Love seeing your trees! I'm in Maryland, zone 7a, and just planted Penelope (aka my first persimmon tree) and she took about 6 weeks to grow from being a stick with a root to finally having growth! She's in partial sun, so I'm not sure if she will produce just a few or a lot several years from now. Love hearing how proud you are of your trees!

Have you ever thought about growing American Persimmons?

EACH YEAR WILL GET BETTER. MY FIRST YEAR I HAD ABOUT 10 AND THEY ALL FELL OFF ABOUT MARBLE SIZE. SECOND YEAR , ABOUT 25 AND ONLY 10 MADE IT TO FULL SIZE. THIS YEAR HAD ABOUT 70 AND I THINK ABOUT 35-40 WILL SURVIVE, SO YEAH EACH YEAR SHOULD GET BETTER.

I have 2 Fuyu and 2 Hachiya. I like eating the Fuyu because it doesn't have to be fully ripe to eat. I have to wait for the Hachiya to be fully ripped. Have you grow the Shanxi Li or Sherwood Jujube?

Persimmons like full sun. At a minimum, 6 hours a day of full sun, but the more the better.

Hello, my grandmother passed away and left a house to the family and nobody wanted it so I relocated and took over the mortgage. There are 2 persimmon trees but they are not that big. Right now both have grown a lot and are loaded with persimmons that it's so heavy with fruits so some of the branches are on the grass. What can I put around the tree to hold up the branches until the persimmons ripen? I really enjoy your video, keep up the good work!!

My mother was using anything & everything boards, and trash barrels to hold up her persimmon fruit loaded branches.
But after watching the back to eden video, told her to stop supporting her branches and let nature pull them down, and it reshapes the tree naturally.
She tried it out on her plum tree so far and wow, what a difference. I really liked the results. The branches used to be so high up in the sky, you would need a tall ladder to get up there, but the weight of the fruit caused the branches to bend way down to where you can reach the fruit, and now that the fruit are gone the branches have stayed bent in a nice arch shape. I think the benefit will be that they will stay bent there next year making it easy to reach the fruit without needing a really tall ladder.
But yeah, the persimmons can get weighed down to the ground. I would just let them go naturally to the ground and put something under the fruit (like cardboard, or wood chips) to keep them off of the soil.

I am in Wa state. My persimmon trees are 3 and 4 years old, no flowers so far. They grow so slow for me. I understand it takes 5 years for the tree to mature/ bare fruits.

Oops, last Spring I dumped several wheelbarrow loads of sheep manure on our full grown persimmon trees. Lots of nitrogen. Anyways still plenty of persimmons this fall.

Thank you for your work, I wish more people grew fruit trees and every other beneficial "Plant" as well. We are made to care for this earth, but few of US do. If we all grew beneficial plants, we would be less dependent on the corporations, from foods to medicines. We should be tending to nature, as she tends to us. We should all be doing this, making the earth back into the garden that we have all but destroyed.

Supreme, your persimmon trees look great, especially the large one! I also thought of Leadfarmer73 and the devastation to his beloved "Queen B" Bonita.
Since Lead had Bonita, have you named your large persimmon? How about Raquel since you and Lady Supreme went to the Hard Rock after planting it. Just a thought.

Loving the planting around the trees we tried it two years ago with cayenne peppers and squash...it works also helps keep both tree and plants watered because you have to water the vegetables
