    This is an amazing build. I built two of the original Airfix Eagles as a child back in the 1970s and recently got back into this hobby after 40 years. Find your channel, teaching, skill and explanation very inspirational. If you could possibly print me off a copy of your custom decals I'd be delighted to pay you for your trouble. Plus postage to the UK of course. No worries if not. I might try and use tiny pieces of coloured tape on the spine structure instead, although they'll need to be super small! Thanks again.

    Im 48 years old, so yes I remember the eagle one. God you brought back some great childhood memories. If id could be so bold. It would be great if you could build all the ships from old sci fi, like...voyage to the bottom of the sea, fantastic journey, the last dinosaur drill and others. Such a great job brother. You have a gift. Sate safe.

      Hi Apocraphon! Thank you so much for leaving this post, it really made my day. It's funny you should bring up Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea as I was thinking about it this past weekend and how it, along with Time Tunnel, were my fondest early TV memories. So the Moebius 128 Seaview and Flying Sub are definitely on my list!!
      Thank you for watching and for your supportive words!
      All the best.

    One of the coolest models of all time. Mine have never even come close to looking as good as that.
    That masking is the difficult bit. Very very nice sharp work.

      I agree, one of my all time favourite models and ships! Thank you so much for your comment. And you are right, the masking is key.

    My favorite sci fi show and probably the most realistic because it was only in the year 1999 not in the 23rd century which is probably why i loved this show especially the Eagle Transporter. Beautiful job. I love it.

      @ArcticModeler  2 года назад

      I completely agree with you about how it always felt so realistic. As a youngster I remember just waiting to watch the Eagle special effects and to be amazed by the tiny video screen on the commlock! Thanks very much for sharing your memories and for appreciating the build. Take care.

    I just found your video, awesome model. I'm old so this brought back some great memories of dodgy 70's Sci-Fi. I loved Space 1999 as a kid and my die cast dinky eagle transporter with the nuclear waste pod was my favourite. I also had the die cast Enterprise, Klingon bird of prey, interceptor from UFO!!!! They would be worth a fortune now!
    I found a 3d printer eagle version so i might have a crack at that.

      Hi Alain,
      I'm glad to hear that you are building the model! The switch is from EvanDesign evandesigns.com/collections/wire-switch-more/products/microswitch and the magnets were from a hobby pack of magnets of different sizes that I have had around for many years. I hope you really enjoy the process and the end results.
      All the best.

      Hi George!
      Thanks for commenting and for a great question! I just realized that although I do show some of the details in Part 1 (ruclips.net/video/CxXTbRQI2J4/видео.html) of the detailed series at the 11 : 25 - 11 : 46 mark, I sped it up so you can hardly see it unless you slow down the playback speed! Sorry about that.
      I have a set of 24 opaque colours from US Art Supply that I often use when I need small amounts of mixed or straight colours. In this case I used “Vermillion Red” (USA AB1017-1Z) for the jumpsuits and “Canary Yellow” (USA AB1013-1Z) for the helmets. The grey is Vallejo Silver (77.724).
      Hope this helps!
      Take care.

    Did you base coat the entire model in black first before masking off the black areas or did you prime it and then spray the black areas before applying the masks and the white basecoat?

    • @ArcticModeler
      @ArcticModeler  2 года назад

      Hi John,
      I washed and then primed all parts with badger stynylrez white primer before laying down the Tamiya XF-1 flat black areas that were eventually masked off in preparation for the base coat. If you are interested, you can see a bit more detail on this at the 20 minute mark of the first detailed build video here:
      Space: 1999 Eagle 1 - Part 1 - Build and Prime - 1:72 - mpc

      Hope this helps!

      Bonjour Julia,
      J'adorais ça aussi quand j'étais petite ! Avez-vous regardé la version française sur CBC à la fin des années 70 et 80 ? C'est un modèle populaire en ce moment et disponible dans presque tous les magasins de bricolage. J'ai obtenu le mien dans mon magasin local ici : www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=MPC913.
      Merci d'avoir laissé un commentaire.
      Toutes mes excuses si la traduction Google de ce message n'est pas très bonne.

    Those pilots are crap. You really should have replaced them with decent figures because the ones that come with it are basically garbage. Use a file on those front windows, it make a much better fit.
