As a reference to number 72, there's a song by a group called the Reflections titled " Just like Romeo and Juliet " which came out in 1964. Oddly enough, Romeo and Juliet is my favorite Shakespearean play followed by Hamlet.
My favourite Shakespeare play is "Much Ado About Nothing", one of his most famous comedies. I like it for its funny lines and things done. Overall, the man did a good job on this one.
First, my favorite Shakespeare play is Titus Andronicus (which I saw at The Globe Theater in 2014). That is a horror movie before horror movies were a thing! Second, didn't they discover a lost Shakespeare play and a possible contemporary portrait of him within the last five years or so? I remember reading articles about that. And third, 101 Facts about: 1. Stephen King 2. Sailor Moon 3. Ballet 4. King Arthur
Rami Ungar, I totally agree with you! Titus Andronicus is one of my favourites too, and I think it's really underrated. Learning a bit more about Mr Stephen King would be interesting. I love his books. 💙
Titus is the worst play,it was an early work which is laughed at by academics and Shakespeare lovers alike. Lear,Macbeth and the Tempest are some of the best
Can you do a 101 facts on Mozart? Mozart was my absolute favorite composer in my years of studying music history. His talent and personal life were more interesting than most would expect. :D I'd even be happy to give you interesting facts along with the sources of each fact
My High School English teacher told me that Shakespeare wasn’t an actual person but a name like John Doe that writers and poets would use at the time if they wanted to remain anonymous.
There are also some Shakespeare plays translated into modern English. They would usually have about the same number of lines as the original, and be next to it in the book.
Good Day Sam!. Love your vidz. your so funny!! And I like that your videos are long but have funny jokes, and little quips through out. Keep up the good work!
I love listening to your videos when I am doing yoga , weightlifting, and leg raises on my nortaflex stand. I usually do 10 sessions of 5 poses of yoga each video for about 2 hours to reach 40 sessions.
BILLY SHAKES I take this as my new way to call him from now on. Also, Billy Shakes as new cover for Billy Jean :P Lovely to see someone trying to recount stuff from The Bard. Its always hard to find good content that talks about his life, but there is always tons of videos and content about his work.
Thank you for this information. Question regarding the last fact: What is your source of information that suggests Taoism acknowledges William Shakespeare, Mohammed and others as a Saint? Any information regarding this will be sincerely appreciated to further my understanding of this interesting fact. Thanks.
I hate - Romeo and Juliet. They were stupid, lame brats, decided suicide was a good idea when they ran into trouble. I despise - Hamlet. He was a whiny, "No body loves or understands me" jerk. And while - Macbeth - has some good parts, he annoys me too by letting his wife do all his thinking. I like - Julius Caesar, - especially Mark Antony's speech after telling the killers he is cool with their killing Caesar, and he is alone with the body. That is some bad-ass speech! I love - As You Like It, - not just because the main heroine is named Rosalind. I like that when she is faced with a bad marriage, like Juliet, she choose to be proactive and dresses like a man and hides out in the forest. It is a cool play!
First I love your channel I have almost watched all of your video Second do you have the Simpsons in the uk Third you should do 101 facts on Jennifer Lawrence and 101 facts on the Simpsons ( longest scripted tv series ever )
Thank you so much! Yes we do have The Simpsons here in the UK! We did a 101 on it ages ago (it was one of the first videos we made), but it had to be taken down because of Copyright issues :(
2:08 So Shakespeare has a cult? Cult - a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object (I researched it a bunch for a script of a Breath of the Wild theory about the Yiga (Clan or Cult). I swear I didn't look it up when I typed this comment. You can believe me if you want.
Religions - Christian Hellenic Shakespearian (apparently) I don't know it's probably a thing. We have 7,400,000,000+ people in this world and a lot of religions. Even if it's not official, it's still probably a thing.
Sam Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate. Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer’s lease hath all too short a date. Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, And often is his gold complexion dimmed; And every fair from fair sometime declines, By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed; But thy eternal summer shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st, Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade, When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st. So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. Perhaps not😂
for 10, it wasn't completely illegal to be a catholic, it was just forbidden to practice in public. So you were allowed to in private just not in public after Queen Mary died.
It all makes sense now. If Shakespeare wrote mostly under the reign of King James then no wonder the English Biblical translation of the same name sounds so much like Shakespeare.
to be or not to be, that is the question
The answer is 42
Sein oder nicht sein , Das ist ein Frage.
Etre ou pas etre, Il est une questione.
Not to be
2B or not 2B is deciding on a pencil
fuck off mate

He created the words 'Swag' and 'Swagger'. Hip hop... your welcome.
Chris Strong your racist
💀👍
I don’t think he invented the word swag. Just swagger
I hate that word
He also revolutionized iambic pentameter which is arguably more important to hip hop than the word swag
The past tense of William Shakespeare is William shookspeare
Cheesy Potatoes WouldIWas Shookspeare
