Since a few days there's an update for Logic 10.7.x and M1. It's working. Some things are different, but i think better. The control bar issue will be fixed with the next update. Just to let you know. (Update is in your acoount at nektar)
I’ve been trying to get my p6 working with logic since Christmas. I’m really hoping this helps. Thanks for sharing. 🥺 I’ve been getting so discouraged! It’s my first time trying any of this and I’m regretting choosing logic AND my p6 right now.
Hi Ian - thanks for responding. I use Logic Pro. Recently ordered NI Komplete Kontrol S49. My Mac Mini did not recognise the keyboard, then Surface Controls recognition is erratic, software loading produced eventually worked, but produces one neutral sound only. The S49 does not appear in the Audio MIDI Set Up. Tried uninstall, but some NI components remained. Most www guidance applies to older Macs only. Free Amplitude plug in has produced problems (how do I get rid of it ?), Auvatool issues also. Considering factory reset, but my Mac came with Logic pre installed - will I lose it ? S49 does not offer Rosetta 2 options. I will prob send it back for a simple option. Maybe Nectar T4, M Audio Oxygen 49. Best wishes
@@IanJCole I am back with good news! I went ahead and bought the p6. I had alot of trouble trying to get it to work with logic pro. So I emailed the company's support email. They sent me some steps to walk through, and it works!!!! Faders work, knobs work, record, play, stop, loop all work. I had to turn product off, delete the logic pro preferences file, re install appl support file and turn on product and start up logic.... blam! It works!!!!
Thanks for sharing!! I’m working in Reaper as well. I was looking for a control surface for it and found the nektar. Says in the description on sweet water that it’s supports reaper. I was excited. And been looking for videos for weeks of any one saying it works. Finally found yours. Nice. So sad to hear that it’s not working. It’s going to make me go back to Protools until they find a fix. Did you end up getting it to work? Did they send you a work around?
@@IanJCole also try some of the stuff he did in his video. Maybe something he did could help. I tried with my command 8. It will not work with any other DAW but protools 🤬
I just emailed them last week as I'm looking at the P6. Their tech support person replied that she had "no time frame" for when M1 software would be done. Great job, Nektar! Apple's only on their 2nd iteration of a chip and you guys can't get caught up with the first!
Hi Ian. Thanks for your video! I’ve had the same issues with my brand new P1 and Mac Mini M1. I only use Logic Pro. After a few uninstalls/reinstalls of the Apple support drivers, including the actual P1 instance in the Audio-Midi Utility, I managed to get it to work with Logic Pro. I could get the various modes working with Logic (Mixer, Instrument, Transport) but Logic has become really unstable. Sometimes, I need to open a project like 4-5 times as Logic crashes very often at start-up when my P1 is plugged in. Another thing I do is opening a Project in Logic and plugging the P1 once the project is open. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Obviously, I’m on Rosetta 2 only. Is your P1-Logic Rosetta integration stable? Any advice?
hi Gustavo I don't have any problems with Logic but as I said I am using the Rosetta 2 - there are clearly problems with the P1 and native logic I don't find using Rosetta 2 slows down logic so my advice is to use Rosetta go to Get Logic info and you'll find a tick box
@@IanJCole thanks. I was already on Rosetta 2 and having these issues. I have reached out to the Nektar support team which are trying to help. Fingers crossed
I have intermittantly dodgy performance with M1 Air and P6 keyboard in Mainstage. Nothing too major but my patch select buttons stay lit up when not selected, but only sometimes. Although it's not too serious, it gets confusing when you have two patch buttons lit, and who knows what else is wrong with the software that we can't see? I've had a few random USB disconnects when using the P6, disconnects which never happened on my last MacBook pro from 2014.
@@IanJCole I've now reluctantly given up on Mainstage and the P6. An embarrassing experience with stuck notes and random USB disconnects in the middle of a gig last week was the final straw. The whole thing is a great idea on paper but in reality for me it's too unreliable to have any confidence in and Nektar's support of the product is woeful. I don't think the firmware has had an update since Sierra.
Thank you for this. Good to know! How is it going now? I'm about to buy a P1 and am on the next OSX Monterrey now. Any feedback at this point is greatly helpful.
Hi greg I ended up selling my p1 as nektar never resolved the issue I now use an xtouch which works great with logic i would find out if nekar have solved the issue before buying take care Ian

thanks Andreas I've pinned your message cheers Ian
OK. So the 'rosetta' tip for Logic just saved me a few days of troubleshooting. Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
And a year later (end of 2022) Nektar STILL don’t have it sorted. Mustn’t rush these things! Think I might ditch the P6 and get a Launchkey MK 3.

Thank you - I need a midi controller, for my Big Sur, M1 system. I am 65 & installation is so complicated - it is beyond me. What do you recommend?
Hi Colin I'm looking to buy a Behringer X-Touch because I need motorised faders and I believe it will work well with Reaper DAW which DAW do you use?

Did they update this issue?
Hiya Not as far as I know I ended up selling my P1 for an X touch
Nope. Tech support said "no timeframe" for when support for Mx chips would be ready. I was going to buy a P6 but no thanks.

I'm interested at looking at the x-touch too

Just wondering if you have any new information regarding the Panorama software being "worked on" by Nektar since you posted this in April
Hi David no update for reaper it seems to work ok with Logic but I've sold mine as I can't wait anymore ;o(

I should add that if I don’t plug the P1, Logic works perfectly well. So clearly an issue with the controller and its drivers

About a year later and I am still having exactly the same issue. I am working on a ReaLearn Setup if anyone wants to help with that.
If you Still have this issue, I can Help resolve it pretty quick.
