- Nebraska ain't got much. Corn, fields, flatlands, a football team that's getting worse and worse every year, and the state fish.. The channel cat. To me its the best thing we got going for us, heck.. It might be the only thing we have going for us. Jor-Dan, Clinton and I set out before the first morning light just to check some ice, and move on. Whelp, we found 2.5" of good clear is, and that's good enough for who it's for. Then the MEATDOWN BEATDOWN commenced.

My Minnesota tip for keeping cold off is latex rubber or nylex gloves. Still like a bare hand and water comes off with the wipe of a towel.
Bud id love to see if you could get them channels though the ice up here in North Dakota Red River. The Red is the cannel cat capital no blues or flats just channels up and over 30 pounds. Get lots of mid 20s but anyway i catch walleye pike goldeye and all others ice fishing but cant ever get cats. It gets 20 below alot here and i dont know if they just go dorment or what. But since your such a king on these cats tnough the ice id bet youd get one. please look up the Red River of the north just to check it out love your channel good fishing everyone.

It has been a warm winter for sure but I've had recent recent reports of 9-11 inches on Lake Vermilion. I few days ago I saw (on a cellular trail camera) the first snowmobile tracks on the lake in front of our cabin.
I have never, and probably never will use all that electronic stuff! I know where the fish are!
Hey man love the videos from a fellow Nebraskan. Sometime this winter you should do some ice fishing at Cottonmill park in Kearney if you're ever out this way it's loaded with walleyes, channels, and everything else. Keep up the good work!

Yeah we are in the same boat here in north central Massachusetts,mid January and no ice yet , looks like it might get cold in the next week hopefully it will ice fishing derbys start January 27 th fingers crossed.

Lighter rod and heavier hook equals less hook penetration. And that lure has a lot of cover over the points. Try that hook and setup with a big pimple or kastmaster and I bet you’re better off. Sweet fishing nonetheless.

Just curious if there is a determining factor on when you have the live scope in the hole your fishing and when you drill a hole next to your fishing hole for the livescope?
To me it would make more sense to always have the 2 holes but the only things i know about ice fishing are what ive seen in your videos
It might be all in my head, but.. In shallow water, more holes, makes them more skittish. Most of them dipped from one hole being drilled.

Hey brother, not trying to be negative and this is a honest question but if you've got a chunk of bait on your lure isn't it the bait and not so much the lure? Use that 6th sense plug by it's self for the heck of it. I've been a Sub for year's and love your videos.

Went to my local spot, plugged 3 holes, the water was almost volcanic and flooded my spot in minutes...the dock was my spot shortly after.

I don't ice fish, I fish steelhead all winter long but why not drill multiple holes or carve out big holes like the Laker guys do? just because the ice is so thin and you don't wanna compromise it?

I do not ice fish. I am more into throwing a swim bait or lure, or fly into the river or lake. like you do when it is not freezing balls!
