I'm currently playing a more laid back and goal oriented run of PZ. All loot and vehicle settings on abundant, easier and lower pop zombies. I used a mod to spawn in at the McCoy estate, and am roleplaying as the youngest son of the family. Because I made the game easier for myself and spawned in a good place where I already have access to a lot of b42 features, my character's quirk is that because they are a rich kid wanting to recapture that life in the apocalypse, they compulsively collect any money and valuables they can off zombies, will go out of their way to loot luxury items as often as they can, and will attempt to always live in the richest safehouses, or make a base in the wealthiest/fanciest area available to them. I am making it a goal to have either a literal pallet of cash somehow, or a few tables laid out with bundles of bills, and I really want to find some of those gold bars and other 'wealth' items. I really like a lot of what you said in this video, and you expressed a lot of my frustrations with the angry mob regarding 42 - it's just not for them, really, but they make it sound like TIS made it for nobody - it's really quite selfish, though I understand the frustration of waiting for 'your thing' to get updated in a game with as slow a development speed as PZ I just really hope this backlash reaction doesn't make TIS conclude that they won't be releasing new content early anymore because of the ungrateful response they've gotten.
@@PixelSlayer247 that is a really solid point. A lot of the criticism of B42 doesn’t come off as fair play to me. Some of it is a little heavy handed, and you’re right that TIS is taking a chance in releasing this stuff to us early- literally a Christmas present- and might conclude that some of the unfair criticism is grounds for playing their cards a bit closer to the chest. In any event, I will do my best to stand as a bastion against the negative vibes. Thank you for your well thought out comment and welcome to the show.

I agree with you 100% I only have around 350 hours in zomboid You definitely gave me a lot of new ideas for some fun shenanigans to do on top of the things I’ve already gotten into. People definitely need to hear your thoughts on this. I don’t doubt that some people could change their minds on quite a few different games
If people put half as much passion into their real life and the goals, as the do into this game, the Philippines 🇵🇭 and America 🇺🇸 would be great countries. It's amazing how much people avoid their problems and the problems of the world, to focus on this game's situations and how to solve them. They will work out their character to get better skills, but never work on themselves in real life 😂

Lol, but a cool alternative is "Knox Event Expanded" which is a pretty rad NPC mod, that adds NPCs that you can recruit, order around, and kill and rob and get raided by. Alternatively there's Bandits, and Week One, which do NPCs in a different way.
The game is really bad at giving you direction about what to do. Which is part of the experience in the apocalypse - there is no objective aside from survival. And nothing is going to telegraph you what obstacles are coming up ahead. Like sure - you can think that you are all set now. But what happens in winter, when fishing and trapping dries up, crops don't grow and all the cans were eaten before? Do you have enough clothes to not freeze to death? Can you maintain fire or fix your clothes? How long can your vehicle last? Will you be able to scavenge all the parts you need to keep it running or will it give out on you? What is your plan B in case you got stranded in the middle of nowhere? And my favourite - what is your character doing to connect with other survivors? Like as a player you know there are no NPCs. But your character doesn't. And if they believe they are the last person alive - how are they coping with it?

One tip for mid-game is to have started in multiplayer so you can have friends pop in when you're actually setup.
