The judges frequently group things that are similar in the context of the question into one category, but this was definitely the most wildly illogical and just plain stupid grouping, ever. I would expect 'basketball' and 'water polo ball to be in one category, but there are no hoops in any way associated with most other ball games and it makes no more sense to allow 'baseball' or 'soccerball' for that answer than it would to allow
'highball'.
I suspect there were so many people in that group of 100 that were too lazy or stupid to write out basketball that the decision-makers felt compelled to go this way. They should just automatically throw that question out until they figure out a better way to phrase it in a later survey. They do recycle questions that have been used before in later shows.

I was thinking hard on the hoop question but then I came to realise that the number one answer was 'ball' so any thing to do with ball comes under it, baseball, basketball, soccer, etc.. The most illogical question was the woman question, 'name something a woman picks up?' she can pick up any thing! a stone, a baby, a baseball bat, a hat...etc!
Diamond/wedding/engagement ring? As for the hoop thing, sealion/dolphin or children jump through hoops, as well as even adult partners if one is narcissistic enough.

@@evalu3260 Actually, it has happened to a handful of families: Burgess, Gaines, Roberts, Harris, Janes: they won Fast Money on their fifth and final day. But it doesn't happen too often though.
The reason why the lady in pink puts up good answers is because she thinks for a second before answering. People don't realize that you have a moment to think between each question.

Somebody should have thought this out. An item that does not ever go through a hoop should not have been the correct answer regardless. It would Boggle my mind to actually believe that in a survey of a hundred people 40 of them said baseball. It would then Boggle my mind that the judges would include all balls including those that never go through hoops.
Actually those points were the sum of every type of ball people mentioned, that's why they didn't accept basketball and soccer ball. His answer made no sense, but it was a ball, so he got the points.

They battle 5 families over 5 days, if they win the normal game 5 times they get the car, if they win they get to play fast money which can net them $20k if they get 200 points, so pretty simple but extremely hard to complete since the last rounds can allow a family with 0 points to win the game but these guys won every game, won fast money twice and got the car!

Ohhhh, judges! You blew that hoop question totally! According to your ruling, 'highball' or 'eyeball' would have been acceptable. You should put that question on a survey of people who have enough sense to specify which kind of ball or come up with other answers like 'circus lions', 'variety show dogs', 'Hoola hoop dancers', or 'beer barrel staves'. The question was "Name something that GOES through a hoop", not "COULD go through a hoop". Baseballs do not go through hoops. They can, but they don't normally. Anything CAN go through a hoop that is big enough (even a supercluster of galaxies), but relatively few things DO go through a hoop. GET IT TOGETHER, JUDGES!!!

That made no sense. Not all balls go through a hoop. There are no hoops in baseball. This is one of those times when the judge's broad interpretation of the answer is dead wrong. Football and Soccer do not go through "hoops", either. I'm honestly shocked Steve let that slide and didn't call the judges out. you could even see the guy cringe when he said "baseball" like he blew it.
