Hey Courtney! I have some questions about the calculator. Is there a FAQ page or video I should watch or what's the best way to get the answers to my questions? I don't want to bog down this post with questions. Thanks so much!
@shatiagodfrey1079 Hi! What does it look like? If you purchased this one, it should look like this. Keep in mind it has a template for Microsoft Excel and one for Google sheets. I am using the Google sheets template here so that may be the difference. Make sure you're clicking the right link.
My apologies, I didn't see the cake quotes tab. This is very helpful. I already put in one of my cake costs. I typically charge mileage by the mile, but factoring time as well gives you the full mileage cost.
@@shatiagodfrey1079 oh ok! I’m glad you were able to figure it out and already started adding your info!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 always feel free to reach out with any more questions.
I just started selling cheesecakes! I did the market research and came up with a price. Cheesecake is so nuanced, you could have my same recipe and it would not come out the same. I started with $45 for the one layer and $60-$65 for my three layers. I market to affluent areas. If you frown up your face when seeing my price or give me the story of how you could go to Walmart or other location, you aren't my customer. No harm, no foul.
Thats actually very reasonable pricing. Maybe if you showed the cakes again up close at the end of the video people could see how big and beautiful they are. Definitely worth the price with all those details and servings. Nice job.
Thank you so much for sharing! You information is very helpful. I know some people are losing their minds regarding the proce, however I feel that they don't understand what it takes to prepare your items. Please, keep doing what you are doing. Anyone who understands will not have a problem with the price. Excellent product may cost an excellent price. I love watching and learning from you. Thank you again.
I think since it's all home made, it's worth the price. They are beautiful cakes. Thank you for sharing the business side of things. I like seeing the calculator, too. May you always be blessed on your journey!
Thank you for going over this more detailed. Question I had you already answered for another lady. I will def grab this calculator. I tend to underpay myself being a people pleaser. This is more than fair prices for 6 beautiful filled and stacked cakes. I must say, you were working very efficient to turn out such great work in a small span of time.
So happy I found your page. Def subscribing. I'm just starting out as a hobby as my kids get ready to fly the coup off to college. Your tips are very helpful. Thank you!🎉
Love this! I want to purchase your pricing calculator it’s the most efficient and easiest one I’ve seen so far! I would love to see a video all about the calculator (such as inputting the data and getting it all set up) you can of course use fake recipes so you don’t have to expose your delicious dream cake ones! Haha thanks for the great content! Edit: just purchased it! Can’t wait!! 😊
I’m a vegan treats baker and I’m having a hard time pricing. Of course the quality of ingredients that I must use for it to be dairy free and egg are pretty expensive. I’m trying to find a way for it to all make sense. Great video !
I am back to work with my home bakery, I was sick. I live in Jamaica and the price for some of these items 😢 jist say mind-blowing. I don't pay myself 😔 this makes me appreciate people and their prices much more. God bless you for sharing this with us .
Just adjust the cake calculation price based on the products you have to buy and pay yourself too. Think about it like a exclusive car dealership, not everyone will be able to afford a BMW. Those who can afford it and value your time and product will buy it. Those who want discount and low ball you and want cheaper options can go elsewhere. Simple. All the best!
Such a great video, so informative and helpful. Unfortunately in my area people’s heads would spin 😅 but it’s definitely worth that. It’s just hard to convince people how much work it is, since they’re used to big store pieces 😢
For me it’s hard to say because I don’t think I’d ever even BUY 6 cakes; I’d just try to get a big one or a tier cake. 😅 I think the price is pretty reasonable, they looked like they had lots of flavor and filling, but I personally don’t think I’d want the flowers, especially after seeing they added a lot to the cost. I don’t think these are cakes that fit my style preferences either, so it’s hard to say, but it seems pretty fair of a price. So smart to just have a sheet where you can plug information in.
Mama❤❤ so sweet, thanks for distracting me little one, i was lost when you say "tell me what you think about the cost" gurllllll i don't know what to say, all I know you did a pretty good job with this video.
I don't charge for "bake time" because I'm technically idle - I do charge for the use of stove/G&E, though. As for your price, it's hard to say because that total means that it's about $65 per cake, which seems expensive because of the small ones. I'd like to see it broken down
Hi! I include ‘bake time’ because that’s the time I’m working on other parts of the cake. Making buttercream, fillings, decorations, cleaning, etc. So that time isn’t idle for me. It used to be, but I found I can be much more efficient doing it this way. When it’s broken down as such It can seem a bit expensive. The flowers alone take up majority of those costs. Would you see it differently if you looked at it as 2 sheet cakes and a 6” cake? That’s essentially what all the cakes equal out to.
I'll go ahead and ask my questions here since others are :) Is the price calculator fully editable? I remember you saying in the video that profit is already built in...what percentage did you build into it and can we edit that? I also need to know the difference between Admin and Prep. Is this answered in the Price Calculator package? I saw that there is a video and maybe it's explained there, but I'm not sure. And are we able to download both the Google Sheets version and the Excel version to see which we like better or do we have to choose one? Is there an ingredients tab for putting the price of individual ingredients (I would assume you do this first)0 and then a recipe tab where it pulls in the ingredients we built in? What all do you include in overhead and is that built in or editable? So many questions. I think I'm going to buy it (THANK YOU for the 40% off!!) and see what I can do with it.
Yes ask away! It helps others who may have the same questions. Yes it is fully editable and comes blank so you can add your own information. I meant built in as I’ve antsy set my profit, taxes and fees so I don’t have to worry about doing anything for those as it’ll automatically be factored in. Yes, there are instructions on how to set your own numbers. I consider admin taking the order and making a plan. Prep includes the time to prepare ingredients and supplies needed. Yes, you will have links to both the excel file and Google sheets so you can choose which one you prefer to work with. Yes, there are separate tabs for you to add your ingredients, recipes, labor pay, overhead etc. All pages are already linked so once you add it, it will be fully functioning! The overhead tab is editable as well! There will be an example in the template, but you just delete it and add your own. You are so welcome and thank you for asking your questions! If you run into any more questions always feel free to ask. ❤️
Ok, I have a question on the pricing calculator. I bought it and have done all my ingredients and recipes. When you do a cake quote, how do you do another one? Do I have to delete all the info and start over? Is there a way in Google Sheets to clear it all at once (I don't use GS much, so not familiar). In other words, do the quotes not save like the recipes, but the page is used over and over again? Thanks...I love it so far!
Great videos! Does the pricing calculator give us the tab to add our own costs based on our recipes? and how do you manage a bulk box of cake mix without measurements for. Do just do trial runs to fill my cake pans (mini like you have) and 6 inch pans.
Hi! Thank you!! Yes, it has all the tabs to add your own information. You can weigh how much you use per recipe and then divide by the amount in the bag!
@@monifahdorsey2786 hi! The unit is what you measure by: cups, oz, grams, etc. The unit amount (I’m assuming you’re on the ingredients tab) is how many cups, oz, grand etc. per item you bought. So for instance a package of Oreos. There’s 48 in one pack so the units can be labeled as cookie it each. So the unit amount for the one package of Oreos is 48 because there’s 48 cookies!
