I’m a hospitalist in FL. My wife and I became millionares at 42 years of age. The key is to live below your means. We prioritize travel and our kids’ schooling. We are on track to retire in our early 50’s. Btw, this channel is money.

Do you use a financial advisor ?

@arnoldjeans9913 no. I followed the Dave Ramsey baby steps with the exception that my stock portfolio is Warren Buffett style 90% s&p500 index fund and 10% short term treasury bonds for my 401k. My roth ira and HSA accounts are similar but instead of 10% bonds I invest into SCHD. I just created a real estate investment company and purchased my first rental property. I’m going to start investing into REIT’s with the cash flow. You really do not need a financial advisor but if you need guidence you can meet with one and pay them hourly rather than have them manage your money for a percentage. Good luck!

I paid off all of my student loans (undergrad and med school) within the first year of my pediatric residency. I always paid my cars in cash, and I paid off my 30-year mortgage in less than five years. Yes, it's possible, and I live in Los Angeles, so cost of living is really expensive. It's all about financial discipline, and not spending money that you don't have. Maximize the amount of passive income streams.

As Charles Dickens's character Wilkins Micawber put it “Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pound ought and six, result misery.”
History may not repeat itself, but it does rhyme.

One should realize that all 0% cc charge 3% balance transfer fee thus effectively a 3% interest rate ...so not completely free

Doctor of Chiropractic here from the People's Republic of Illinois. Thankfully I've been in practice for 28 years, in private Self-Employed solo practice for 25 years, and am nearing retirement in 7 to 10 years.
I'm not a millionaire yet, but my wife and I are definitely working on it.
I discovered this channel 2 months ago. Good stuff, Dr. Dahle!

Good work if you can get it! I'll be honest though, we don't make much off of RUclips. It takes A LOT of views to really make money off their little ads.
