that’s my grandfather driving. man i wish my dad had kept it i would love to see it. My dad gave the xb to Butch (my grandfather) for the cannonball. After the race finished Butch gave it back to my dad…. And after a few years of enjoying it again he sadly sold it for less than $3000. He still regrets selling it till this day and he’s quietly been searching for it ever since but he’s slowly giving up on his mission to find his first car, his first project and his first true love. i hope that car is in safe hands.

Hi Alexander. Thanks for leaving your comment and for the information. We know where only a few of the Cannonball cars are today, but not that one unfortunately. If your Dad has the chassis number he may be able to look it up on one of the vehicle history web sites to see whether it is still, or was recently registered, even if on historic plates. We are always looking for information and photos from the race for the website if there is anything else you would like to share. www.cannonball.info
