Great video-great boat. My very first boating storm was on a Bristol 27. It was such a positive experience that I went on to start Shannon Boat company 3 years later.
What a splendid episode - young enthusiasm is infectious, even for n old salt! A great natural evolution for this channel. It’s the stories that keep sailing alive for those ashore, and I look forward to seeing more of what happened to those yachts you showcased previously. BZ Ran-day for keeping this fresh and interesting.
I really like Dustin’s whole vibe! This was really a great interview! I saw this video at random but he’s a great speaker and I hope he starts creating content about his learning process and his future adventures! Hopefully future good news from him! Thanks for the content!
We def chatted about him starting his own channel. He takes inspiration from Sam Holmes and Magic Carpet so he may just jump in once he gets a handle on the boat. Cheers TJ
@YachtHunters Sam has the personality and talents to where he could probably have his own show on Discovery Channel if he wanted. You're pretty good too, Ran-day. 😊
So happy for Dustin! I’ve known him since middle school and he is such an amazing person and has always spoken so well! He did a great job with this interview and I am looking forward to following his adventures ⛵️ The boat is beautiful 😍 Dus, love how you made it your own! You did a fabulous job! 🙌🏼🫶🏽
What a great follow up on this lovely Bristol. Best wishes to Dustin for many years of fun and adventurous sailing ahead. Thank you Randay for today's video. Hope you are making good progress on your project.
Thanks MEK!! It’s coming along… that’s why i haven’t had a chance to publish as many videos… trying to get closer to splash on my on project boat! Cheers!
Love the Capt Q alumni concept. I’ve seen “Gosling”, the BI 40 that you guys covered around and about in Mattapoisett and on the Vineyard. I’ll keep an eye out for Dustin at MBY
Hi guys, wow it’s wonderful to see what Dustin is doing to the boat/yacht and I’m glad he discovered this issue so close to shore so we can fix it up anyway the still of wonderful yacht. Keep up the good work. Always good to see your channels Randy Cliff from Australia
Bristol Girl here! You are such a kind (bearing gifts) and informative sailor/person. That is just wonderful that she has a new owner Dustin. I am hoping you will be able to capture more follow-ups. Dustin, Happy Sailing ⛵
Good luck, Dustin. We own a 1966 Bristol 27 since 1991. We love the boat and made a few mods to improve it, but in keeping with its vintage. I just discovered a rotten section of that same stern bulkhead just last week. I'll cut out the rotten bit and glass in the hole using epoxy resin and chopped strand mat. Our outboard well brackets are made of stainless steel with a solid teak mounting board for the outboard. It's rock solid. We also looked at the Cape Dory, but it didn't have standing room in the main cabin for serious cruising and living aboard. We are on the hard this year for a full refit of standing rig and new sails for next season.
Thanks Ran-day for another great sailboat story, it’s a good week when one of your videos is out! I had a laugh when Dustin said: WWAD (what would Aladino do). It’s a running joke at my house when we are painting or sanding anything ( a reference to magic carpets you tube channel ). And we thought we were being original.
Dustin will be successful. He’s humble, smart, understands boats and will make good decisions related to his sailing abilities. I would love to follow your journey.
Dustin is an absolute delight, wishing him a long, happy sailing life, fair winds and flowing seas 💖⛵💖 I, too, hope he paints her like the boat on his suitcase, love how he celebrates his art and freedom of expression!
Bless his heart ~ How nice a person to get that Gem. This just shows how love pays off. Thanks Ray for keeping things going 🙏 love Yacht Hunters. Wow at least it was the small engine supports whew. Great lessons for everyone! Dustin did you use dramamine? 😮. I will get haircuts from you in the Caribbean! 😊
@@YachtHunters Oh wow born for it! Anchored and moving is the worst for me 🥵 lol I love Dramamine until I get my sea legs back and start Craving "Dinty moore"!
This is all so fucking awesome, this boat could not have come from a better owner to a better new owner. The energy on both is exactly the energy I want to carry when I get my new boat. Awesome folks.
Muriatic acid is nasty stuff! Do like Bill Clinton and don't inhale. Maybe try oxalic acid for cleaning fiberglass instead. It's a great hull cleaner. The product Starbrite has it and it works well. Good for showers too. Used to find it at walmart. That suitcase is kick ass. Be cool if he paints the boat exactly like that.
Loved this and gave Dustin a follow! Will you all start featuring awesome deals again? Would love to help out if you all need assistance with editing or shooting or anything, shoot me a message!
@@YachtHunters really great idea to follow up on those boats you had featured. Especially when they are super nice people with amazing optimism and outlook.
I am very judgemental. I saw the long hair and earring and made up my mind. But after listening to the new owner for a while, I changed my mind and my goal for myself from now is to be less judgemental and more open mindet in the future.
There's a wonderful Wharram Tiki 28 called ZigZag ... built in the Caribbean.. young U tube couple and two dogs living the life aboard the boat they built colours are wonderful.

It makes sense.. aladino’s mastery is very aspirational… we are all striving for WWAD… 😂 cheers!
Somebody please make the t-shirt! Aladino is an exceptional young man, a master at his craft!
I just watched a few old episodes. I miss Cpt'n Q. He always had such a nice positive attitude and a love of boats.
G'day Ran-day, thanks for this 'back to the roots'episode. Cool as mate. Great little yacht with everyday people loving sailing. Ciao

Agreed! He’s already had some great nights ready and enjoying the sunsets… and now with less water coming in. Thanks
Oh how much I enjoyed this latest..my heart felt good and I’d love more updates with this young sailor and even other boats you saw with captain Q.

@HoytFergus haha that sounds like the right formula!! 😂
What a great idea, and a great video. I often wonder what happens to some of those boats you and Capt. Q looked through.
Hope he will make RUclipss about his adventures! ❤

Congrats Dustin, you should start a RUclips channel!
