MERCATOR SAILING PART 2: COURSE and DISTANCE

Part 2 of the topic "Mercator Sailing". This video introduces the calculation in determining the Course and Distance . An Instructional Material for maritime students under the program Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation taking up the course NAV 3: Terrestrial and Coastal Navigation 2. The 3rd part of the 2nd main topic of the course: SAILINGS. Though the video introduces the use of calculator , students are advised to calculate/solve sailing problems by manual calculation alone and using the tables first. In this way, students will learn the very basic of the said topics. Later, students can validate and check their work with the aid of calculator and other devices and applications to solve sailing problems. The topic/lesson can be best understood/learned through solving manually the exercises.
