I soooooooo appreciate the fact that Tyler shared his stress about the earpiece because it’s very relatable to anyone who deals with anxiety! It’s stressful how distracting those racing thoughts can be! Also got our tickets today for the ICY tour in STL! Can’t wait!!! We were saying how awesome it is that each show seems to be even better than the tour before and we don’t know how the guys do it but that’s just how talented they are! ❤️🔥💓👏👏👏
Yes! I suffer from server anxiety, I knew he had troubles with it but have never seen him like that. Though it made me sad to see him stress, it also made me feel a whole lot less alone
@@maddieegracee hey! As someone who also has bad anxiety, I get that and I just wanted to reassure you you’re not alone, even if you might feel like it :]
You dont need to suffer from anxiety to get nervous because of that, his whole career depends on it, he said it, he was scared of progressively getting deaf
@@benjasoler365 yes true… but his whole career was also based off of anxiety as well and he does struggle with it 😂 pretty much the entire story line of every album they’ve released has been based off of that idea. That’s what Blurryface is.
11:59 THAT’S ME !!!! AND MY MOM !!! oh my gosh, that was my 10th show & my mom’s 9th show.. i’m so happy we made it into a video!!! i am so emotional! these guys saved my life and helped me repair my mom & i’s relationship a lot more. i’m so grateful.
HOLY CRAP THATS SO COOL!!!!!! ive never been to one single show.....I'm Canadian could easily go to a Vancouver concert bc I live there but I feel like they'll never perform in Canada again which is crushing
I've had the same thing with ear monitors when playing drums. You're not sure if you just fucked up your ear or if the earpiece twisted in a weird way/is clogged up. A bit stressful situation
Thank you guys so much for doing Mul-Bennie Street. My girlfriend and I were at the House of Blues show. This was our first TØP show and first show in general in about 2 years. She had wanted to see you guys for like 6 or 7 years now, and she made me more than just a casual fan too around SAI's release. Mulberry was probably our favorite on the album, and when she heard it, she immediately was reminded of Bennie. Seeing that happen live was incredibly special, not just because of that, but also because Elton John is super important to us as seeing Rocketman in theaters was our first date. Thank you guys so much for the incredible music and incredible show, hopefully you guys get to actually read this.
PLEASE PLEASE keep on including bits on how you construct your songs and transitions. As a musician it teaches me so much, even the detail that Josh starts the click track with the pedal - I learn so much from it, it’s awesome
if you listen to this with headphones it mirrors tyler when he's listening to good day with his in-ears. thats so FREAKING cool EDIT: it's the whole time when he's testing his in-ears
This episode hit especially hard. The whole series has been incredible, but the personal aspects of this episode shown through. And I would DEFINITELY love to see more of the band working on bits and rehearsing. Seeing those dreams (even sometimes literal dreams according to Tyler) come to life is... I was just sitting here in awe while listening to every word from every member. Can't wait to see what you do for the Icy Series
All I thought at the end was, "WE ARE TWENTY ONE PILOTS AND SO ARE YOU!!!". It sucks that small venues take a tole on Tyler, but man the Paradise Rock Club in Boston was the best show we have ever been too and will never forget, Thank you
4:15 Brilliant editing and Tyler's inimitable smile. 4:50 Even talented drummers like Josh repeat the sound with a metronome. I have big problems with this, I can't get the right speed and rhythm (I'm studying to be a pianist)
Many bands have to use a click track, so if there's any backing track on a song the whole live band will be in time with it. I'd wager it's actually harder to do than just play free from a click, because if you get it wrong, everyone will notice that the band isn't in time with the backing track. And it can be for very simple things like synth pads, extra harmonies, etc, no shade, blending live playing with backing tracks seamlessly is an art in itself and elevates the performance I think.
Holy crap! What in the world is going on. My two favorite bands from Ohio..... twenty one pilots and Relient K are merging together and both are touring next year. Matt Hoopes from RK just posted about TOP when they were in ESPN, now here they are jamming to RK. Uncanny.
They’re the only big mainstream band I know that are still doing amazing things for their fans like playing small shows again, even though it’s rough. I’ve played enough shows without in ear monitors and they fucked up my hearing for the rest of my life. I’m glad Tyler is okay. They’re both so awesome and I’m glad I was able to experience the takeover tour!
I loved how they added tyler talking about his ears. Something that's monumental to live performances but that we don't see often from artists. Love the intimacy that this series has brought :)
So cool to hear what Tyler was hearing. I feel bad though that he was freaking out for that show. Glad everything turned out to be okay. Josh was so sweet to make Tyler laugh after that stressful situation
Thank you so much for sharing, especially the earpiece moment. Dealing with anxiety really messes your sense of reality sometimes. It’s refreshing to see you’re not alone.
Dear Tyler and Josh, I appreciate you very much and I love all your work and I love your show from beginning to end, but I would love for you to come to Guadalajara my city next time, to be able to see it with my own eyes and not through a screen. I really want to go to one of your shows🥺❤️✨
my favorite episode from this tour yet. mark you’re so talented, these always look and sound great, that bit with tyler listening with his earphones? brilliant.
Really love getting to be along the ride with them deciding how they want to do transitions aswell as other steps in the production. Would love to see more, maybe even getting to meet and see the work of more crew and behind the scenes members of the team to show how hard they all work to make everything happen.
This is freaking out? I would be crying and screaming! thank god he can still hear and write more songs! My heart mist a beat... great to see Tyler creating, fascinating! please film more of them, Best video until now Mark thanks!
How scary about Tyler's ears! I'm thankful Josh was there to make him laugh. We love you both so much. p.s. Excellent video editing - make sure to listen with headphones.
ustedes no solo me salvaron, sino me hacen feliz en cada momento dificil q tengo en mi vida y cada pequeñas crisis q tengo, me animo con su música, gracias twenty one pilots :')
2:23 I was literally thinking to myself "wow if I was there I would totally ask him to name it Angel bc that's my name lolol" and then he actually named it Angel and I swear my heart stopped
Seeing Tyler's anxiety over his earpiece has helped me a lot. This past year my anxiety as been the worst ever. I've had panic attacks and illnesses as a result and seeing someone I respect show anxiety has made me feel so much better. Thank you guys❤️
IM SURE YOUVE SEEN ENOUGH COMMENTS ABOUT IT BUT man. every little friggin detail in these series is just so cool. mark you’ve never disappointed us once with the tour highlight series things and you NEVER WILL A L S O anyone going to montreal in august??? got my tickets already and was literally second in the queue line hehe
This one is my favorite of the tour videos that has ever been done. The detail on the sound and the way it switches between them planning in the leaning mul-Bennie street part and the transition to live and back and the metronome part :) that was a great glimpse into how they make the shows great!
I got to go to the show the night before at the greek...Boss wouldn't give me the night off for this show lol...was amazing. Thank you for showing all the hard work it takes to put on a show like this...Absolutely amazing!!!
So I watched a movie recently, called "Sound of Metal", and when Tyler talked about the ear issue I got really worried. The edit detail when he tested the music with earphones... AMAZING!
I really appreciated the pan in the Tyler's ear issue portion; that was a fun little thing and just felt I should give a word where deserved, especially with the little things
I hope that Mark in the not too distant future will be able to work on a bigger project with Twenty One Pilots, maybe a documentary, a series, a movie, I would be interested to see something of that caliber coming from his hand.
I was having a really bad day and then Twenty Øne Piløts came along and released this video. They’re always helping me out! ❤️😄 Thank you Tyler and Josh!
4:13 this is actually so cool wtf😂 im legit looking around bc it feels like there's actual people in my empty studio rn lmao.....and the music panning from each ear as he takes the in-ears out is so sick 😂
So around the 14:00 mark where the screen darkens, I am getting a hunch that it is supposed to look as if some dark figure is watching them. Especially with the Holmes-esque detective music playing in the background as well. The darkness also fluctuates as if someone is moving in front of a projector that is projecting their performance onto a screen of sorts. I could just be looking too much into this, but I couldn't help but notice, found it a bit mysterious.
Mark you're a genius. playing the music along with which earpiece Tyler has in is an incredible detail.
i was going to say exactly the same, just perfect
FR THAT WAS SO SMART
Do I need to be wearing earbuds? It is planning left and right?
Ikr lmao that was amazing
@@katieskivlog1965 yes! It is panning, earbuds will give you the best experience!
the way tyler was freaking out and when he goes quiet and josh immediately finds something to make him smile, these guys
I know, right?! The bond between them is what I love about them!
The way Josh recognized Tyler's anxiety and came over to help pull him out of it using humor....that's the best! We ALL need a friend like Josh.
I’ve never seen Tyler so stressed, hearing him talk about his career ending over a singular moment is pretty relatable tbh
Hearing the music along with Tyler is absolutely great. So much detail in the making of these videos as always.

At 4:20 when he moves his left ear, the fact they cut the music out of the left side is such a beautiful touch. Wow.
1:25 I love seeing Josh actually trying to play the correct notes in the air 👏🏻 🥁
9:55 Seeing josh use the foot pedal to start the track sent me to space. I always knew he did it but I've always wanted to see him do it :^)

La cantidad de lágrimas que derramó cada que sale un nuevo capitulo, es impresionante jajaja :')

The fact that we got to listen to the songs the exact way that Tyler did as he was testing his IEMs was so sick!
