Atithi comes from Tithi - meaning someone who comes unannounced, not the other way round.
It is literally astonishing to me how much the tithis impact my day to day life. It's expanded my understanding of Jyotish and life immeasurably. Very grateful to Achala ji for her invaluable and extremely thorough book and all her videos!

A very interesting and enlightening knowledge based video. Although I have watched only 30 minutes, I am fascinated by the depth of research. My experience is that pending work gets completed on Purna tithis i.e. on 5 th, 10 th and 15 th tithis
A purna tithi thus signals completion , as I have experienced.

Thank you Achala Ji and Arjun Pai Ji. I had a question about the Krishna panchami tithi making Gemini Lagna and Virgo lagnanor rashis shoonya rashis. Which means any planets in their will not give results or will make it Malefic? What r the overlapping effects.
There are several rules, which override the negative outcome of shunya rashis. This in itself is quite vast topic and requires some attentiveness, when reading or interpreting it. But it was also covered in the ebook.

I'm born in Pournimasya tithi
Sanjay Ruth in one of his videos (I think from 2010) states that your tithi is super important because it forms that relationship of mother and father, masculine and feminine self, the two opposites of self that helps form your whole, and he says that it is so important due to that fact that it defines ALL of your relationships with everything and everyone in your ENTIRE life. Therefore can be thought of as a line and if you were to draw that line to anyone or anything, you are able to truly understand your connection to it.
You shouldn't allow an astrological concept to 'define' your life this way.

How do you find the tithi in the chart?
Majority of Jyotish programs are calculating that (there are also plenty of free online services calculating birth tithi). You can try to google out any of those or do a manual calculation: determine the distance from Sun to Moon in degrees and if the number is smaller than 180 (Shukla Paksha), then divide by 12. If it is bigger than 180 (Krishna Paksha), then firstly substract 180 and then divide by 12.
Tithi, nakshatra, paksh , everything is written on the first page of details in horoscope before the chart

The last i checked,mine's at krishna paksa,pancami and something which was written as (Purna),(Asvină) and tithi lord is jupiter....hora lord is venus,vara lord is saturn - actually vara lord should be sun but i was born like before sunrise,the mids of the night lmfao so saturday is reasonable.....i don't know why but something tells me whatever this tithi is,is extremely bad lmfao😂 nothing good happened anyways so derived at that conclusion😆😂
No tithi is good or bad :-). Each tithi and tithi/vara/nakshatra combinatio has both its strengths and vulnerabilities.
I've never been into material things and i'm shukla paksha. The most materialistic person I know was born as krisna paksha. I really get frustrated by dumb generalizations in astrology. It's why astrology has such a bad rap. Doing deep research into the lunar mansion reveals contradictory results. What truth is there? One thing for sure-- I hate ignorance. Maybe a person should not be judged by when and where they were born.
