Lava cart looked dope but you’re one of the few people who have a good video on it. Thanks man! Definitely getting one.
Dope! Thanks for sharing your experience and tips. Happy creating!
Just ordered the lava cart today. Will definitely be doing your c-stand hook hack!
I hope it works out as well for you as it does for me. Such a life saver on set
Really great video.
I totally copied your bike hooks for 2 carts.
If you slightly drill out a mounting hole in the bike hook to take a 5/16-18 screw (just like the official RR shelf screws), I used molded plastic handled parts and the fit is super super secure and you don’t have to fiddle with the little hardware.
At Lowes: Hillman fluted knob w/male stud 5/16-18 x 1-3/4 (round) and Hillman clamping knob w/ female insert 5/16-18 (triangular).
It looks totally pro too.
Thanks for the great ideas-!
Thanks for the tip!! I’m glad it worked out for u! I will look into the plastic handle parts as well.
Just found your channel. Great info. Thanks for sharing.
I dig the vertical stand to mount your tripod head!
Love the video great ideas definitely going to implement some of them into my build, I'm planning on building a cart from scratch from stuff from the hardware store might try to make a video on it as well
Bravo, appreciate the hacks you shared here. Very informative.
This is a great review. In-depth, comprehensive, and honest. One question, has anyone try the Lava products with the Gator utility cart? It’s a little more expensive than the Rock and Roller but seems sturdier.
I personally have not tried the Gator carts but they do have two that is compatible on their website.
Sick, thanks for sharing
Lot of value here!!!
this was a very specific video that i needed to see
Great video thanks tor the hacks and tips!
Great video! And Great name as well! ;)
the bike hooks are genius lol
thanks for the video, dude!
Love the title dude.
This video is gold
So how much does everything add up to? seems around 800-900 with accessories. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger because I already have a r12 stealth or picking up on of Pro aims Entry level carts for 900-1100
So if you gave the wheels already you are in great shape. The shelves were around 500 and I spent about 130 in accessories. So yes the total came a little over 800
Would be great to have a lot more b-roll of the cart
Subbed! Great review ordering one of these today! Hope you are getting a kick back!
How did you attach your camera? We're looking to build a budget production cart that we can mount two 27-32" monitors and a BMPCC4k (possibly w/ a Glide Gear teleprompter) to the top shelf, but the concern I keep having is that most guys building DIY carts on RUclips have their cameras clamped to one of the four corner rods, but we really need ours to be center-set...
What's your email I can send you a quick clip of how I have my camera mounted
on the cart. But I clamped a rod from a cheaper cstand to the cart and at the top of the rod I clamped a tripod head to sit the camera on top of that.
Great!
film making for dumbasses!! ROFL great video man, you should reach out to Lava cart for an affiliate deal. Definitely looking into it.
Thank you! I have been in touch with them. Hopefully something in the future can happen.
I just purchased an innovative cart….I’m heated…sigh
Need more b-roll of the cart, or footage of the cart and less footage of just you talking
Everyone else enjoyed how bout you make one. Thanks for the view
