this printer works awesome i have never used one like this before took me literally 5 minutes to figure it out, never read the directions nothing i went by what this video showed me and i made all my labels with no problems i am very impressed with this label maker. i'm a gunsmith not into all this fancy label making but this label maker makes it so easy
The chain print is for making parcel ribbons with a repeated print ie just for you just for you just for you etc. Select how many ‘copies’ of the phrase you want and it will print with a very small margin between each phrase.
@@okanaganvalleyvegan7051 I had a Dymo label maker and it printed right up close to the end of the tape. If I wanted more space I had could add it as I needed it. It finally gave out after about 12 years of use. They don't make that one anymore.
Try to save tape by narrowing the margin on the right, and it expands the margin on the left to ensure you can waste as much as possible (to buy tape more often, of course). I just bought the 110 and don't like this one bit. I'll be looking for another machine that doesn't screw you like this, even it it's a cheap no-name Chine-made.
Ridiculous that setting the margins at Narrow result in a useless leader that I then have to cut off. I wouldn't have bought the P-Touch if I'd known it was so wasteful of tape.
I've been using Brother label printers for years and the ones with the older style cartridges never had this issue to this extent. Sure they had a bit of margin but this is ridiculous.
I just checked, the minimum required margins are double the size of the PT-65 and PT-85. So they literally made an inferior product to their older printers.
Yes. They could have designed this differently. I had a Dymo label maker and it printed close to the edge of the label. It finally quit on me. It was over 10 years old. I'll continue to use this label maker. But I will look around for another one that can print like how my old Dymo label printed.
In my opinion, they all waste similar amounts - you just choose to place it before, after or 1/2 at each end. But still better to set smallest margin width unless you need a set size
I could not figure out how to not press ok till I watched this. I love having the ability to chain print but I wish I could make multiple labels then print in chain all at once
Before i maybe would have said that it is a bad design that makes it waste tape on the front... But nowadays I'm sure that it's made like a this on purpose to make you waste more and more buy new tape faster.. I'm using dymo now, exactly same label on dymo are 50mm and about 75mm on brother.. So no matter of settings will waste way more tape. Sad but true.
Hi there, thank you for the tip, but I am still getting a large amount of margins to the left. before the two dots Any idea how to get rid of this? Bye
If Brother figured where to print the two dots, then you know they could stop the tape so the blade would cat at those two dots - SO THEY WOULD STOP WASTING PAPER 100%. They're either incompetents or they figured the customers are fools.
Actually, because of the lamination technology, there's a long distance from the printing head, up to the cutter. The waste is unavoidable since it has to push the text beyond the cutter.
Hey Ivy. I'm coming from a DYMO label maker and I'm flabbergasted that I need to use scissors if I want narrow margins on the PT-H110. Do you happen to know how to use the PT-H110 with narrow margins without having to grab a pair of scissors? Do I pretty much just have to use the Full margin? Thanks and I appreciate the channel!
If you're looking for a narrow margin you will need to go to "Menu" and arrow until you see "Margins" and click "OK". Once you've done this you will see your options are Full (1"), Half (1/2") and Narrow (1/6"). For a narrow margin you'll want to arrow to "Narrow" and click "OK". This will give you a 1/6" margin. However due to the internal cutter blade there will be a 1" tape leading your printed label in order for the label to pass the cutter blade per Brother. In order to guarantee equal measurements on each side of your label, you will see a dotted line, if you cut along here this will guarantee equal sides. I use the scissors trick if I'm printing a lot of labels, its the only tip I've found to help beat that cutter blade!
@@labelmaker having the same issue, but why on earth would they require that inch to "pass" the cutter blade? It's on the leading edge of the tape so as soon as the rest is printed it would be passing the blade. This extra lead is awful. I wish they would let us change it.

I've had this for years and this is the first time I've had problem with it. Any help would be appreciated!

I bought the H110 recently and would like to know if I can interchange tapes and how to limit the tape feed waste during the process? For example, if I am busy printing on yellow tape and I want to switch over to white tape for something else. How would I go about doing this and without wasting tape? Thanks! Mari

Does that make sense? I'm going to try and find a better labelmaker where so much tape isn't wasted. Thanks anyway.

This machine is great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxw55tQTywUAAOsbrlwxONZULry77sFF1Q and the blue/green color matches the rest of the accents in my office. My favorite part is how small the footprint is. It’s less than 1/4 the size of my regular printer.Set up was fairly easy. Seller will email you a link with video instructions Which I found to be more helpful than the written instructions. I use a Mac and had no issues. They even included an adaptor for USB to USB-c which is great because I’m always losing mine! I had a few issues getting the labels to print properly and wasted quite a few sheets. You need to play around with the settings to get everything adjusted just right. If you have the wrong settings, it’ll crop off the edges or feed through blank labels. These aren’t issues with the machine though, just user error.
Also, can this Printer take Tape that is already sticky ? Like, Tape you only had to Cut off and already be able to stick it to something without having to get rid off the foil first.
@@KifF2603 , No, that's not possible. Inside the machine, the tape passes between rollers, so a tape without backing paper would stick to those rollers, right?
