Kind of feels like he's deflecting his past choices and spinning it as " it was an experiment, jokes on you". When at the end of the day, he has an eating disorder and probably has had one for a very long time, even when he was vegan eating huge bowls of boiled potatos. It wasn't an experiment. He stopped being vegan, started eating whatever he wanted, went through a lot of guilt over eating animal products again, had an indentity crisis, started emotionally eating anything and everything, started gaining weight, realised he was able to make more profit eating unhealthy food and gaining weight.. and it took off from there. He absolutely got lost in the character, the fame and money. At this point I think he's embarrassed and ashamed of himself and it's easier to say it was all an experiment and shame the viewers for watching it. Rather than admit he went down that spiral due to his own mental health. This is just my opinion as someone who was watching him back in his vegan days when he was doing mukbangs in Thailand with mangos and sweet potatoes. It was honestly disturbing as a fan of his content back then, to watch him turn into what he became..

The problem with this transformation is it doesn't erase all the shitty stuff he did while he was conducting his experiment. He still made content capitalizing on domestic abuse, he still faked having illnesses, he still bullied other creators, and so much more. As far as I'm concerned I will never support him again especially since he hasn't seemed to reconcile his actions with those they affected (just like James Charles), but I also won't hate on those who do choose to support him.

Last year in September I started a low calorie diet. I counted everything I ate and counted the calories I was losing with exercise with my Fitbit. I weighed 185 and got down to 166 at my lowest. I was losing 2 pounds a week! February comes around and I felt very very tired all the time, hot flashes at night and peeing more frequent. I somehow become insulin resistant and that prevented me from losing any weight. Crazy how the body will fight you from losing weight. Now that I’m on the right medication I can start achieving my goal again. Love you Ken if you read this! Your videos give me a lot of joy❤
It does, anything can become addicting. Also the endorphins might be a drive too, for some anyways. I haven't been working out, but when I was you wanna keep doing it even when tired, like it takes away negative emotions by flooding your nerves with exhaustion in a physical way, not a mental one so you feel rested after heavy exercise despite knowing you'll be in pain later. But going through it more and more the pain is less likely to happen and instead you just get positive exhaustion and other benefits of working out

Regarding people being "mad" (4:40), as someone who has watched some docs on Nikocado (including the 7h from the week before), I don't think people are mad he's lost the weight, but how everything else seems to have gotten erased and his reputation is wiped now. Personally, I found it surreal to see people so openly celebrating him because of this revelation - not just celebrating his weight loss, but shifting to that he's suddenly a super admirable person and almost a role model. It's as though history was rewritten into that his weight was the exclusive reason anyone had a problem with him, which it certainly wasn't - many didn't have a problem with that part at all. His behaviour, treatment of others (including pets), and so much else is still right there and potentially unchanged. It's one of those cases where I think it's important to distinguish between "good" and "impressive" when it comes to admirable actions. I find his weight loss to be genuinely really impressive and definitely worth celebrating, and the way he went about it was very smart. However, he's certainly not suddenly a good person now. Even the way he's gone about this reveal has scared people, and he still hasn't apologised for any of the harmful behaviour he's done over the years, and seems to be using this as a trump card against anything being brought up. It's just trying to prevent the celebration from going out of hand in glorifying him. He's abused his power to hurt people before, and he's showed zero remorse so far. He just lost weight.
At the end of the day, he's still the same manipulative person - skinny or not. It's like the weight loss suddenly turns him into a redeemed person when, in reality, nothing has actually changed except for his weight. I appreciate your comment. This was my reasoning, too.

When you lose weight rapidly with “crash diets” your hair falls out due to taking in less protein. It also happens when you have gastric bypass surgery. That could be the reason for him shaving his head because the thinning hair would be noticeable.

He shaved his head so people won't recognize him before the reveal and talks about posting old videos while he lost weight and edited them to look new. They even bring up an older video that he repeats the whole speech he makes in this reveal video.

What he basically meant, is that him getting extremely fat, to then become skinny was simply his social experiment and plan the entire time, and that it showed we were awful creatures for laughing at him while he was fat in his videos, and that he had outsmarted us because he was actually on a weight loss journey while still uploading these mukbang videos, making us believe he was still a fat loser when he was actually skinny again... He had a really intense skin care routine, i remember talking to him about it like 2-3 years ago. That helps a TON when you loose weight, keeping that skin healthy and your collagen up is likely why his face looks so slim. Nick as a person is very smart. Because of that he is super good at manipulating not only individuals but whole groups of people. He knows what makes money. And he has done well using his theater kid skills to make a shit ton of money for his future. I don't super like him as his characters or his actual self, but i can appreciate his intelligence, dedication and self control

The younger you are the more likely you are not to run into these issues. Your skin becomes less "elastic" as you age, so these side effects become more prominent the older you are. Nick is still relatively young, too, so he's less likely to have the turkey neck than a 50 year old would, for example.

Genetics and age play into it as well, but you also only lost 115 lbs where nick lost a significant difference compared to you and lost 250 lbs Edit: didn't mean you "only" lost that much, it's still an incredible amount man! But yeah just the differences

3:40 you don't get loose skin when you fast for extended periods of time semi frequently, once you hit 24 hours into a fast, your body goes through a process called autophagy where it consumes dead and dying cells as food, which includes loose skin.

I went through a 100lb weight loss in 18 months before. Did it by cutting out added sugars (fresh fruits were okay, cane or corn sugar were not) and banned all processed foods from my diet. My only loose skin was in my stomach area, and relatively mild. I regained a bunch of weight back during covid that I'm now working to start losing, hopefully the loose skin is just as mild as the first time.
I feel like if there is an experiment here it's now. Watch how fast people turn around and change how they treat him fat vs skinny. Suddenly everyone is so positive about him... Take notes my friends. People are trash. Also, he had an incredible amount of energy for a fat dude so turning that into working on himself seems a no brainer.

I think partly why nicks weight loss journey was not only possible, especially for a RUclipsr, was particularly because he wasn't vlogging it and opening up that journey to feedback and criticism, which can lead to so much inner turmoil and backsliding. I haven't been working out, but when I was you wanna keep doing it even when tired, like it takes away negative emotions by flooding your nerves with exhaustion in a physical way, not a mental one so you feel rested after heavy exercise despite knowing you'll be in pain later. But going through it more and more the pain is less likely to happen and instead you just get positive exhaustion and other benefits of working out

Regarding people being "mad" (4:40), as someone who has watched some docs on Nikocado (including the 7h from the week before), I don't think people are mad he's lost the weight, but how everything else seems to have gotten erased and his reputation is wiped now.
Personally, I found it surreal to see people so openly celebrating him because of this revelation - not just celebrating his weight loss, but shifting to that he's suddenly a super admirable person and almost a role model. It's as though history was rewritten into that his weight was the exclusive reason anyone had a problem with him, which it certainly wasn't - many didn't have a problem with that part at all. His behaviour, treatment of others (including pets), and so much else is still right there and potentially unchanged.
It's one of those cases where I think it's important to distinguish between "good" and "impressive" when it comes to admirable actions. I find his weight loss to be genuinely really impressive and definitely worth celebrating, and the way he went about it was very smart. However, he's certainly not suddenly a good person now. Even the way he's gone about this reveal has scared people, and he still hasn't apologised for any of the harmful behaviour he's done over the years, and seems to be using this as a trump card against anything being brought up.
It's just trying to prevent the celebration from going out of hand in glorifying him. He's abused his power to hurt people before, and he's showed zero remorse so far. He just lost weight.
At the end of the day, he's still the same manipulative person - skinny or not. It's like the weight loss suddenly turns him into a redeemed person when, in reality, nothing has actually changed except for his weight.

When you lose weight rapidly with “crash diets” your hair falls out due to taking in less protein. It also happens when you have gastric bypass surgery. That could be the reason for him shaving his head because the thinning hair would be noticeable.

He had a really intense skin care routine, i remember talking to him about it like 2-3 years ago. That helps a TON when you loose weight, keeping that skin healthy and your collagen up is likely why his face looks so slim.

The younger you are the more likely you are not to run into these issues. Your skin becomes less "elastic" as you age, so these side effects become more prominent the older you are.
Nick is still relatively young, too, so he's less likely to have the turkey neck than a 50 year old would, for example.

Plus skin temoval surgery is painful, especially if you have to get your nipples fixed. It seems like a price bigger than money. Additionally, people will want to replicate this. A lot of people don't realize you risk getting cancer from being morbidly obese and some American foods are carcinogenic and you're eating truckloads of it. We've seen influencers die. Losing weight doesn't always guarantee you'll go back to your normal. It's like smoking. Sometimes people come back okay, totally distroyed, or die. But too often it destroys. If he's a changed person it'd be nice to see him talk about this, that it's actually not a safe move.

3:40 you don't get loose skin when you fast for extended periods of time semi frequently, once you hit 24 hours into a fast, your body goes through a process called autophagy where it consumes dead and dying cells as food, which includes loose skin.

I went through a 100lb weight loss in 18 months before. Did it by cutting out added sugars (fresh fruits were okay, cane or corn sugar were not) and banned all processed foods from my diet. My only loose skin was in my stomach area, and relatively mild.
I regained a bunch of weight back during covid that I'm now working to start losing, hopefully the loose skin is just as mild as the first time.

I think partly why nicks weight loss journey was not only possible, especially for a RUclipsr, was particularly because he wasn't vlogging it and opening up that journey to feedback and criticism, which can lead to so much inner turmoil and backsliding.
