- Jeremy Allen White is Bruce Springsteen in the new trailer for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. In theaters October 24.
From 20th Century Studios, “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works-a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.
Starring Jeremy Allen White as the Boss, the film is Written for the Screen and Directed by Scott Cooper based on the book “Deliver Me from Nowhere” by Warren Zanes. “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” also features Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s long-time confidant and manager, Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Doug, Odessa Young as love interest, Faye; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mom, Adele; Marc Maron as Chuck Plotkin and David Krumholtz as Columbia executive, Al Teller. Arriving only in theaters October 24, 2025, the film is produced by Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson and Scott Stuber. Tracey Landon Jon Vein, and Zanes executive produce.
At the end of the film, Timothée Chalamet's Bob Dylan walks into frame and goes "I'm putting together a team..."
When he asked Austin Butler, Butlers reply was, "thank you, thank you very much."
Austin Butler as Elvis, Taron Edgerton as Elton John, Rami Malik as Freddie Mercury. The villain is revealed to be John C Reilly as Dewey Cox.
And after that, a villain seated on a throne smiles...and it's revealed to be Chris Thompson, singer for Manfred Mann.
That's the funniest thing I've read on youtube in a long time! Thanks for the laugh.
@@estebansteverincon7117 literally who??
I love how White captured Springsteen's essence rather than trying to look like or imitate him. This has a great cast and should be enjoyable.
Truthfully I wasn't too happy about Jeremy playing Bruce. He nailed it. Can't wait to see this.

Exactly. Acting is not about imitation or resemblance. It's personal interpretation.
Totally sold. And I love that they're not aiming for a full life story, instead picking it up at a time when the biz around him wanted one type of album and he gave them something else entirely. Springsteen doesn't get enough credit for his willingness to take big risks.
Yeah, I *like* biopics like Bohemian Rhapsody, but RUclipsr Patrick Willems isn't wrong when he says biopics like this, which focus on an aspect of or time period in a person's life are usually better than the kind that try to tell a musician's whole life story. As he points out, these often fall into a predictable formula: musician on verge of big comeback concert flashes back to entire life, we see musician's childhood issues that musician must face and overcome by the end, musician starts off in small venues, musician wins over skeptical record producer with [insert well-known first hit], musician interacts with/gets advice from other legendary musicians, musician's fame takes off, musician gets mired in dark side of fame with (a) infidelity (b) substance abuse (c) mental heath issues (d) any combination thereof, often leading to rupture and/or breakup of first marriage, musician enters rehab/psychological treatment where they learn to deal with aforementioned childhood issues, musician reconciles with spouse or finds new love, musician stages comeback, we end on aforementioned triumphant comeback concert, freeze frame and superimposed text. Patrick also points out that if Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox story had been a success, musician biopics would no longer follow that formula because that movie skewered each and every one of these tropes so beautifully.
"not aiming for a full life story" well that would be hard considering he's alive and well
So...like the Dylan movie
Judging from the clip from what looks like The Power Station recording studio, where Born in The USA was recorded, we might get a look at what happened after Nebraska too!
@@AndyClancyNY: Maybe as a sort of contrasting epilogue to show that after doing the introspective album he needed to do, he could still have a breakout hit after that. Maybe that helps illustrate the "repair the world" line.
I was 14 when Born in the USA broke the top 40 and I became aware of Bruce Springsteen. The family I babysat for had a top of line stereo system, and the dad was a huge Springsteen fan. One night, curious, I pulled out the LP of Born to Run and put it on. I still remember sitting on the living room floor as Thunder Road washed over me, amazed. I must have played that album 100 times on that family’s stereo. I can’t thank them enough.
thunder road does indeed was over,in times of stress i find it very clensing
Thunder Road will ALWAYS be it for me🥰
I was 5 yrs old remember getting a Sony Walkman for my birthday and a cassette of Born In The USA from aunt and uncle when they came to California from Jersey. I have always been proud of my east coast roots even though I was a west coast kid.
This made me cry. What a beautiful memory
I've known the lyrics to Thunder Road for years. When my oldest daughter was very little, I would sit on her bedroom floor up against her bed and sing her to sleep with Thunder Road. What shocked me was that by the time she started school, she could recite the entire song back to me!! Have a huge love for that song.
I remember when nobody knew who Jeremy was as an actor it's amazing seeing how far he's come as an actor
Lip made me a forever fan. Such an unbelievable performance
Which Jeremy though
Wow you knew him first you’re so cool 🤡
And when exactly was that?! Everyone saw him in Shameless… Shameless was a HUGE show, lol.
...as an actor, he's a great actor, as an actor.
I grew up about 20 miles from Bruce Springsteen, also had a difficult childhood and as a high school student, liked to write. In 1978 an English teacher asked me if I liked his music and I said, "I can't understand what he's singing." The teacher told me to pick up the Darkness album and read the lyrics as I listened. When I heard the words from Adam Raised a Cain, "Daddy worked his whole life for nothing but the pain, now he walks these empty rooms, looking for something to blame" I had found my favorite artist. While many were saying, "What the hell is he doing!" when Nebraska was released; I enjoyed sitting in my room and listening to the hauntingly dark and powerful songs. Looking forward to this movie!
He’s an absolute poet. I’m an English Prof & I’ve not only sat thru seminars on his writing, but I’ve taught entire sections of Creative Writing on his lyrics and has students really connect with him who had only heard of him, but never “heard” him before. I’m excited to see what they’ll do with this.
I grew up in Eatontown, about 10 miles from Asbury. I was 14 in 1978 and Darkness grabbed me and never let me go. Even now at 61, when I listen to that album I drift back all those years to that 14 year old kid I was.
My two favorite Bruce albums.
Darkness being number 1

I met Bruce Springsteen when I was in hospital one Christmas over a decade ago. It was very brief, barely a nod, but he would come in to see his godson and play guitar with him regularly. He was so quiet, unassuming. Seeing this side of a musician I had grown up listening to gave me a whole new perspective and respect for the man behind the music. Looking forward to seeing the film. Perfect casting.

Saying he is going to heal the entire world is delusional.
Yup. Casual fans and haters of Bruce will pan it, but those of us in the know, know it's true.
I’ll never forget the thrill of my first Springsteen live concert. 9/15/84, a packed Philadelphia Spectrum. It was the Born in the USA tour. Across the street, at JFK Stadium, Michael Jackson was charging an astonishing $50 for a one hour show. The Boss was charging $12.50 and playing for four solid hours of all out, heart pounding, adrenaline producing rock ‘n’ roll glory. There must’ve been 20,000 or more of us stuffed in that arena and none of us sat in our seats for more than a second. Bruce and the fabulous East Street Band played until we nearly dropped. I remember him screaming, “Are you getting tired?” Hah! Never!!
Is it possible for a single concert to be life-changing?
Yes. I’m from the Jersey shore, grew up on Highway 9. I was a fan of Bruce long before that show. But after that show? I became a disciple.
Bring on the movie.
Although I don't like when he talks about politics. He is the best live performer in history. I'd love to have seen the 80s concerts, but luckily he kept that train running through all the years, giving everyone a chance to experience it.
Wicked story
Your comment will be the reason I go see this movie! Awesome story.
1984? Michael Jackson was with his brothers, the prices were actually not his idea at all. His brothers, father, and the promoted did that.
Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story! MJ's show was 2 weeks prior, cost $30 a ticket, and ran for over 100 minutes according to reviews at the time. It was an expensive production.
born in 77. I was 18 in 95. Tom Joad tour came to Upper Darby, Pa. Tower Theater. I'd been listening to Bruce since I was 7. Nobody wanted to go with me. I never saw him live before. I bought a single and went alone. I've seen him countless times since then. That night in the Tower will always be my most favorite show. There's music and then there's Bruce Springsteen.

I’ve always let Bruce’s music speak for itself, never tempted to look into his life - until now. This wouldn’t be out without his blessing. Looking forward to this.
Love that White didn’t try to look like Springsteen or imitate him but capture his essence. This has a great cast and should be good.
It's called 'Acting'!
I'm very glad that he didn't try to translate Bruce's singing voice into his everyday voice. I personally thought this was a really big issue with Timmy's performance in A Complete Unknown. It just felt very fake given it's not hard to look up these artist's interviews.
Im sure they tried to get him looking as close as Bruce as they could
It actually works a lot better doing that and usually allows a movie to have longevity
That’s how Christian Bale plays his characters he won’t imitate them
@@StephenAldamaman I thought I was the only who realized this with Timothee’s performance! He made him way too nasally half the time. Some coach probably told him he talks how he sings, which is only partly true. Dylan really in reality just sounded like a 60’s stoner. I agree that annoyed me too, but I think it was only half the time. Still great movie I thought
All of my life my friends have told me that they can’t understand what I see in Bruce Springsteen or what I like about his music. And the funny thing is - I can’t really explain it to them. His music speaks to me. It’s a very personal experience that is deep and is real. The phrase “Deliver me from nowhere” comes out of two different songs on the Nebraska album: “Open All Night” and “State Trooper”. That one line described a very specific point in my life when I was going nowhere and my life seemed to have no point. A therapist later diagnosed me as being suicidal and had me sign a suicide contract promising I wouldn’t cash in my own chips. Springsteen’s music gave me an outlet that allowed me describe what I was going through in my own heart and mind, but by using the words of his songs.
I couldn't either until another documentary about him summed it up. Bruce's early songs are about leaving home and finding your world. Dusting off the chains of our hometowns and getting on a motorcycle to find adventure. I discovered him as I was applying to college and dreaming of a new me. He captured my desire to change and grow. When I hear his old songs I feel like they are all about the possibilities and it's thrilling.
Show them a live performance of “She’s the One” from anytime during the 70’s. That will speak for you.
I know exactly what you are saying and where you are coming fron
His music speaks to me too, it's hard to explain. I started listening to him 18 years ago in a dark period of my life, I was going nowhere as well. His music helped me ❤
I started out with Born to run when it first came out,his words can reach deep into a persons soulx@@serena1453
I'm already hooked. The line about finding 'something real in all the noise' perfectly encapsulates what makes Springsteen's music so timeless and impactful. Can't wait to see the whole documentary.

Bruce Springsteen is absolutely garbage
Too bad he tells nothing of the sort now. He and the rest of the pseudo-rebels that fancy themselves "punk rockers" have been completely mum about the jews killing 60,000+ people whose land they stole.
He has been my favorite artist for the best part of my life, since 1978's Darkness. I am originally from the UK and went to America as a dream of mine as a 19 year old largely inspired by Bruce's music. I lived there for 38 years (served 4 years in the army) until the country simply betrayed me in 2016, but the thing about Bruce is that when singing about America he gave me the good, bad and the ugly and he has been right about it all. His music has spoken to me in a way that nobody else's has from the dream and promise of America, to having a similar relationship with my father as he did with his and to all the stories of salvation and redemption. Cannot wait to see this movie. I just listened to the audiobook by the same name and while the narrators voice was tough the story is mesmerizing.

Got to see Bruce myself at the Summer Stage one year when he was a surprise guest for longtime friend of his Southside Johnny. Listening to dad's stories, I always had a strong appreciation growing up for Bruce. His music was always a part of our lives. And I always appreciated that he remained so humble, approachable, the people's rock star, and never once forgot his roots. Indeed he's embraced his roots so strongly they are as forever bonded to his mythology as his music. He is as much a part of the culture and soul of the Jersey shore as salt water taffy and skeeball. Some people forgot Crazy Heart, it was his directorial debut that won Jeff Bridges an Oscar. I absolutely adore Crazy Heart. Black Mass and The Pale Blue Eye from Cooper were really good too
Scott's pretty underrated in general. Not that people don't love his movies. Crazy Heart is great. you must be a teenager LMAO
Gts... This is going to make an old man happier. Hope I get to see it before my river runs dry.
Grew up near exit 5 on the turnpike. In 1976 I was 15, and My father ordered some eight track tapes from Columbia House in the mail. The promotion was order like 10 albums for the price of one, and then you have to pay for another 10 at full price plus shipping/handling. When they arrived, there was tapes from Carly Simon, James Taylor , Boz Skaggs, EW&F, Paul Simon, ELO, and some older stuff my parents liked. In that mix was Born to Run on 8 track. We played it until it melted.
I guess 20th century just loves its musical biopics
What can they say? The formula just works.

I’m really loving unofficial cinematic universe of music-related biopics, just one legendary artist after another, year by year 🙌
Don't forget the best one, Love and Mercy about Brian Wilson
sam mendes Beatles next year
Don't forget Bob Marley - Bob Marley: One Love (2024), Amy Winehouse - Back to Black (2024) and Robbie Williams - Better Man (2024)
@@scipi_oNext year will probably be Michael Jackson (Lionsgate pulled the original October release date so it's likely being delayed), then follow by The Beatles in 2027
Just to play, can I add some other music biopics I've seen
Really nice.

WOW! I honestly forgot I was watching Jeremy Allen White . Bruce Springsteen has a great big heart and you could always hear that in the message of his music . The healing words and sounds in The Streets of Philadelphia .I appreciate the courage and Love in that song . What a great body of work he has produced. Thank you Bruce Springsteen and thank you Jeremy Allen White ! I hope this movie is well received because it comes at a crucial time. I hope it inspires hearts to bring healing instead of destruction. ❤ ❤❤ Like his music .
This brought tears to my eyes. Nebraska was my childhood.
This actually looks good.
Not a massive fan of film biopics but I'm a massive Bruce Springsteen fan and with the people involved in this I am cautiously optimistic!
I am so unbelievably sat
Jeremy Allen White and Jeremy Strong coming for those Oscars! Carmy and Kendall!
He'll have some competition with Brad Pitt for F1 in the Best actor category
@@vincentbarney3091that’s comparable to Tom Cruise in Top Gun Maverick in which he wasn’t nominated. Musical biopics usually earn an award from the performer.
If I got a dollar for every person who said on RUclips some protagonist is going to win an Oscar impersonating some star. Man, I lost count. You are so cringy.
It is a trailer. When the movie comes out 9 out of 10 times nobody mentions an Oscar anymore. LOL
All time performance from Jeremy Allen White incoming!!!!
I love Jeremy Allen White in The Bear and Shameless and I love the Nebraska album. So excited.
I was at the bar at the top of Freddy Segals in LA in 2001. Myself and four friends were the only ones there. Until we looked to our left. There was Springsteen and Patty standing at the bar. We simply said, “Hey, Bruce”. He turned to us and smiled and said, “Hey guys.” Great thrill.
JEREMMYYYYY!! TIMES 2!! I'm so freaking excited - cast is stacked and story looks so raw and real. 😍
Stacked cast + great subject = Can't miss
For anyone wondering, this film focuses on The Boss during the making of his sixth studio album, Nebraska (1982). It'll follow young Bruce Springsteen on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to balance the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
I just finished watching Springsteen On Broadway. During a lot of songs he was playing guitar and harmonica at the same time. I never learned to play either but playing both at the same time can’t be easy.
Yeees! I got the book, I got my guitar in the other hand, I’m gonna wait for this movie no matter what. I know the story but I gotta see it!
Goosebumps. Nothing but goosebumps.
And that's all I needed.
There’s probably a handful of people on the entire planet that can sound THAT identical to Bruce. The fact that one of them is one of our great thespians and not only looks like him but can spiritually embody him is evidence enough that some people are meant. Meant to play some roles.
In tears from the trailer, is that a good sign?
I think so. Me too
Pure talent. No words
Asbury Park looks gorgeous in this
This deserves way more views. Absolutely underrated
Bruce Springsteen bio pic looks awesome
Jeremy Allen White went from living in a complicated family, to being in the kitchen, then a wrestler and now he becomes a Rockstar.
I'm looking forward to seeing it in theaters :)
This is gonna be the best biographical movie since Walk the Line (2005) and A Complete Unknown (2024).
While I was watching Shameless, based in Chi-Town, I was at the time, playing my albums of early Bruce Springsteen and the Band. Sometimes, one of his early albums, followed directly, after Shameless. And one of those times, I thought to myself, this guy could play a young Bruce Springsteen, if there's a, movie done, about his early years. It's a great story, with all kinds of tentacles ! Now, I'm seeing one ? Count me in...put me down. I'm up, for it ! Both of them, have my, deepest respect !
The "iconic music artists" biopics are getting out of control AND I LOVE IT.
They're all terrible.
The Beatles one is next lol
