I am happy to praise this song... I am Tanzanian... was 14 years then living in Ghana between 2000 to 2005... this song one of my best of High Life in addition to Tom n Jerry Awaree...
@@mckfuture8678 You don't need to understand the words to appreciate a good melody. I am Ghanaian and I barely understand what they say. Yet this is one of my favorite songs!
This Armah Pino Great Highlife tune was originally composed and sang by Eddie Red Tettey and the Band was Lonely Lampty and The People's Highlife Band, a band that predates Ghana's Independence Republican status. Armah Pino's version is a cover of this beautiful lovely tune of ages past and thankfully Pino has brought it back to our present times of the 21st century and kept that lyrics, beats and tune intact. He deserves kudos for preserving what can conveniently be described as a precious heirloom of the grandies of great Ga highlife music!
Thanks for the history of this amazing song. I just did a little search and found that the original was released in 1964. Growing up in the 1960s and 70s, this song was a popular feature on GBC Radio (in the days of the rediffusion box. An incredible classic.
@DannyErskine The original composer is definitely entitled to royalties. I hope the right thing would be done so he benefits from his intellectual property rights.
@@DannyErskine where do you want to see the credit? Have you seen the original CD cover? Have you gone to check with the copyright office? People like you are reason why I decided not to put out anymore dying Ga songs. In the late 90’s do you know how much it cost to bring out such production (Accra to London with 21 musicians involved) with no one ready to support a Ga song. You called me on this issue and I gave all the information you needed but you still decided to come to this public space to put out this ridiculous statement. Even People who are not Ga(s) encourage me to do more Ga songs because they know I can do this to a world class level. You are here trying to pull me down - don’t worry I am human and I will die soon and die with all this great ideas then you will feel good.
Growing up I really love this song 💯 I had a crush on the Maria lady lol. Please take me back to the 90s, life was simple then. 2021 we're still enjoying this tune. Legend
I also used to live in Bubuashie around the Bishop cluster of schools , not very far from "control market" and my uncles would play this song at full blast in the house most weekends 😂😂
Indeed one of the greatest love songs in Ghana. It holds you spell bound and makes you want to stop everything else and listen to the song passionately to the end. Because great songs like this one never dies, the inability of our current artists to come out with breathtaking works like this hasn't been felt because the power of old great tunes still lingers on.
best Ghanaian love song ever written without a doubt, great and well composed lyrics. Instrumentals also perfect. Such great songs are hard to come by in this day and age. Big ups to you Mr. Amarh Pinto
i have been searching for this song for a very long time. This song is always played on radio but the presenters hardly give any information about the musician who sang the song. Anytime i tried searching on youtube or google it leads me to carlos santana's song with the same title. I just heard you granting an interview this morning on peacefm before i got here.
Great song! Am always in tears when listening to this song. Love is indeed a beautiful thing. And I pray everyone gets the opportunity to experience some. Bless up Armah Pino❤️🔥

You are absolutely correct. My uncle Eddie will be happy to see this comment. Eddie was very upset when no credit was given to him about this tack.
