One of the fields you can work in too as a mechatronics engineer, you’ll find it’s mostly electrical engineers that’s required for the job but apply for the job anyway, before learning anything you need to know what PLC systems and software used in your country, in Egypt we use German PLCs while in the US i hear they use AlanBradley, same concepts can be applied to both systems only with different symbols but you’d need to get familiar with it, you can find many Indians on Udemy teaching PLC S7 1200 very well, good luck
