The judges frequently group things that are similar in the context of the question into one category, but this was definitely the most wildly illogical and just plain stupid grouping, ever. I would expect 'basketball' and 'water polo ball to be in one category, but there are no hoops in any way associated with most other ball games and it makes no more sense to allow 'baseball' or 'soccerball' for that answer than it would to allow 'highball'. I suspect there were so many people in that group of 100 that were too lazy or stupid to write out basketball that the decision-makers felt compelled to go this way. They should just automatically throw that question out until they figure out a better way to phrase it in a later survey. They do recycle questions that have been used before in later shows.

The question was "Name something that GOES through a hoop", not "COULD go through a hoop". Baseballs do not go through hoops. They can, but they don't normally. They battle 5 families over 5 days, if they win the normal game 5 times they get the car, if they win they get to play fast money which can net them $20k if they get 200 points, so pretty simple but extremely hard to complete since the last rounds can allow a family with 0 points to win the game but these guys won every game, won fast money twice and got the car!
