Emily is an amazing actor. It's amazing to see how her acting has improved over time, and I've been here long enough to no that.

My students and I laughed SO HARD on the "long awkward exit" portion of the video. SO. FUNNY. Comedic timing was killer. The SILENCE was hilarious. Great idea (or non-idea?)
Love this video! I've been here since 2013 Film Riot and these more recent videos have reminded me so much of old school Film Riot, and I love that! I've been missing the sketches so much and they feel like how they did before but with more professionalism behind them! Great episode!

I like the professional movie type videos you're doing but i can see those sort of scenes just about anywhere, and honestly i come here for these type of videos.

If you get a chance, check out the behind the scenes stuff for that ghost (and a bunch of the other ones in the new movie). They actually had the actress in full costume on set with the neon lights and everything so there'd be something tangible for Kate, Melissa, and Kristen to see and react to. They did a lot of old school work mixed with new tech on this one, I was pleasantly surprised.
Loved the Tie-In with Variant's "Evolution of Ghostbusters" Episode! Now that's good writing and continuity... lol

The movie is getting shit reviews though? Like, I'm thankful to see another Film Riot episode, and it's great that you're tackling something that is in recent film, but to say it's getting good reviews is unfortunately simply not true.
LasersGoPew208 I did a Google search. Critics are giving it a 7 roughly, while users give it a 4-5. So no. Not a decent review, since most critics can't be trusted
LasersGoPew208 Also, my own opinion xD I haven't seen the movie yet, so I cannot comment on its goodness or badness. I've just seen several user reviews that I personally trust more than random critics, and they slam most of the movie because of its simply unfunny nature.
***** Yeah, it's not going to be the worst movie ever lol. I highly doubt any movie can really get that outside of Bunker of Blood or The Room or anything that's literally too bad to even watch. Dragonball Evolution came close too.
+Rebooted Well, for movie reviews 7 is not bad, it just means regular or average (above average for some that use 5 as average).
It's certified fresh in Rotten Tomatoes.
But for pictures like this I regard more user reviews, professional reviewers seem to hate science fiction and fantasy, so their reviews don't really reflect the quality of the movie.

Film Riot I hope one day in the near future I sit down in a movie theater ready to watch one of your films. You guys have made me laugh since 2009, I was about 10 years old when I started watching you guys. Now I'm 16 and I have so much film knowledge, I hope to one day meet you guys. I'm also in the process of saving up money and buying equipment to start making short films and use my film riot knowledge. I just started with special effects recently and on some of these videos i have no idea what your talking about when you show how to do the effect, (i use hitfilm 4 express) could you maybe do a video on the basics of compositing?

+Benish Ben did you see The Jungle Book? It is not a shot for shot it's basically just a more Disney-ish adaption of the original book. The only thing they really kept was two of the songs.

Awesome skit and tutorial as always, Rye guy! I was trying to figure out why I didn't find that silent bit funny even though it seemed like it should've been. And I think it's because there was pretty much no sound at all. Perhaps if we could hear Arris' footsteps as he walks backwards and the sound of him opening the door, it could've landed. But whatever, still love it!
Anyone else see Arris(?) dancing to the theme song in the corridor? So funny 😂
The overall glow adjustment layer, I sort of prefer the version without it, mostly because the extra bits of blue on the empty hall space is a dead giveaway for a digital color filter. Is there a way to apply that adjustment layer to the walls and ghost but not the empty void between in the hallway?

She played with a ouija board for fun and ended up accidentally calling evil spirits she couldn't control. Since then, she assumes every spirit means them harm. It is continuity. ;)
