My hope is that they expand in Binghamton without quality issues. NY could use the jobs. Then, they can expand to the export market to get more McIntosh pieces worldwide. They make a wonderful hybrid amp for under 5k. Give the opportunity to expand and see what happens. Their QC is still top-notch, I love my MA-252. 😊😊
McIntosh's brand carries a premium but remains a niche product, partly due to price and also due to low volume production. I think Bose sees the opportunity to leverage the McIntosh brand on more products and more distribution channels. So we may see more products with McIntosh name on it but mass produced by Bose's manufacturing partners (in China?) and being sell through mass market merchants like Crutchfield.
Nice little video Mike but production wise you need to introduce yourself and your company and then there is a second voice commenting unseen and no graphics. This is a visual medium. Just sayin'. Concept wise, the merger may be better for McIntosh than Bose if you think about market share for Bose, McIntosh, and Sonus Faber - good audio does not have to cost that much. It would be great if they can spread out some great products to a wider market and make a buck in the process to stay successful.
I've owned a few pieces of McIntosh gear and sold it years ago but the fact they still sell parts for Amplifiers they sold in the 60s is unique and special. I don't have any hatred for Bose and own a couple of Headphones and think they get a bad rap generally
After buying multiple McIntosh items their QC was really underwhelming. Hopefully this puts a fresh set of eyes on the brand and the shake things up a bit.

If I go with Logic, they will likely want the McIntosh name for Car Audio and provide McIntosh with capital. McIntosh accounts for about 1.3% of Bose sales. Bose will not increase its revenue materially through the McIntosh SF brands. The market is so specialized and so knowledgeable in the high-end. Think about it, if I knew McIntosh and SF were built in anywhere other than US and Italy I would not buy it. They will kill those brands if they do. So we have to bank on some intelligence.

Most acquisitions don’t go well. Samsung’s acquisition hasn’t really amounted to much. It’s just a money pit, tax shelter or credit card.
