If you wanna learn how to solve the maths question: so root x + 1/root x = 5/2 x/rootx + 1/rootx = 5/2 x+1/rootx = 5/2 2(x+1) = 5 (rootx) 2x + 2 = 5rootx (2X+2)^2 = 25X 4x^2 + 8x + 4 = 25x 4x^2 -17x + 4 = 0 Use quadratic formula to solve , also known as mode 3, 3 on calculator or mode 5 , 2 on the new casio calc :D you'll get the ans x=4 or x=1/4 Its always good to check if x fits the equation, so: sub x back into equation, and see if it gives back 5/2 Since Both give you the correct ans, hence no need to reject either answer. I may have made some calc error cuz i did this at 3am in morning
