Victoria Rowell is telling the truth ... I pray she wins.
Fast forward all these years later and she IS winning! She’s as producer, a director of multiple series and movies AND she’s back in prime time on CBS! You can’t keep this woman down. She is a longevity fighter and a passionate actor.
I never knew Victoria Rowell was "African American " I've always thought that she was a good looking white woman dipped in caramel.

She’s speaks out about inequities in entertainment because she knows real change starts from within as well as at the top. She’s a brave one indeed and I’m proud of her.

I was so upset when she left Y&R! She was my favorite character on the show. I actually cried when she left. I didn’t know as a white woman that she was going through so much on that show. I loved the Winters family. Starting with aunt Mimi. She was a blessing in herself to be on that show. I remember Victoria’s first day as Drucella. I watched her and immediately knew she was a great actress, she did very well. I always liked when her storyline was upfront in the open. But like I said I did not know that she was going through so much I would’ve left to.

the cream always rises to the top. the problem is the viewers are missing out. bill bell and Victoria's people need to sit down...apologize to one another and come together for the sake of the fans. I love, love LOVED Drucilla on Y&R. Victoria Rowell brought so much fun and 'flava' to the role, there is no one who can take her place. Y&R has been bland since she left. I just haven't had any interest.
Do the world a favor - mend fences bill bell and Victoria rowell! Let bygones be bygones. Increase minority storylines for all races on the show - Asian included. Give us spicy, HOT storylines for everyone and come together for a win over other daytime soaps. That's my two cents!

It isnt just Y&R ...she has been on several movies and prime time shows and NO ONE....and that includes other african americans , can work with her. She is rude, crude and feels she DESERVES special treatment..no one should have to work with someone like that..i certainly wouldnt no mater what their race is

The ONLY REASON I watched episodes of Y&R was because I saw African American Actors on there. NEVER did I agree with the racist, stereotype storyline.
I knew these beautiful Actors had to go along with status quo in order to get paid. But racism always shows it’s UGLY head, some kind of way.

+Jenn Stacey You don't get it...most of the people you listed are either on contract and not on a contract...Leslie was on contract, but now she is on recurring status because Hilary came to town and was put on contract. And the doctor...Dr. Shelby is on recurring status. Neil, Lily, Devon, and Hilary are the main cast member on Y&R as of 2016...and then you have the twins Matty and Matilda are bi-racial and also on recurring status. So Y&R is diverse...they allow many African-Americans as regular (contract) cast member and it shows over the years...Devon mom...Yolanda Hamilton was a regular cast member along with her AMC co-star, who played Sarge was also a regular cast member...I can go on...but the list keeps on going...as Neil had love interest of Tyra Hamilton, Sofie, and Karen. So many beautiful black women were on the show even Leslie brother was on the show and he used to be a regular cast member who was dating Abby Newman and was engaged at one point. Even legendary...Tony Todd played Leslie father in Y&R...and what about Sheryl Underwood from the Talk...she was in the show too. :)
+jamie shannon they are not regular cast member...Leslie was until 2013...when Hilary arrived...they bumped Leslie to recurring and Dr. Shelby was always on recurring status from day one.
The thing is, the African American characters only date each other. Which sucks! You rarely see mixity on Daytime when it comes to couples.
I love and appreciate Ms. Rowell's activism, diligence and knowledge of the racist television industry. To combat racism in Hollywood, I refuse to watch. If we collectively turn off the t.v. they lose money. We have to hit them in the wallet.

I loved Victoria Rowell on Y&R.She added a much needed black character on the show.There was only Mamie on the show played by Veronica Redd. Racism is wrong!!! She played Druscilla brilliantly. My extended family has watched this show since I was a child in the 1970s.

I think another problem with television today is the continued insistence by advertise the television shows have to just appeal to the younger demographic it is ridiculous that shows that are popular with older audience are the ones that are the first canceled when the networks have to make Cancellation to sit in one of the reasons of Shoki be canceled is the show does not appear not to be 18 to 49 demographic

I actually have been out of the Y&R loop for a while, but I never watched it for that. My favorite stuff was the conflict between Jack, Victor, and Adam. I loved all that drama. In fact, talking about it now makes me want to start watching it again.

I'm not trying to mock her at all, but there's something not quite right about her. Look at 0:34 - Granted the lighting in both screens in not the same, but Victoria's face looks like she had cotton in her cheeks and was a victim of a mild burn.

@@lastdays3148apparently black folks didn't think that even black folks were equal amongst each other because indigenous African monarchs would sell slaves (usually from opposing tribes) to Portuguese, British, and French merchants for over 200 years. Europeans would fight amongst each other and so have other sets of people that were similar to each other and within close proximity to each other. It's how the human mind operates unfortunately.
