    Can you pre purchase the bus tickets at any Family Mart other than the one in Chiayi Station? How far back in advance can we pre purchase tickets?

    • @oneyearsabbatical
      @oneyearsabbatical  Год назад

      I think you can only pre-purchase the bus ticket at the Chiayi train station. Based on an online guide we read, you can pre-purchase tickets 1 month in advance.

      The rest area is near Alishan Shouzhen Temple. If we remember correctly, it is between the Sister Pond Trail and the Giant Tree Trail.

    Sorry to bug you with one more question! I plan to walk from my hotel, Alishan Kaofeng, to see the sunset at the train station. Will the walk back be dark or are there ample street lights?

    • @oneyearsabbatical
      @oneyearsabbatical  11 месяцев назад +1

      The main tourist area to the train station is properly lit and so if your hotel is within the tourist area then it shouldn’t be an issue.

      Yes. We went a few days earlier to the Family Mart at Chiayi train station to pre purchase the tickets. It is recommended to do so as the bus can get really packed.

    Hey there! Just wondering which hotel did you two stayed at, and was it at least okay? hahaha i've read a bit about accomodations in Alishan area itself and honestly haven't heard any good stuff about the more wallet friendly ones. But those may not reflect the entire experience of accomodations there. Otherwise, I'm wondering if I should stay in Chiayi instead and spend the 4 hours back and forth.. haha..

    • @oneyearsabbatical
      @oneyearsabbatical  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi there! We stayed at the Alishan Shermuh hotel (you can check out the price and the condition of the room in our video at the 6:26 mark). The room was relatively new, clean but a little small.
      We won’t really recommend going back and forth as it wouldn’t give you sufficient time to explore the area (there is a lot of things to see there!). Also, if you are planning to catch the sunrise, you have to stay a night at Alishan.

    • @chowzisiong7800
      @chowzisiong7800 11 месяцев назад

      @@oneyearsabbatical thanks! i just had a look myself at the hotels in that area on google maps, and booked the Alishan Kaofeng one. Looks decent enough but yours is surely great too! also yeah, makes more sense to just stay in that area.
