I’ve been newly diagnosed with ALS. I have, over two years, noticed that I have multiple periods each day that I’m not breathing. Once I’m aware that I’m essentially holding my breath involuntarily I have to consciously take a breath to get things started again. I do have complex central sleep apnea and OSA. I do use BiPap at night. Is daytime breath holding common in ALS?
