A review of the RE/100 Gun EZ from the 1992 anime series Mobile Suit Victory Gundam.
This is a reupload with some minor changes. While that HG Gouf Custom video had a ton of new material and fixes, this was more straightforward. I basically just wanted to remove that sponsored plug. Not that I had any reason to, dude seemed cool and I'd love to give shoutouts to more indie writers! I just didn't like the look. Just feels off, if that makes any sense (probably doesn't though lol). Feel free to message me if you'd like a refund, no worries, man.

Really great, simple kit from the amazing V Gundam anime. Pretty much everything a cheap grunt suit should be!
Also, about the appearance... We all have our own opinions on how a kit should look, I just lean more towards its anime appearance. The story and characters are everything to me, so naturally I want these kits to look how they looked in the story.
-- Production notes for me to look at later --
- For this reupload, I added a bunch of new rings to highlight specific sections and added a few manual shots. Also re-EQ'd the audio and lowered the audio. Rest is basically the same.
Here are the original production notes:
- This is the last in a run of 'casual' reviews. Basically, they're reviews where I cut a few corners and experiment. I try new things that hopefully I can refine and bring into their own in the more production-heavy MG reviews.
- I made a 'Painting Guide' before starting to work on this video. It was a very bare-bones affair, where I just walked through the part separation. I was unsure about it, so posted it on Twitter for some reactions. No one watched it though, and the one guy that did, wasn't overly impressed, so I never properly uploaded it. Still, might go back and try again later, because I think it's a good concept.
- The script - Really basic stuff here, nothing out of the ordinary. I do think I'm getting a little repetitive in my phrasing though...
- I did have to go back and rewrite the appearance section a few times. Always came off negative... I also had to cut a lot, because I compared a lot to the MG Victory Gundams, which I didn't have a ton of footage for. Still, it's much more concise this way.
- Like the HG Gouf Custom review, this has a TON of lights, probably more than needed. It made getting footage a bit annoying, as I had to maneuver around light stands. I'm probably gonna try to cut a few out by the next review.
- I got the exposure real solid on this review. It's the first in awhile that I didn't need to bump up the brightness of the video footage. Really nailed a solid ISO. Pretty happy with it. The stills were a little dark, but thanks to RAW, it wasn't that big a deal.
- The Victory Gundam footage is actually from my very first review. I never uploaded it, it was more of a proof of concept, but still, really cool I got some use out of that footage, even if it sucked. I did find it to be surprisingly crisp though. Wonder what lens I was using. Think it was a 24mm, which might have helped.
- I lowered the contrast compared to my more recent videos. I just thought the brightness of the shadows made the backdrop look cheap. Dropped the saturation more than usual too, since it was really easy to accidentally make this green look disgusting.
- It was fairly hard to get the colors to look right on this kit. I don't think I quite nailed it. They're supposed to be a bit darker than the anime line art.
- The audio is sounding really solid imo. Not "$400 microphone" levels, but about as good as it's gonna get. I used some of the tools a friend of mine used for the Gouf Custom audio, and tweaked it a little bit. It's more bass-y than his, but I think it sounds rounder.
- Also got the music at just the right level. Really happy with it. Part of me wants to go back and fix the audio levels for all my other reviews, but then I'd have to take them down...
- Used the black fade in from the side more. Really getting comfortable with it.
Idk what else. This review was made while I've been locked inside because of the situation we're all in, so cabin fever has my mind scattered.

Hard agree more Victory Gundam kits are needed, so many designs need some love.
Dude I just finished this guy a couple of days ago! I painted the peg of the upper arm with Gundam Marker and that fixed that problem, never came off again 😊

Oh my gosh, "Mobile Suit Victory Gundam," that entire series... OOOH BOY that was probably one TRAGIC and DARK Late Universal Century Gundam story that I completed watching back in late 2011.
And seriously I do hope that Bandai Namco would someday make other Late U.C. Gundam model kits.

Thanks for noticing, yeah, this was made before the Shokew review. Had it uploaded and everything for a few years, but needed to re-upload to remove some stuff. Probably a little jarring now lol

Gundam universe series had a Leo. Not a Model Kit but size wise a bit 1/100...maybe. Still.. wish bandai will consider MG Leo or Reborn 100..

The green is weird. Not bad and probably in fact good, but it feels weirdly close to one of those sickly, off-putting greens the longer I look.

Thanks for noticing. Tried something a little different with this and the HG/RG reviews. Was curious if it helped ‘viewer retention’ or whatever. I kinda like the intro song more though lol

@@miragebangbravern2024 Standards. RE feels cheap. It also has a design direction that does not go well with MGs for my self. I'm glad the line is dead.
@@wewyllenium I mean, that is like the point of the line as it is an alternative to MGs especially for that 1/100 itch when production of MGs has to be less nowadays thanks to recession
The line is dead technically speaking although we still have the Full Mechanics.
