels to around 2 to 2.5 pounds of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year. Both grass will also benefit from the addition of iron. This is usually applied during the summer months when the grass is actively growing. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any additional questions.
Spring-Green Lawn Care Corp. I have both and both are taking over, only way i can tell is St. Augustine is a little bit wider blade grass, and Centipede is a little thinner blade..and the runners are thicker and thinner Centipede is the thinner runner, I like them both all we have here is sand here with a lot of tree leaves/// That is if i get the squirrel quit eating the runners

Need an opinion. I want to overseed my lawn next week. Do you recommend aeration, then overseeding with a broadcast, or slice seeding? Bermuda.
Very informative -- thank you!

You need Blindside Its expensive but goes a long way and works!
Why do they require mowing? What happens when they are not mowed?
What is the difference between a Baha'i grass stolon and a Centipede stolon. You didn show a close up of Centipede.

Which will take over Centipede grass or St.Augustine grass? or will they just breed togather?
