Some of these people act like Caitlin Clark is the only white girl in the league. If her popularity was always just about her skin color. Then what the hell happened to Briana Stewart, Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi popularity?? Why didn't they affect the WNBA the way Caitlin is? Her popularity being about her skin color is total nonsense.
@V8Supercar1 unfortunately, it seems they are also attacking her not only for her skin color but also for her sexual orientation. it is equally the reason why they loathe her - that and besides their fragile ego's
@@Bryant-b6othere's a huge correlation between CC and Tiger. Tiger became the most popular golfer in the world and caused a massive spike in ratings largely because he was bringing in a new audience that hadn't been paying attention to the PGA before. Black people were tuning in to watch like never before. CC in the same way is bringing in a new audience. Of course, the first thing is that they both were fantastic at their sport. But moving the needle like they did almost only happens when you're bringing in new demographics.
Exactly. I know tha she is a diplomatic person and feels that she needs to tow the line hoping to appease others but it doesn't work and it just keeps the racial divide growing, as well as ignoring the racism from the black players. By the way, she is liked so much because of her attitude and as we have seen this season, the others are disliked so much because of their attitude and play style. But because race is the excuse for everything, we can't talk about that. The more likeable people became more famous this year, the less likeable less so, regardless of race.
I'm black, and I like Caitlin Clark, more than the other W players. I only care about how electrifying a player is, REGARDLESS of their gender or skin tone.
Imagine being a white man from Iowa and labelled racist for the last two years because I supported her and said she was better than others. I guess its ok her fans are called racist, but she isn't. White privilege? in basketball??? While we get the label she denounces us by joining into the whole race thing. Look at the history of women's basketball. Why is she the first white girl from Iowa to make a difference? Every women's league before the WNBA always had a white midwestern presence. Jackie Stiles still scored more than anyone before, just like Plum, and recently Clark. all three white. all three successful because of their talent and work, not some invisible privilege.
@@MrSoulauctioneer as someone who is an actual Iowa fan and watched Caitlin’s entire career in college and some of her high school year as well as the Megan Gustafson years, knock the shit off dude. White privilege is a legitimate thing. I see it in healthcare plenty. I say this as a white dude who also had a black roommate and watched this crap first hand. Caitlin didn’t “denounce” her fans. She denounced the racist shits that have been using her name to push an agenda, which does exist more than you know. Ironically, most of those don’t know shit about basketball.
@@MrSoulauctioneerso you never bought into the media drummed up racial controversy pitting Clark against specific players who happened to be black? It not then hats off to you, because a lot of people fell into the trap
BB is my least favorite sport. Always has been. I was able to watch Walt, Wilt, West, Bird, Jordan, Jokic. I only watch a few games per year. I hate tennis, but watched some with the Williams sisters. Not even close. They dominated. I watched CC in the Championship and followed her to the W. I watched all of the Fever games and ten more non Fever games. Not even close. She’s a phenom. The league suck because of the mediocre play and even worse the horrible attitudes. A bunch of sour pusses.
Exactly! CC has a huge fanbase comprising of many different races/nationalities that love her for her game & story! And it’s sickening how they’ve tried to smear CC & her fanbase as (xyz) in order to punish/bully her! 🤮
As a black man. Caitlin, you were bated by the Time magazine interviewer. I am a fan of yours and will continue to be your fan. One 5hing I believe you need to understand is that you are NOT the result of white priviledge. The black women may have paved the way for you and other players of today. If the black players performed and were as talented as you, they would have received the recognition that you have receive$. Years ago, I tried to watch WNBA but, there was very limited talent in the league. If these women were that great, why is the league still financed by the NBA. White priviledge in the wnba is BS. There have been other white pl@yers in the wnba but, 5hey do not have the talent that you do. Do not sell yourself short and do not allow anyone black or white tell you that you are receiving privilege because you are white. Young lady you deserve everything you receive because you are talented far above other players in the wnba black or white. You have no privilege you have talent and I will continue to be your fan.
I had admired that she had stood away from political correctness and wokeness until now! She disappointed me big time with “as a white person, there is privilege!” Focus on the talent to play the game, not on skin color.
@@FanDaElisyeah, but white people in America - have - privilege. It's just a fact. If you're white and you don't accept that, you haven't been paying attention.
I think CC was suckered into the race comment and as a 22yo she didn’t avoid it. Personally I appreciate the skill level not the skin colour and am disappointed how this is being blown up by those that hate CC with a vengeance.
It will all blow over. Clark isn’t known for her activism, she’s know for her basketball abilities and that’s what people will remember her for. She has so many more epic moments to create and I’m excited to watch them all unfold over the years. The haters will move on to a new target and CC will just keep playing and breaking records and trying to get championships for her team.
She doubled down on the intentional targeting of her and the INTENTIONAL eye poke by dijonhey, and she was not suckered into those comments. Not to mention throwing the reporter under the bus...where half of her fans are now. The racists need to call out the racism in their own house FIRST!!!!!. The league is a sick and morally corrupt entity.
You need to highlight Clark being named to Forbes Magazine's Top 100 MOST POWERFUL WOMEN IN THE WORLD today. This is by far the most prestigious award she has won in that LONG pantheon of awards she has garnered. No one in the WNBA would have ever dreamt of being even CONSIDERED for this award. Clark is cut from a different (probably unique) cloth!
Not down on Caitlin, but I think she doesn't necessarily see the bad side of Angel Reese, Dijonae Carrington or some of the others horrible sportsmanship displayed against her, but I applaud her taking the high road as much as possible and look forward to supporting her as she grows as a person and a player
It doesn’t really help anything if she does see the bad side. It just makes her another bitter WNBA player. I almost think she is saying this stuff ironically. We all know what’s happening, it’s clear on video from multiple angles. So maybe her downplaying it to the extreme is her way of not giving them the attention they are craving from whatever they did.
@@mattmason7554 yes- still clueless. If you’re on the internet telling someone you don’t know, that they really don’t know someone they’ve known for years, you have a problem.😂
There's lots of pictures of Reese posing for the camera pointing at her ring finger and stuff like that -- you know, the incident that made her famous beyond her wildest dreams -- why wouldn't she keep that alive?
A'ja Wilson has had a lot to say about "white privilege". Why has no one ever challenged her about her "pretty privilege" or colorism in the Black community. Chelsea Gray hauled the Aces to the championship on her back in 2022 and A'ja and the Aces didn't really look great without her in 2024. Why hasn't Chelsea Gray (probably the best player in the Aces) gotten her endorsement deals? And why hasn't A'ja Wilson called anyone out about that?
There’s just one problem. There is no white privilege in basketball. If there was, players like Stewie, Sabrina, Sue Bird etc would be almost as big or bigger than Caitlin by now. But they aren’t. Some players are more captivating than others regardless of race. A’ja has a big problem - she isn’t very exciting to watch. She could be but she’s way too serious and comes off as unlikeable. Caitlin is always interacting with the crowd and doing crazy things no one is expecting. If that is privilege of some sort, ok. I’m getting so tired of Wilson always complaining. What a terrible example of a league MVP. I don’t care if she scores a lot. She gives the WNBA a bad name.
@Zerox_Prime yet where is your outrage over Wilson growing up privileged or Paige, white growing up privileged. Since she came out as gay, they all protect her 🙄
If I was Caitlin clark I would have said anything. This woman worked hard to get where she is at just because she's white she doesn't owe any if those women anything outside of respect. Those women attacked her from day one without her saying one word all year. Caitlin didn't start the race narrative and that why it isn't her issue or problem to solve. She is a star because she earned it not because she's white because those girls she beat where black not white girls. The media like ESPN pushed the hate all year including not wanting her on the Olympic Team or being Rookie of the year. Nope Caitlin went through hell her first year no fault of her own and she owes none of those women anything especially how she was treated.
I think CC is smart enough to know she owes them nothing. But it seems it’s her way of respecting her workmates. She didn’t throw them under the bus during the season, why donut it in the offseason!
Because she’s WAY WAY WAY bigger than they ever expected. Remember these players are all super competitive and many were the best player on their team all growing up. They think they deserve more praise and maybe that’s true but it has to come naturally, not by crying about it.
I mentioned that before how much I appreciate your objectivity Rachel. We are living in a subjective "me first" world where everyone has an opinion. And whatever we say someone will not like it. And not saying anything will never change the narrative. So there is no win win situation. I have to admire that young woman Caitlin Clark for be so honest, courageous and smart to say what she had to say.
She was not courageous with this statement: “but as a white person, there is privilege!” That is wokeism, that is succumbing to pressure! Not courage at all!
Self destruction is something I didn't expect. She is suffering from Stockholm Syndrome by trying to placate her woke captors by identifying with the bullies hoping she will be treated more better. The bullies will double down unfortunately. I'm sorry she rejects her own race. She has lost millions of fans who are tired of woke politics.
I guess I will add my two cents here. In this conversation white privilege does not enter into her success at all! It is not Clarks responsibility to uplift black players anymore than it is her responsibility to uplift any player other than Caitlin E. Clark! It is up to the individual player to be extraordinary and uplift him/herself! Magic Johnson, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Michael Jordan, Mohammad Ali, Jim Brown, even LaBron James to name a few, all achieved super stardom and they ALL did that with a large white fan base as well as the black fans. That is what makes them transitional stars! Go pull up an old RUclips video of Magic Johnson and the Lakers playing any other team and take note of the number of white people in the stands! CC is exceptional because of her skill set, personality, professionalism and character. She is exceptional! A'Ja Wilson? Not so much! Angel Reese? Not so much! I know that black men can be transitional, they see Clark for what she is. It seems to be the snarky, insecure, jealous black women that need to grow up! These are the same type of people that would rather watch "Real Housewives", "The Kardashians", daytime soap operas, and, THE BACHELOR! All shows that tear others down instead of lifting up, but that is what these women want to watch! It's like they are all perpetually pissed off about something!
I disagree Caitlin’s hype skyrocketed when angel reeese taunted her. It formed a never seen before black white rivalry between the two. It’s unfortunate
I had never paid attention to women's basketball until Caitlin Clark. Her succumbing to political correctness was a huge disappointment. At this point I am thinking of not following the women's baskteball sport at all. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. "But as for I am white, there is privilege!" What a bunch of malarkey.
@@Doomguy9OOO No, people watched her highlights and some of her college games. But Paige bueckers had more hype then. That game showed how race is still a big factor in America since Reese received n-word taunts online and Clark had allot of hate from some blacks.
What it is, is bullshit. Every conscious person in the sports world knows that every black athlete's fans are overwhelming Caucasian. This applies to attendance and merchandise sales. Every one of CC's fans, regardless of their race, loved her because she chose to stay above the bs and refused to be another enabler to the victimhood mentality of the woke mob, at least until now. There are black athletes in other leagues and other sports and even in the wunbah who never whine because they aren't yet and may never be the superstar they thought they would be. A'ja had at least as much "privilege" growing up as CC and maybe more. Everyone should earn their place in history. Alienating the majoritively least melaninated fans just to score brownie points will cost her fans of every race, color and creed. I, for one, am sorely disappointed. I suppose she has enough money now that she doesn't need us anymore!
Caitlin Clark does not focus on the negative aspects of other WNBA players' poor sportsmanship towards her. However, I applaud her for the high road and support her as she grows even more as a player in the years to come.
I know her PR team told her to say this thinking it would get her some points or something, but no. People need to leave the toxic politics to the Twitter-stans.
Caitlin doesn't have a "PR" team! One of the things we all love and admire about her is her authenticity. It is really disrespectful to her to suggest that she is following some pre scripted narrative.
@@petep5207lol you actually believe that? Dude she’s make 11m a year just on endorsements.. that’s not going anywhere .. plus 100k for a half hour talk
She was literally pushed around and abused ,, talked down to … a lotttttt of the woman in the league trash talked her and then went about playing down right abusive against her in games … I realize it’s pro ball , but there are standards in the game , And many of these woman don’t play by them …..
The problem with being the athlete of the year. Sort of puts a target on your back as a minority in a mostly black league. Very disrespectful and shows where their heart really is.
I will leave her alone from now on. She is basically a Hollywood liberal. Pure woke. I thought Caitlin was smart enough to see beyond skin color. She clearly isn't.
04:26 "The no see me" its noteworthy because how absolutely stupid it is: 1) Clark never made the gesture to a rival player, according to players in the opposite team. 2)When the gesture was made to Clark in the finals it was the biggest unsportsmanlike conduct ever seen of a final game. It was shameful & a sorry spectacle to watch. 3)The press manufactured this. It has being pointed out to them for years by Clark & others that its all a lie. Yet the press & the other girl keep pushing this BS.
Caitlin's only privileges come from being a great and electrifying player, being well spoken, being positive and from going out of her way to make time for fans.
Yes! Excellent breakdown without shouting and throwing CC under the bus. Wilson needs to sit down along with Alyssa Thomas and others ie Paige grew up in affluent Edina, MN yet came out gay so they’ll protect her.
First, many, many thanks for your commitment to helping animals and pray for its success! Another terrific analysis! My thoughts are pretty basic - she’s a 22 yr old with midwestern values carrying the full weight of a professional league on her shoulders! She will figure out. A little grace is more than warranted.
She got a little grace when she liked the Taylor Swift endorsed post. It's really not that hard to stay out of politics, especially when you know the vast majority of your fan base is conservative. I still don't know who MJ votes for and I don't care, because he never talks about it.
Another great analysis. You are clearly the most articulate, knowledgeable, smart, and attractive podcaster on RUclips. I am a big fan. And, kudos to you for your contributions to helping animals. Your inner beauty shines through.
Rachel, great commentary!!! I love #22 for her basketball play, BB IQ and “in it to win” it mentality… I stopped to reflex Do I watch CC because she is white? No!!! Do I watch Simone Biles because she is black? No!!!! They are electrifying at the sport they participate in.
I don't think we'll ever be able to take race out of the conversation. Caitlyn's comment is a reasonable response. A'ja's comment , however, just drives the point home. For her, it's all about race. In America, the blacks represent about 14% and whites, about 60% of the population. A white star athlete, just by simple math, has about 4 times the size of audience to draw a fan base from. I don't think a lot of people understand the concept of a generarational athlete, which Caitlyn is. Thanks, Rachel.
I just miss a bit in the end that the fanbase for a generational talent is 100% of the population, because everyone loves the sport, the way she plays and behaves.
The league is ridiculous. If Caitlin said “I don’t really like black people” she would be kicked out of the league immediately. But if A’ja or another veteran player said they don’t like white people and they ruin basketball, she would be praised by the media. It’s a double standard and the way they mistreat the minority races like white and Hispanic is just disgusting in my opinion. It nullifies any other complaints they have. They keep trying to conflate the outside world with basketball and you just can’t do that because they are opposites in a way.
@rometallud You're right, she didn't bring up race. I think her basically apologizing to the black women was not a good move and is definitely going to hurt her career. I for one am done with her, she's another embarrassment to white people who think that they have NOTHING to apologize for. Go to Europe!
@@johnh1932 One cannot say they work hard for everything they achieved and also claim they benefited from White Privilege. ...Will still watch, but disappointed she bended the knee to the white privilege narrative.
She’s shifting the rivalry blame to strictly the media and covering for Angel’s part. Once again she’s taking the high road when it comes to other players (past and present).
CC had a ridiculously fun and amazing NCAA career and people love that logo 3. Thats why she has the monster fanbase. It's a ridiculous jealous narrative against CC to claim she's as popular as she is because she's white, that narrative is by jealous black women who want to believe its something other than the reality. If it was because she was white, we'd have been talking about The Sabrina IonescuI effect years earlier, but we haven't, because the great white hope narrative doesn't exist here at all. It's a shame that Caitlin took the stance she did on this subject, because those who hate her aren't going to change, but she just helped add to their narrative that her fans are racist.
Hi Rachel, I understand you want the race subject off the table. I agree with you, but remember these examples: Michael Jordan put the NBA out there, and nobody cared about his skin color, Tiger Woods literally put the PGA on the map and nobody cared about his skin color ( in the stuffy golf world too!). Skin color has NOTHING to do with why we want to watch her play. TALENT AND CHARISMA IS NOT GIVEN TO EVERYONE. Yes, life is unfair.
Thank you, Rachel for elaborating CC's comments. I am a 70-yr old male from India, started watching WNBA because of CC's exceptional talent. Following this interview, I have decided to stop patronizing CC because of her "White Privilege comment). Am I wrong?
She rode the contrvesry until it got her where she wanted to go then she turned on the people that supported her. Hope she enjoys this award because i doubt she'll recieve another; her viewer base just plummeted.
Thanks for your balanced, reasonable take on this topic, Rachel. CC is caught between some people that resent her for what they see her as representing, and some people who want her to represent something that she doesn't want any part of. We know where she stands now, and decent people (fans, players, media, etc.) of all stripes should cut her some slack, appreciate what she has done for her sport, and embrace the competitive but fair and respectful playing of the game of basketball. All this negative focus on race and racial divide is toxic. At its best, sport can span and dissolve those divides. Let's hope we see more of that next season.
I'm a lesbian and I don't care if Caitlin is straight! She's an ally and more important a GREAT BBall Player who is super fun to watch. If she wasn't, no one would tune in or spend any money at all.
So CC got caught up with T Swift. That may explain her thoughts in the Time article. Swift is toxic. It's a shame, since CC is so much younger and probably looks at Taylor with young googly eyes. Hope CC can extend some 'grace' onto Swift and not the other way around. What she said in this article, lost some respect for CC. Feels like she sold out to some sort of DEI toxicity. I feel bad for her parents. Life goes on without women's basketball.
When you answer a question, it shouldn't be your goal to make everyone happy, it should be to tell the truth. The reason they like Caitlin Clark is because she's a great player and a good teammate. She sticks around to sign autographs, and she's a great role model. Someone that is black with parents that are 6'10 and 6'4 are privileged, someone with parents that are accomplished sprinters are privileged and so on. A white middle-class girl that works hard and treats people with respect is not privileged. She's just Caitlin Clark.
As much as I'm an S.E.C. Stan I have to admit the Caitlyn is one of a kind. Her work ethic, her raw talent, and her "Genuine" demeanor are attributes that can't be coached or taught. She's taken criticisms and accolades in stride and with a smile. Although I would have voted for Sydney McLaughln Levrone I have no problem with Ms. Clark receiving one of many awards that will surely come her way in other endeavors other than Basketball.
I support CC period. There is so much I want to say about this conversation. From race, class, gender, solidarity, equal pay and profile in sports of women is a far more naunced discussion than what we get from the toxic corporate media platforms, dummy talking heads like SAS, and toxic identity politics that is totally black and white no pun intended approach to understanding American history and politics. Thank you again for your work. I stand with CC.
Nothing, the correct answer is nothing is what she should've said, or if she wanted to say something it should've been base players success on their performance on the court and their character, not their skin color. The mentioning of white privilege is where she went off the rails. That racially divisive crap needs to end.
Working your butt off to become the best player you can be has nothing to do with color, but it’s all about passion. As for endorsements, if you’re a good to great player you can get them, but a lot has also to do with your personality and demeanor. It really does help to be nice, funny, humble etc. People like that
I am so disappointed with Caitlyn as I thought her a great role model for my athletic high school girls who are also white. So now are they supposed to think they are guilty of white privilege? Sorry we are done supporting her as we feel betrayed!
I’m sorry but she threw everyone us under the bus, all that defending we did only for her to turn around and agree with them. They lumped her fans in one group a racist group now me as a black man and a fan of hers was called different names than my counterparts because of my skin color and backing of her. So many like me stood for her because wether she sees it or not but they bullied her and she folded on us and I know you’re excited to hear about a Swifty but some of us who faced ridicule from our own people could give a damn about a Swifty, they both represent what we’ve been standing up to and fighting against. She made us look stupid even y’all with these dedication channels so don’t think it don’t.
The best thing I can do is go out and get TIME magazine, read the article, and make my own decision. I will not base anything on what people say in the podcast remarks. EDIT: The one thing that is getting me is that people are pissed off at CC22 for whatever she said. So, from that standpoint, what I see is that if a person disagrees with your point of view, they are woke, trash, unworthy, or whatever you wish to call it. Based on that, are you any better? I highly doubt that after I read the article, my decision to watch a generational basketball player will change. After reading the article, I am sure I will return here [and other podcasters' sites] and put my two cents in.
C# didn't bend the knee... she has been saying this in other words the whole time.. she respect all the basketball players or athletes for that matter for what they have done and how they have done it, regardless of color Period. She has been a fan of the game and the players since she was little, still regardless of color, so she keeps it to basketball.... alot of people don't realize that's what she have said all along.. but saying she's bending the knee is just wrong, she's just respecting everyone, but have to point out that it is a black dominated sport. And for the really loud little amount of fans that screams she's bending the knee... that's politics that we try to keep out of it.. and if they are surprised, they are just too gullible and not very bright.. C# is a global superstar... way above politics.
after bending the kneee to the wookies she wouild admit later on that she is a lesbian too...she is a chatter box...she should just follow her dad's advice...SHUT UP and play the game caitlin
Had to disagree, she bend the knee. She went from: "here to ball" to this. All the mental gymnastics in the world cant change this. If i jave the low IQ, then please point me out to any other interview were she says this exactly. Not interpretations or grassping at straws.
The game of basketball does not discriminate whether your blue yellow black or white. It's how good you are and how you played it.Caitlin brought a new style of play.Thats how good she was
She literally lost a lot of people ... Tht apologizing capitulation about her race. Almost sounded ashamed... Lost all respect right there Disturbing.. really disturbing
To state the obvious, I think people would understand Caitlin better if they had grown up in Iowa like I have. Apparently, we Iowans have a reputation for being hard working, humble, and indiscriminately kind to strangers of all stripes. I get it, this is a characterization or stereotype, but it’s based on countless testimonials from people not from Iowa that we will help anyone we see stranded on the side of the road, we will hold the door open for the person behind us and when someone does this for me I always acknowledge and thank them. If we accidentally bump into someone in public we will say, “Ope, I’m so sorry - my bad!” And about Caitlin’s fanatical fan base: Iowans don’t have a major professional sports team, so many of us are fanatics (not me, just a regular fan of basketball in general who happened to graduate from U of Iowa) about our Alumni affiliations, such as Iowa vs Iowa State. Iowa’s total population is just over 3mil. Caitlin’s fan base is obviously not just Iowans. Also, the fact that she has fans across the globe means her popularity is based on her skill set and her personable public persona. I hate this race card crap. I love basketball. I haven’t felt this way about a basketball player since MJ23 🐐
Just a couple things here, never really was a rivalry between Angel Reese and Caitlyn. They don't play the same position, never will don't play against each other directly. That was all made up. But then the other thing is not to pull out race. No comparison should ever be based on a person's skin color. I did not start following Clark because she's white. There was a hype going on about Clark in college and I started watching and thought "Wow, this girl is really good. She is something else". I did not base that on her skin color, she is really good. Anyone who thinks that she has a strong following is because she's white is wrong. Nobody should be judged by the color of their skin, period. Not even white ppl.
Wouldn’t she be privileged if she got to go to a powerhouse that would practically guarantee a championship? I don’t know coaches that say let’s get the white girl for our basketball team. Apologizing for your race is super cringe. I won’t stop being a fan but there are people saying they will no longer watch her. Ironic that she makes a statement to encourage the other players but it could in fact decrease people’s interest in the entire league.
Regarding Reese, she is the one keeping up the "animosity" with her ridiculous statements and attitude. The stat padding, jumping up and cheering when Cheneddy Carter knocked CC down, Her embracing the "villain role" (her words not mine), the whining that people aren't just watching for one player-they are watching for her too speaks to why many find her unlikable. The issue of race is ridiculous. She is popular because she is a once in a generation player. The marketing landscape was different back then. It isn't CC's job to elevate anyone, particularly by race. They aren't going to stop beating on her each and every game because they hate CC for her success. I was in the Army for over 21 years and all we cared about is if the Soldier was good at their job and they had your back. It didn't matter race, gender, sexuality, etc. It should be the same in sports and in life.
she just needs to shut her mouth in political matters and refrain from saying anything subjective about others skin color or race or controversial matters. stick to the game!
@@ScottTaylor-h3h No one asked her to, that's YOUR narrative. Fans were perfectly happy not knowing where she stood on things for the very reason this mess exists.

My daughter's 1st 2yrs at Iowa were CC's last 2. Huge fan, transitioned to the WNBA with her, and now she just lost me. Sorry CC.....I cannot support this bs. Peace out ✌️✌️✌️
I’m a new CC black fan and know nothing about the life views and opinions of Iowa. Help me understand, is this a case of her forgetting where she came from because she represents more than basketball?
@ScottTaylor-h3h Unfortunately, I think it's her pr team. She's an awesome, down to earth, person. Always stayed late to sign autographs and greet fans. Idk why she's buying into the woke mind virus. (As Elon calls it)
Rachel thank you so much for your well grounded and thought out perspective on Caitlyn.s interview. I am not one that types much but I will say this CC is only the second basketball player that I have actually ever been excited to watch every game I can watch, them play. the other player is Larry Bird. they both play the game with passion love and a flair second to none. the interview does not change my mind one bit i long for the day this 70 year old man can watch CC play in person. i am not a negative person as you are not Rachel you have become my favorite podcast for that very reason keep up the good work young lady.
Unfortunately no matter what C# says someone's gonna be upset or happy. That's just a fact you learn in life. Quote - "you can please some people some of the time but ya can't please all the people all the time."
I fear her statement about "white privilege" will cost her around 40% of her fanbase. I am disappointed because I think her skin has nothing to do with her success. Anyways, I followed her because of her game so she hasn't lost me as a fan but I know a lot of people will.
Since when does one person need to take care of all of everyone's feelings, biases, and views towards other people in this world. She is not the ambassador for every single person out there and their feelings. She loves the game of basketball and just wants to be a baller. Everyone just needs to leave her alone. Deal with your own 💩
Clark needs to move on from her mother as manager and the "clueless' agent getting manhandled by Nike. She should also now refer back to this article anytime the question comes up as her last comment on the subject. "Next question!"
The biggest thing that hurts Caitlin is all the clickbait channels throwing her name around. All just so they can get views and make money off her name.
Thanks again for your levelheaded analysis and commentary. I read the whole interview in Time and you do a great job of distilling it. By the way, what is that cute goodbye thing you always end your posts with?
Clark can’t win or lose so for everyone saying “I’m done with her, she’s trash, she’s woke, etc” yet come May, they’ll ALL be watching 😂 She can’t like a post without being called out. Dang..she’s a Swiftie & a HUGE Chiefs fan!

They never mention that Tiger, Simone, MJ, Serena and countless others got super famous for reasons not related to being white.
@V8Supercar1 unfortunately, it seems they are also attacking her not only for her skin color but also for her sexual orientation. it is equally the reason why they loathe her - that and besides their fragile ego's
Agree!

Very well said.

One of the most concise and thoughtful comments I’ve read since the woke bating interview. Glad to know there are free thinking adults out there.
Clark has been at the center of many manufactured controversies. Including that manufactured RotY garbage. The W did her dirty and still does.
I think CC was suckered into the race comment and as a 22yo she didn’t avoid it. Personally I appreciate the skill level not the skin colour and am disappointed how this is being blown up by those that hate CC with a vengeance.
My general rule is: "If a female is old enough to suck d*ck, then she is old enough to take accountability for her words and actions."
Clark is cut from a different (probably unique) cloth!
you cant be considered powerful if you bend your knees to the wookies..i think she is a lesbian too now that she showed how woke she is

Not so as far as her woke weak comment: “as a white person, there is privilege!” That is promoting critical race theory (CRT). That is BS!
She showed weakness when she buckled and promoted Critical Race Theory. CRT.

It doesn’t really help anything if she does see the bad side. It just makes her another bitter WNBA player. I almost think she is saying this stuff ironically. She’s right-she has no rivalry with Reese. Reese thinks she’s Caitlin’s rival.
Oh when did Reese say this? It's just the media going with this
Yup, Reese never used the word Rival and that should end it 🤔🤣
@@NoName-zm1ks good luck with that with 5 primetime games next season 😪
How do you know what Reese thinks?
AJa is not pretty, she look like the school bus backup into her face and she's a Black Privillage RACIST.
A’ha grew up in privileged and so did Paige so Paige will be protected coming out gay. WHO CARES 🙄
Caitlin confessed to having white privilege. I was ... shocked !!! 😮
Black is black white is white why we can't just love each other by the way what you think about Jesus
I think CC is smart enough to know she owes them nothing. But it seems it’s her way of respecting her workmates. She didn’t throw them under the bus during the season, why donut it in the offseason!
I don't get why so many of her peers are so jealous. Clark goes about her life while living rent free on so many peoples minds.
Because she’s WAY WAY WAY bigger than they ever expected. Remember these players are all super competitive and many were the best player on their team all growing up. They think they deserve more praise and maybe that’s true but it has to come naturally, not by crying about it.
I think that jelousy goes stronger in woman than in man.

Some of the other players need an attitude adjustment AND some public relations education.

Well Caitlyn just validated Aja with these comments. Hopefully Aja & others will keep nailing down the race point because it works.
I just miss a bit in the end that the fanbase for a generational talent is 100% of the population, because everyone loves the sport, the way she plays and behaves.
Thank you.
Caitlin is WOKE now.. i don't wanna support her no more. I will cancel my wnba pass goodbye WNBA.

I'm sorry this isn't "white privilege."CC has been 1 of the most popular athlete this year.

“It” is exhausting and a big turn off.
Praising others isn't at all equivalent to stating she has white privilege. The latter is an ideological statement.
Had to disagree, she bend the knee. She went from: "here to ball" to this.
All the mental gymnastics in the world cant change this.
If i jave the low IQ, then please point me out to any other interview were she says this exactly. Not interpretations or grassping at straws.
ok ok..she didnt bend the knee, she just kisssed the black wookiee assess...
CC22 hard work and talent is not white privileged ‼️ Sad she doesn’t see it for what it is !!!
The game of basketball does not discriminate whether your blue yellow black or white. It's how good you are and how you played it.Caitlin brought a new style of play.Thats how good she was
She literally lost a lot of people ... Tht apologizing capitulation about her race. Almost sounded ashamed... Lost all respect right there
Disturbing.. really disturbing
I KNEW she would be in that box with Taylor and Brittany Mahomes. Called it forever ago!
OMG how about we just remember to not criticize someone until you walk a mile in their shoes?
It should be the same in sports and in life.
she just needs to shut her mouth in political matters and refrain from saying anything subjective about others skin color or race or controversial matters. stick to the game!
too late
why should her fans that have been called racist for supporting her all her life follow her now?
Depends. Follow her because of basketball. She never said she would represent her fans views and opinions.
@@ScottTaylor-h3h No one asked her to, that's YOUR narrative. Fans were perfectly happy not knowing where she stood on things for the very reason this mess exists.
I was amazed by her long 3 pointers and passing--not her skin color
❤ Love your cause ❤, as for Caitlin... If we pass judgement on her now, we weren't watching the actions before this set of statements. I am totally cool with her just as she is ❤😊
My daughter's 1st 2yrs at Iowa were CC's last 2. Huge fan, transitioned to the WNBA with her, and now she just lost me. Sorry CC.....I cannot support this bs. Peace out ✌️✌️✌️
My daughter and many others are so disappointed.
(As Elon calls it)
Nope. Done with her.
Caitlin Clarke allowed TIME to turn her into some woke monster, just when I thought we would see the end of it. Millions are so disappointed
You conveyed your points very eloquently. Kudos!
Since when does one person need to take care of all of everyone's feelings, biases, and views towards other people in this world. She is not the ambassador for every single person out there and their feelings. She loves the game of basketball and just wants to be a baller. Everyone just needs to leave her alone. Deal with your own 💩
Amen!
Maybe Caitlin bought some time and can keep her eyes from being gouged out.
Once again Caitlin takes the high road when talking about "Me too"
Clark needs to move on from her mother as manager and the "clueless' agent getting manhandled by Nike. She should also now refer back to this article anytime the question comes up as her last comment on the subject. "Next question!"
Glad I finally found your channel. I keep seeing clips of you on others channels. Love the content.
Awe thank you so much!! And welcome 🤗!
The biggest thing that hurts Caitlin is all the clickbait channels throwing her name around. All just so they can get views and make money off her name.
Many if not most of those channels are fans. Those AI generated "She's going to Europe' things are just junk.
Thanks again for your levelheaded analysis and commentary. I read the whole interview in Time and you do a great job of distilling it. By the way, what is that cute goodbye thing you always end your posts with?
Thank you 🙏🏼! And I say “uwian na” at the end of my videos, which is a Tagalog phrase meaning “time to go home!”
@
I like it!
Clark can’t win or lose so for everyone saying “I’m done with her, she’s trash, she’s woke, etc” yet come May, they’ll ALL be watching 😂 She can’t like a post without being called out. Dang..she’s a Swiftie & a HUGE Chiefs fan!
Good points. That poor 22 year old somehow is supposed to represent the views and opinions of SOME of her fans where politics and racism matters. OMG!
She said “white privilege” about herself therefore I’m done with her
GREAT VIDEO WITH MEANINGFUL COMMENTS ON THE WNBA...
