- This is a quickish video on fixing one of the symptoms of white screen issue on a laptop. Sometimes it is in fact a screen issue, flex cable, or motherboard. Generally if its a graphics card it would be black.

I am so chuffed right now! I had the white screen of death after my toddler jumped on my wife while she was working on her Asus laptop. I followed your instructions, opened it up and found the cable had become partially disconnected. Re-connected it and it's all working now! Thanks!

lmao my laptop had this issue. All I did was sit on it and it started working again. Lesson learned, your butt can fix anything.

For what it's worth, this is my condensed story about my (white screen issue) and resolution. I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows 10. It's started having a few small white specks on the screen. Then the battery begin to go. Finally, the (screen colors begin to change) away from the normal, to a pink etc. and the (videos and the mouse pointer would freeze and move again) about every 10 seconds. So after watching several RUclips videos, but still not having resolved my issue, I finally decided to take it to the local computer repair place in town. Long story short, my laptops screen needed to be replaced. And although the repairman may have got me with that $107 repair bill , my laptop is now fully functional and I am very happy!!! Now, I could have paid the $35 fee to have them assess what was wrong with it and then have fixed it myself, but I was very busy and just wanted it done quickly. Anyway I hope this helps someone else. Peace.
Heyman, i have the white screen. After a while it goes black, and pops back on, almost like it was loading windowst in the background, after that i can do Fn+F buttins to increase and decrease the rightness, but it's NOT outputting to a monitor with a HDMI cable
My Computer is now looking good, but it's not because of your tutorial, it somehow came back to normal.

I wondered if it worked on a hp laptop because I am so sick of using my tv instead of the screen plus the sucky thing is that my laptop needs to be charged or it wont turn on -_-..

Facts!!
When it occurred to me this problem happened when I tried to remove the battery from my laptop with the screen open, this caused the board below the screen to bend and lean against the metal frame causing interference.
to fix it was very simple, open the screen of your notebook and carefully bend the board in the direction of the screen (ie in the direction of the keyboard) causing it to disengage from the metal and operate normally.

All u need to press ctrl alt delete and shutdown and start the laptop u will see there is no white screen all are set up!! ( that's all i did , it work) 😊

My laptop doesn't have screws on the screen area to unscrew and there is no easy to remove battery... I unscrewed all the screws at the bottom, but it doesn't come off... it's an Asus X555L

I would like to share my experience with my dell insperon 15 5000 gaming. The issue has been fixed and ill explain how in the end. I started experiencing the issue when playing high powered games. the screen would go white and then thanks to Ian Rush. I pressed the d key and it fixed it. I assumed it was a software issue. I kept experiencing the issue and i eventually reinstalled the drivers. I thought it was fixed but then it got worse the next morning. The screen went white again. But I noticed only in certain positions it happened. Which made me conclude it was hardware. I contacted dell and had it shipped out to the repair facility over fed ex ground. Which was very slow. A week or two later the laptop came back not fixed. I called dell pretty upset and dell said all they did was unplug and replug the lcd cable. I did not understand how this was possible. They said it had to be reshipped out. I requested fed ex express and it was approved. Dell actually sent me a box where I could write the issue down and explain whats wrong. I did that and for some reason was unsuccessful in scheduling a house pickup. So we dropped it off at a nearby drop off box. The laptop came back now and the sheet said they replaced the LCD screen. I remember the guy at dell said that my LCD screen was perminatly attached to the video cable running through the hinges. I'm still not sure about that. A week has passed with the issue not coming back...... Yet. The issue with the first repair was that I did not supply my username and password or the sheet so the people at repair just assumed it was a simple white screen issue. Personally I hate taking apart computers and never have and my life and I hope not to ever have to. I feel I have shared my experience with everyone and i would hate for others to experience what I did. But from this moment I will never feel the same about dell or laptops.

Hello. I have a white screen problem as well, but this is the scenario.
As I open the laptop, it goes well. but not for more than 3-4 mins, the screen slowly fades to white starting from the sides. then screen freezes but audio is still there. is this fix still applicable with my problem?

Check if its your graphic card by using an hdmi to tv cz mostly its a gpu cause

@@vireshraj1907 bro i opened the screen screws and follow the instructions as per video. Screen plugs place was different in my laptop. I unplug and plug. And it works.
There are two types lcd plugs in the in laptop screen. One under the keypad. Other behind the lcd screen.
Try to unplug and replug both.

Are there any Tutorials on how to fix a Windows 10 White Screen on Booting up or Startups?
My Lenovo flex 3 screen is blinking since this morning, was working well yesterday. I have tried to switch it off, unplug the AC , disconnect the battery to no avail.
Beside what you presented in this video what other possibilities that may cause this white screen issue. Still my laptop is white screen. The external display works.

In my case I tried to connect to other monitor via VGA and HDMI and had no luck. So I thought I need to replace graphics card, which I did, and no luck. I reconnected video cable, wiggled it - same. Should I try to replace monitor with video cable then?
Or try to replace CPU?

Beccsz usually it's just clips, just use a flat tool to get in between the plastic. What type of laptop is it?
it's an Acer Aspire E1-570G
Beccsz that one might have 2 screws on the bottom left and right of the bezel under 2 little black covers, if not then it's just clips

Hello. I have a Toshiba c55 and i am dealing with the same broblem as well. Laptop starts just fine and then white screen. I follow your steps and it worked only for 5 to 10 minutes. I did the same thing more than 6 times. When the screen is unmounted it works when is mounted it works only for a while. Could it be a problematic socket? Do i need a new screen? Gpu works just fine
Sounds like it could be the LCD cable itself, does it work fine when plugged into a external monitor?
Hello again. I am on my parents house and it's Easter holidays right now in Greece. Stores are closed. All i have is an old monitor and a DVI cable. External monitor works fine. Perhaps need a new a lcd cable. I used to think Toshiba is a decent brand but not any more. This laptop is barely used. Anyway ty for your response and best wishes to what you are doing.

white screen on my lenovo g585, I first tried connecting and disconnecting the cable did not work still white. Then after testing in external monitor and seeing that it worked I bought a new screen and new cable but still white, I don't know whats wrong😟 any ideas?

EBCtech it comes on when I plug it up and it Wil show the chrome logo but than it Wil shut off again
Make sure laptop is off first. Then Press and hold Esc + Refresh, then press Power. Let go of Power. When a message shows on the screen, let go of the other keys. It should get you into recovery and you can try reloading the software, but you mean need to take it into a pc repair shop.

Hey I just tried this with my asus and it didn't work. The screen is still white... I checked it with the tv and the screen was fine on there, so I don't know what the problem is? :(
Might need new screen, then, possibly flex cable, your graphics card is fine

Vishan Kumar plug in to another monitor through hdmi, if it doesn't display it's graphics card, if it does display then you need a screen

DIY TIME!! Rampersad your LCD is not cracked? Plug it into HDMI TV and see if it displays, if it does then it could be loose connection, or screen, or worst case graphics card

@@meenakshipradeep8126 try reconnecting display connector and see if it works if not you can also plug it in through HDMI or vga to an external monitor, if no display could be graphics chip, if it works than could be display
