    I own the 7L lite, 6L Venture (the discontinued saltbrush material, stiffer), and a 10L Venture Camera.
    The 6L Venture actually feels like it can fit more than the 7L lite, because the structure holds it open more. The 7L is better for packing or travel, but I find the Venture better in every other way except for weight and thinness, heavier things don't do as well in the light because of the thinner strap and thinner walls, you'll feel anything heavy in there. But if I knew I'd end up with more than one bag, I'd probably go with a combo of the 7L lite for packing and the 9L for single use.
    But I won't be giving up my 6L venture at any rate. The one thing Belroy slings aren't set up for is tech carry, I do like alpaka for smaller more specialized tech carry (ipads basically), I've had the tech case and tech case mini, they do ok as slings, but Belroy really does have the best strap solution for having something sit nicely against the body, having no dangle, and needing no adjustment once set. Aer makes good big slings for laptop carry. I prefer a sling when possible as it transitions from sitting to standing much more smoothly than a backpack.

      I feel the passion that you have for these bags!
      When I saw the 7L Lite Sling, the pockets weren't enough to organize my EDC items. The lack of internal compartments might also contribute to being able to carry bulkier items. But I did like how packable it was.
      Agree that Bellroy doesn't seem to give priority to tech gear like iPads when it comes to slings, maybe for now. I think it's also a good thing that it gives us a reason to still own an Alpaka at the same time. Each bag has its specific use. But if budget is a concern, most would probably want a sling that could do it all.
      I carried my 6L Venture Sling as a compact camera bag during a recent trip, with the usual phone, wallet, powerbank combo, and it was so convenient!
      I'd love to own one of the Aer City Pack or Pro backpacks one day, it's just not officially available in the Philippines as of the moment.
      Thank you for the support!

      @@shanebellare I am originally from the Philippines, but I moved to Chicago in 1980. If you can manage to find one, my favorite Aer backpack in that size range is the 22L Aer Lunar Pack which is sold by Ministry of Supply. It retails for $170 but they often have 20% off sales, so you can get that bag for around $136 a few times a year. Which makes it the most affordable Aer model that isn't in the "go" line. I dunno if they will ship to the Philippines though.

      Hey, thanks for the tip!@@jonuiuc I'll check reviews out. I think the closest place to PH where we can buy Aer from is Japan?
      Aer is sold in Lazada online but comments say that these are factory overruns, so maybe just to scratch the itch, I'll try buying someday? idk haha
      *edit as of 9-8-2023
      Was able to go through comments of those who bought Aer from Lazada and Shopee and all the reviews say they're legit!

    Great review! I brought the exact same one during my Malacca and KL trip, it’s so versatile and fun to use. I also own 9L in ranger green and still use it as my EDC.
    I also owned premium Tan Leather Sling and Lite Sling in Chalk colorway (but I sold them because it’s not good enough for my EDC needs).
    The PU Bellroy letters in front of my 9L venture sling is already worn away leaving only ‘b’ and ‘y’ 😂. I also washed the sling twice with liquid detergent because of it stinks from sweat and my restaurant kitchen smell whenever I work there.

      Thank you for watching! I'm curious about the 9L , but I feel like I'd be carrying more gear in the sling. Lite sling also looks cool but I am considering their 10L camera bag!
      thanks also for the tip! it's interesting to learn about how this sling is used in the real world, and all the possible wear and tear that could happen. Maybe I can come up with a one year of use video next year. Thank you for supporting the channel! Please watch out for the next sling review which will focus on the Alpaka Tech Pouch. :)

      I think Bellroy slings are best for either mall days or airport days .

      The backpacks however are expensive for me. Maybe they just really need to maintain a premium price point for positioning.

      I’d also go 9L or 10L camera edition if I wanted to place both!
      I find this minimalist carry so comfortable and accessible most especially on days that I don’t want to carry all my camera gear. But yeah, the downside is that I’d have to still bring another bag just for the bottle and umbrella.

    Great video! Is this a good upgrade from the tomtoc edc sling (the smallest one)? I’m abit concerned about the exposed open sides. I’m afraid my airpods would fall out without me knowing so I’m kind of leaning towards the regular Bellroy sling or the Alpaka Go Sling.

    • @shanebellare
      @shanebellare 10 месяцев назад +1

      It's a very good upgrade! materials are better and would definitely last longer. I already see signs of wear and tear on my 7L Tomtoc even if I only use it when I have to bring my iPad Air.
      Was also able to wear this while it was raining so got to test the water resistance. And most of the time, I don't mind the holes/gaps on each end as these are normally covered during regular carrying situations. I'm confident that stuff inside won't fly out. :) They're actually useful for me if my phone is inside and I'm using wired earphones or if I'm charging my phone with a powerbank.
      But I do alternate this with my Tomtoc Arcoss (The 3L+ sling for Steam Deck) most especially when I'm out on errands like going to the bank, or if the rain is a bit more intense.
      Thank you for your comment and watching my review! :)

      @@shanebellare I bought this bag yesterday and while I love the look and even the materials, I'm going to send it back for these reasons: no divider for an ipad (why bellroy!), no handle, organisation sleeves are on the wrong side (presumably the ipad mini goes closer to the body) and no "secret" compartment on the back for a passport. It's a shame because I really wanted to love this bag. I think I will go for the Aer City Sling 3

    • @shanebellare
      @shanebellare 7 месяцев назад +1

      I think that's the thing with Bellroy. They nailed the aesthetics, but there seems to be something always lacking when it comes to functionality. Like there's always a compromise somewhere. Aer's slings definitely win both aspects! Alpaka's slings might also have what you're looking for, as an alternative to Aer. :)
      As someone who's just starting his sling journey and collection, I'll still use Bellroy for certain casual wearing situations, but Aer and Alpaka might be the best slings to bring to the airport or general use for travel.
