I mean, I love Dean but Cas' character has so much more development and he really needs to realize how important he is. People always treat him like an expendable little soldier, when he really is so much more and just as 'valuable' as the Winchesters.
"Ran so far, just to drown in shallow waters" as much as I HATE Metatron, his words are so well put and perfectly describe our baby Cass. He gave up everything and went out of his way time after time just to help the Winchesters ( specifically Dean who he shares a more profound bond with ), and time and time again, Dean couldn't stop being a drama queen and projecting hate on Cass. As much as I love Dean and the both of them being together, Castiel deserves so much better. I'm honestly glad he left, but I obviously want him to make more appearances on the show.
"Wow. You learn that the hard way?"
That line is So Rude!!! It hurts more because it's true. Cas, you'll do well on your own.

Wow, in retrospective, and remembering now how Cas talked with Jack on 15x18... I only wish someone had told those same words to him. He may have been aware of it, but even so, HE DESERVED TO LISTEN TO HIS FAMILY SAYING HE'S IMPORTANT BECAUSE HE'S LOVED, not because he's useful... It's something that will always hurt
I wonder which of the two our current Dean is more similar to: the Dean in the 2014 apocalypse or the Dean who traveled there from 2009.

Ugh my heart. Castiel deserves so much better, and I'm glad he's separating himself for a little while. You put together such an amazing video. I'm actually currently working on a similar video idea, and I love that we both see how used he is.
LOVE THIS! We ALL know Cas deserves better...so tired of him being beat down and taken for granted...I think it's good he's walking away for a while..and I Hope Dean ends up missing having Cas always there for him and he realizes how much he's hurt Cas... He needs to make this right.
My heart aches even more for Castiel after watching this. After Dean said what he said to him, I completely lost any respect that I had for the hunter. Cas deserves to be happy. He deserves so much better.

ya know what. i've been thinking this since season 10, at least, but cas needs to get tf away from the winchesters. or dean at least. i shipped destiel until around the beginning of season 14, because after that dean just treats him like shit. it irritates me that dean and the writers constantly forget who and what castiel is. he's a loyal, empathetic, caring person. he's not just a disobedient dog that needs to be trained. the winchesters don't OWN castiel, and i'm glad homeboy is finally realizing he doesn't belong to them.
This is so beautiful yet heartbreaking character study i'd like to say. In the story you had playing over what the demi god said and the riddle sums up the journey of cas's character. "what is the maddest thing a man can do?""let himself die" like it's clear insanity when you think about what cas is willing to do to achieve the 'right' thing. It's heartbreaking because i think it's why out of all the angels, he is a true representation of what an angel suppose to be. His intentions are always driven to do the right thing but in the most authentic idea of what that definition is imo and i think why it hurts so much when he fails or spoken down to because he failed most of the time than winning, yet he still does it again and again. There isn't no fall back on coping mechanisms like Dean or Sam so you just watching this selfless being try his best to do the right thing without being corrupt and somehow he always seems to achieve it. its endearing and ultimately tragic because he never expects anything in return.
Castiel deserves so much better, i'm still so angry after the writers and Dean. Castiel is such a amazing character and he deserves better than to be threat like is nothing, Castiel is a part of the Winchesters's family i don't care about what Dean said, Castiel had is share of losses too. He just lost the closest thing he had to a son, he had nothing now. This tribute is FANTASTIC !! Even if it broke my heart even more

My heart! Castiel deserves all the happiness in the world! He needs to survive at the end of season 15! Everytime they say all those horrible things in Cas's face makes me so angry and emotional. I was soooo proud of Castiel for standing up for himself and leaving. The fact that he said all his fears out loud made me proud that at least he is acknowledging his pain he has accumulated over the years. This is a masterpiece and shows very clearly Castiel's emotional path. I hope that after Cas left, Dean realizes how badly he fucked up and apologizes to Cas for everything he has said and fights for Cas! Anyways, you are always the best at making Castiel videos that just capture his whole journey. Thank you for blessing us Cas fans with this art!💜❤

And Endverse!Dean is a BLESSING, such a striking parallel! The writers should really explore that arc once again, man... As for the rest of it - I'm just shook, you deserve all the praise!
++ would be really interesting to explore how Dean probably feels about the break up at this point of narrative - empty, angry and lost (not that he doesn't deserve the blame rn but he also had his heart broken a few times before. Moreover, there's this beautifully written inner conflict with Dean's constant anger and toxicity that have lead to 'the rupture' in the first place)
i just can't stop rewatching this video, it's really amazing how you intertwined all these sorrow parts of cas' story, you've done a great job; the music, the lines, the moments - all of these makes me wanna cry for cas, cause he deserves the f**king world & even more & it makes me so pissed and disappointed that dean at some point turned into his 2014 endverse version; thank you very much, i'm broken by your masterpiece but somehow satisfied

Thanks for this great insightful edit. Notice how all of Cas's problems in self worth have to do with how Dean treats him, not Sam? Do they really have a more profound bond? Sam is the one who always sticks up for Cas and never stops believing in him. And now Sam has to loose him just because Dean is being an asshole. How is that fair? I think, now that he's walking away from Dean, Cas should now pay attention to Sam, the brother who actually deserves him.
