Thank you for the video, after watching this I thought it was too much work for a remote control, so i crushed up tin foil flattened it out, folded it over and cut the square to sit in the rubber footprint. it worked on my ps trigger and it's worked again on the remote control.
.....No luck.. didn't use it for 10 years...Panasonic Remote N2QAGB000002, I just sprayed some Rubbing Alcohol and later sprayed and washed the Circuit board with Rubbing alcohol and Contact Cleaner. ONLY the Power button on the Remote is working. What could be wrong?
Can you guide me whether rubber is conductive or not? On instrument it is showing 10^4 but when I connecct to electrodes, the bulb is not showing on...I oblige if you guide me. I can share picture or video to you on your email id.
Silicone rubber is not conductive in itself. It's the "carbon pills" put underneath that make the conduction between the PCB traces. These carbon pills are a mix of rubber silicone and carbon powder (carbon is the cheapest, but gold/silver/etc.. pills can be produced.)
Thank you for contributing so much to my DIY nature. I have fixed at least 6 remotes thanks to you!
