Trading is mental game, that is why most people lose money because they cannot control their emotions. Because the prevalent idea of our culture is to effortless indulge and focus on their own pleasure and wellbeing, but controlling your emotions is unpleasant and painful and that is why most traders lose money because they don't want to meet the pain. That is why there is so many drugs, alcohol, obese and fat people, broken marriages and adultery.

If you wanna be successful, you most take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life.

As a female futures trader, finding Tori was SO COOL for me. I love her story and that she is so willing to share it in a transparent way. I am finally seeing a lot of success with trading but I'm too scared to share it in fear of all of the "cons" she talked about with social media. I don't have thick skin so having people leave negative comments would kinda kill me 😂 but I also have the drive and desire to help other women gain financial freedom, so it's such a hard place to be in between! So kudos to Tori to being able to share it for us women to benefit from!!

You can't really care about what the internet thinks. I know that's like counter-intuitive to for women sometimes but the one thing that instagram thots (talking about women who purposely objectify themselves) get right is this... they look at their "followers" as a number and not as human beings. What they get wrong is on the flip side they accept those social media validations the same as they would in real life... so there's a bias there. If you want to share something then just make sure you're attached to doing it for it's own sake, knowing that it will most likely have the same effect on somebody else out there that it had on you when you found inspiration.

I purchased the training from your uncle and remembered you in the videos. The main theme is that you learn how to be wrong, and not loose all your money. Because if you loose your money to play, you don't get to play anymore. So loose small and win big. Can you identify early when your wrong, be able to admit it and get out of the trade early. If your wrong, your wrong, and get out of the trade. This is the biggest lesson that is really hard..

  • @The3Natural
    @The3Natural 8 месяцев назад +7

Re: the discipline topic. She mentioned her uncle being very strict and having a structured learning plan for her when she first started. And how she was able to stay on sim for over a full year before transitioning to live. That was the most wild part of this interview. She stayed on sim for a WHOLE YEAR. Tremendous patience, which is the Achilles heel of so many aspiring traders. She built her good habits from the start. In a sense she doesn't have to 'work' to be disciplined with her trading because she did the hard work of cultivating those necessary habits from the beginning.
Also I would say caffeine can be extremely beneficial and performance enhancing, especially taking a recommended dose of caffeine 30 mins before your trading session. And it can help you learn and retain information, if you consume it, say after reviewing trades, journaling, watching your trades back on replay. That's just my way of saying I love caffeine but the science behind it and how it can be useful/beneficial is interesting.

Consistency is key, Managing your risk is key.
Do not go full time if you haven't built capital. 9-5 jobs are normal.
    ....
    Also:
I've learnt that no matter what you do. People will hate online. So all these things gives me an edge when i finally start trading. Lots of lessons just 37 minutes into the premier. Thanks Riz

Good to see how much the psychology matters. Everyone who starts trading thinks that you need to find „the best“ strategy to get profitable, but it is so much more important to not be emotional than to have the „PERFECT“ strategy.

Break - retest is a good fundamental of a strategy, but i would say you have to implement more to benefit from all the oportunities and transform your winners into more profitable ones, be more eficient into managing your trades

Here are some hard rules of trading: 1.When things don't flow it's time to go.
    2.When in doubt stay out.
3.Don't use HOPE as a trading strategy.
    4.Use your own clear thinking.
    5. Constantly analyse your trades and mistakes.
    6. Use a feedback loop to improve your strategy.
    7. Be very selective with your set ups.
8.Establish the risk prior to entering a trade.
    9.Don't fight the trend.
    10. Respect yourself and don't prostitute your spirit by overriding your discipline.
    Be blessed.

i believe you start out coping somebody elses strategy, a mentor, a course, youtube videos etc. but over time you start to trust your gut and trade only certain pairs. You look to deepen your knowledge and slowly you end up with a well reserved strategy, taking different concepts to create a strategy that works for you

What I find very interesting is the topic of social media and those who take the negative side of someone who is trading successfully. If you think about it, those who hate, and make comments about someone who is successful,
Those who make those comments don't have the psychological aptitude to be successful in trading. I heard a comment the other day that we all have to be good losers. And it was said that you will "love losing". Those who bring the negative side have not gotten that concept. Therefore, they will never become profitable trader. A most excellent and very insightful podcast. Thank you, Tori and Riz !
