I also own a C&Cmk1. It never ceases to amaze me how differently set up these boats have become over the years. And no doubt, so many of them started out from the factory with different interiors. Mine doesn't have doors for the v-berth, and the door to the head is a slider, not hinged. Mine has two water tanks, not one.
But they are always fast. In winds above 15, I am usually above 6knots over the water. In twenty-five of wind, I put in two reefs and feel perfectly in control.

Hello Rick: What year is your 30? I think a lot of the interior changes came about when they switched the window configuration from the aluminum-framed ones to the newer flush-mounted, glued in type. Your interior configuration is consistent with the several of the older type that are here in Manitoba. One of these belongs to a friend who is the secretary of our Y.C. His does not have the extra cabinets over the settee berths, nor does it have the teak and holly plywood cabin sole that were fitted to mine. Both boats are as delivered from the factory insofar as these details are concerned.
Mine does have two water tanks, one under the starboard settee berth, and another triangular one under the veeberth, both rated at 24 gallons. Like yours , mine gets up and romps when the wind gets up, but it is not the fastest boat in very light air - which is consistent with its being (apparently) the stiffest of all the boats that C&C manufactured.

Oops, I misspoke. The mast is keel stepped, not stepped on the deck like a C&C 27. I should know, having rebuilt both the mast stringers and mast step over the winter....

I was going to correct you but you already did. I notice the mast in the cabin is covered. What did you use?

@@saileyboy Hmm, I did not make this thing, but it appears to be a leather-like vinyl material, with a bit of a plush liner on the inside, and secured to the mast with velcro where it overlaps on the forward side. If you want to send me an email address I can send you some better photos of that and/or anything else you would like to see.
