Tell Steve that he did exactly the right thing when he had a mag failure, at night especially. As an aircraft mechanic for over 25 years, as well as a commercially rated pilot I advise NEVER leave the airport environment with something like that. I think some people think that you have too many options with two magnetos, kinda like having twin engines. If you have an engine problem, LAND, ASAP. The dual mag does have a factor of redundancy, but the engine will essentially not perform the way it's designed on one. The timing is off because you only have one flame front moving across the combustion chamber instead of two. Kuddos Steve for making, in my opinion, the only right decision.
Someone mentioned the Piper Lance. My dad had a ‘77 Lance when I was a teen. That was after having a 175, and then a 182. While the 182 was a good performer, the Lance was incredibly roomy and quiet in comparison. (Ohyeah, it was probably 15-20 kts faster and hauled more). The Lance is the hershy bar wing, the Saratoga would be the same plane with a tapered wing. You could probably find a decent early Saratoga that’s “affordable”. But if you really want to haul something in that airframe, stick with fixed gear and look at a Six. But I like Cessna too. And if was looking for good fixed gear single with some loading flexibility, I’d seriously look at the 206.
Hello again! Press and hold the A/P disengage button will silence it after one beep! I fly the Vulcanair P68TC twin-engine for work. It's a six seater with G950 (like G1000). MAX T/O WEIGHT: 4594 LB. BASIC EMPTY WEIGHT: ~3300 LB. Climbs at 700-1000 FPM. ~100 KIAS. 38"/2500 RPM. Cruises at 135 KTAS (32"/2200 RPM @ 5.000 FT. 20-22gph TOT) You'll get 145 KTAS with 34"/2300 rpm with 26-28 GPH TOT). It flies like a C182, really easy to fly, has a very wide C.G envelope, and great view for the passengers (high wing). Long and large tail enables this airplane to land with high crosswind component (20kt+). New price: €1.2M. Company I'm working for has a couple 2015 models for sale for around €800.000. Older models sells for around €200.000+. Go get your M.E.P class rating, it is rewarding! Pluss you'll get the extra security of two engines when flying over water, especially since you want to bring loved ones with you :D As always, thanks for sharing flying videos!
Friendly Skies Film why did it made you mad? Please make me know if missed something! I would've returned too. Lost a mag in a 150 once, the plane just couldn't climb no more, had to return, didn't declare an emergency tho, it just felt like it wasn't necessary.
As a perspective student pilot (I'm waiting for the ground school sessions to start next year), I've been binge watching your videos since I find them to be extremely educational for my future aviation life. This one included. Please keep it up!
I liked the Mechanic's retort to "why would you jump out of a perfectly good plane?" The Skydiver's retort is "have you seen the plane?" Most Skydivers are NOT pilots, and trust their Main/Reserve MUCH more than what they consider a 'one chance' airplane. 30-40 years ago, jump plane safety didn't get quite the attention it gets today. One operation I remember out in the boonies didn't have easy access to AvGas, so even before the STC was in effect for Auto Fuel a trip to the local gas station with a 55 gal. drum was normal for supplies. Figuring the main possible issue as vapor lock at altitude, the assumption was that if it ever DID happen the airplane was always in gliding distance of the airport if a restart didn't work. P.S. - flying lessons AFTER learning to Skydive are initially scary. No parachute for emergencies & flying too low to feel comfortable. Totally opposite the drummed in safety training of leaving IMMEDIATELY if the pilot says "GO" to get the weight out (once over 500' AGL). Pilot can deal with it, with a greatly reduced load, and if he can't he's got his OWN parachute for emergencies.
Wow! I didn't think my mag issue would be of much interest. I didn't tell Nick the whole story though. If you know KFRG, you can park for the whole day at the main terminal just with the cost of the $2.50 landing fee. You can not park overnight. Once I confirmed the issue, I got a taxi clearance to head to an FBO. Once there I waited almost an hour in line behind flight crews arranging hotel and car rental car arrangements. Being about 9 pm on Thanksgiving didn't help matters. By about 10pm or so I was able to arrange a one way car rental. I get on the road and at about 11pm I am stuck in gridlock traffic. Just the kind of thing owning a plane helps one avoid. I made it home to Boston around 3am! It was one long day for sure. Given it was a holiday weekend, the plane was not completed for a week plus.
Cherokee Six!!!! Just wanted to say love your channel. I’m a student pilot and will be setting for the written next week. I hope to pick up a Cherokee Six someday.
I enjoyed the PA46 Malibu Mirage, it is very easy to fly and navigate, and the Piper Matrix you were in this video is in the same family. Both are very expensive single engine aircraft. I think Piper's M600 is another outstanding single engine aircraft. I have never been in or flown one however, they are beautiful, a work of art in my humble opinion. Thank you very much for this video.
Engine seizure was probably condensation / moisture in the fuel lines due to being by the ocean. Happens by the shoreline to me all the time, especially if they were there when it was warm / humid and then took off at night. Bit of a sputter, then back online.
It's a Velocity XL-RG. Nice airplane, I'm not sure I like the concept of a pusher prop, though. I say that because of the aerodynamics of a pusher configuration.
13:06 This is an efficient plane and seems to be more room in it than a Bonanza. One piston engine is nice and economical compared to a twin. A twin needs to be able to carry the whole weight including the weight of a dead engine (when one engine quits). Singles are more efficient cos it doesn't have to carry an extra dead engine. So a twin nearly needs the same power as a single engine (on each engine). Twins have to be "overpowered' when both engines are running so it can still fly with one engine. This makes a twin less efficient on fuel with the extra power and weight of the big engines. Twins should be ultra slick so they can go as fast as possible when they have 600 hp just to carry 6 people.
I must have missed the comment, I'm only half way through the video. But, one mag and an ElectroAir ignition system would be installed in whatever airplane I bought. I agree with Steve's decision though to turn around and go back. Lose a mag, and the other one is to get you to the airport, the nearest airport where you can get service.
During preflight run-up in a Cirrus while in the FL Keys, my L magneto failed. I cancelled IFR clearance and taxied back. No bigs, stayed an extra day in Paradise while the bird was being fixed. Knocking anyone who decides to exercise good pilot-judgement by returning to land after equipment failure in the interest of safety... is a fool! Great show, FSF! Consider a C182 which has good payload and long XC ability. If a low-wing is your thing, a young G3 or G2 Cirrus could work. They're quite comfy on the long haul and yes, no manual trim. BRS is a plus too.
Man, I love this. Owning much less being able to fly a plane is just too cool. I'll just have to appreciate vids like these. I get my fix by flying FPV quadcopters. Woohoo! Nice vid and thanks!
Have you considered the Comanche? I own a 250, 1200lbs useful load with the tip tanks STC. It's a true 4 person, full fuel airplane that will do an easy 145-150kt.
Hey Nick, how about a Chereokee Six or a Mooney M20. I did hear you mention you're not a fan of Cessna's electric flap actuation but you should look at a 182
@@FriendlySkiesFilm I am curious. Did you have to go through any special certifications or waiver for your glasses? I am wanting to start working on my pilots license and want to make sure my glasses are not going to disqualify me or limit me on when I am allowed to fly.
If you're in the US, it will cause you zero extra difficulties. I don't think it's an issue anywhere else, either. The medical examiner will make you read the standard eye chart with and without glasses. If you can't pass (or even see the chart on the wall, in my case) without glasses, your license will read, "must wear corrective lenses" under limitations. This is often not even considered a "real" limitation by insurance companies, whom include a line like, "list all limitations on certificate, not including corrective lenses." Should be a piece of cake! I hope that helps :)
Friendly Skies Film Absolutely agree with Brenda! I follow a lot of aviation channels that are really good, and FSF is always up there with the best, while still being so... cozy :-), as well as being informative and fun. This was no exception, a pleasant and informative flight. I was kinda hoping for a walk-around and perhaps a more in-depth presentation of this beautiful machine, but hey, you can't always get what you want. :-) (And I'm _not_ complaining.)
Friendly Skies Film Thank you so much..but why don't you aivial husky? Or sr22??if i am saying that right but what ever you choose has to be up to you..just don't be in a big hurry either my opinion yes I'M probably no help either.
This an awesome plane. I actually got the opportunity to see this aircraft parked in the hanger of my flight school in KISP. Not this exact one but the same model and inside is a really beauty! I finally got my Private Pilot license and I've been wondering if you would like to meet at KIJD soon. I'm planning on saving up some money to buy myself into a nice Cessna 172F! I fly out of KISP and the aircraft I'm looking to partially own is conveniently parked at my home airport! Please let me know we'll keep in touch!
Hey nick, have ya thought about a Piper Comanche? You could even get a twin engine if you feel like it for when you are over water. I could also see you in a 182T
We'll see you back in the 1950's, then... Just one of the sacrifices we pay for the ease modern photography. Perhaps someday soon. I know there are a few companies working on selectable solutions.
I was leaning towards a Dakota, good weight and price. a fixed gear Saratoga you can get pretty inexpensive and insurance is cheaper than ones with retractable gear. A Cessna 182 is nice weight and price. Im personally looking at a Cirrus SR-22, great weight and designs but not cheap
Mooney M20F you can pick up a nice one for the cost a mid level pick up truck, around 1100lbs useful, 52-56 gal of fuel depending on the year gives you a real nice payload and at 145-150 ktas depending what speed mods it may already have oh and its Fuel Injected 200 horse all on a little more fuel than a warrior
I like the mag story and I agree with others here. You wouldn't buy an aircraft without redundant systems, so why would you fly with a redundant system not complete and working. I agree with your decision completely. Great video !
Fantastic video, Nick. I just got back from a trip flying a Piper Arrow from Anchorage to Houston Texas through Canada. It was a trip! I'd love to have a chat with you about it sometime and some of the challenges we faced. As far as your next airplane, that's really a question of mission. Speed, payload, range. You can have two of those three unless you spend a good chunk of change. Lol A good step up is a Mooney M20C, D, or E model. They're short body but they carry alot of weight. The J model is a bit more expensive, but it's faster and the backseat is MUCH more comfortable. Feel free to contact me about your next airplane or anything else. I'd love to have a chat.
Agh! What a fun trip! I've always enjoyed your commentary, so feel free to shoot me an email with anything on your mind. We're getting ready for a big project for which we're gathering a panel of industry professionals, so perhaps you would be interested in that as well.
Another great video! Enjoyed it! What do you think about a piper lance? If you are OK with a Little age and a four place maybe a piper to 235 or even like a Comanche 250? In my opinion I have worked on all three of those and are great reliable and somewhat affordable aircraft maybe for your next step up? The Comanche flies nice and true and steady and pretty good performance but there are a few 80s on it that require some maintenance every few years🤔.. on a sidenote I help manage a small FPO and would be interested in seeing a video on reviews of different types of self propelled aircraft towing bars... i've used some of the smalls four stroke engine with the single wheel. They work pretty good but can be a little cumbersome.. I saw this guy had one of those 18 V power drill looking tows . I would be interested on hearing or watching on how well those were compared to the gas powered ones..,
Commanche is a nice flying plane but has a lot of ADs (airworthiness directives) to check on each & every year. I'd look at an older Bonanza. The 35s (V-tails) usually sell at a small discount & they're wonderfully well-balanced on the flight controls & ruggedly constructed.
Significantly less useful load than the Warrior. Add 1 passenger & a small overnight bag and you'll have to offload fuel -- shortening your range. They're fast & beautiful but limited load. Also the company support for this no-longer-produced model is limited (they're far more interest in their new Mako model). Sold mine for that reason...no regrets.
How do you record your Audio? Im halfway through my PPL and have just started using a gopro to record my flights and would like to record my audio as well.
So FSF, looking to get my ga in a couple years (need both time and money ATM), what would you recommend for a budget option that would be able to carry 4, on mostly 1/2 -3 hour trips? I'm looking at the cesna caravan, but pretty open, even to potentially a self built.
You may also consider a Grumman Tiger, a 180hp 4 seater w about the same useful load. Cruise at 130-140 KTAS on 6-8 gal/hr depending on how you lean. Agile, clean aircraft that is fun to fly.
West Palm Beach area. Looking to close on a house in the next month or so, then move full time when the snow starts suffocating the northeast in February.
Ah, I probably went to Georgia Tech in a parallel universe. I would be very interested in the contact, just for the sake of developing my network. This is the first time I'm going I say this on the internet, so it's very fitting that it should be to you, such a long time viewer... It would appear at this time that we're going to incorporate ACAP Inc. and pursue a contract to start our aerospace research company, developing fixed wing UAV's faster than anyone else has managed to do. Kind of the SpaceX of aviation, if you will. I'm very excited.
what is it that prevents a pilot from declaring an emergency? if a situation occurs that makes you "NEED" to get on the ground, why NOT! he certainly felt it was an urgent need. good video, thanks
It was about 8pm on Thanksgiving night. I was the only one on the ground or in the air at that time so I knew it would be easy enough to return. The tower told me I was cleared to land on any runway. Same result as as if I declared one. If he started vectoring me around I would have.
I heard the Reno Air Races were a big disappointment due to very few planes racing. The insurance costs were prohibitive and that defined the turnout. Do some research first before you decided to make the trip, unless there is another reason to travel west, and that is just an additional stopover. Like the plane!
Im the owner of a Rockwell Commander 114. Thats the airplane you should go for if you want that extra load and don't care about speed. It's not very slow either, does 140 KIAS in cruise. Very comfortable and roomy. You can fit 4 adults with full fuel and some baggage. its also very fun to fly :)
Why on earth would you takeoff on one mag period let alone at night? Isn't that why you do a mag check so you can find a problem before you takeoff? I don't think I'd fly with whomever said it's okay to takeoff on one mag. I had a mag issue in my 182RG once (on the ground luckily). It started out with trouble hot starting (fuel injected) and eventually it wouldn't start at all. I asked the mechanic why both mags were going bad at the same time and he told me when one goes bad the other has to work harder and therefor it goes bad quicker.
Watch your videos all of the time. Working on my PPL and I'm doing it in a PA-24-180. Come down and check it out. I would be excited to fly you. Hope to have my cert by 1/18. My wife is from PBI and a Comanche will handle all of your island hopping.
Yoshi 7567 - Roblox and More yeah I agree with the other guy. A bit curious cause I'm almost to that point and if you want some tips I can shoot what I know.
Yoshi 7567 - Roblox and More yeah I agree with the other guy. A bit curious cause I'm almost to there and if you want some tips I can shoot what I know.
Look at the robin Dr400s, beautiful aircraft, no bigger than you're warrior, but they're faster, typically more useful loads for comparable engine sizes, and more efficient.
No worries, they do need to be hangered really mind, since they are a wooden construction. They do also have a Dr401, which is a significantly more modern variant, don't know so much about it though.
Seriously ? Overly cautious ? Nonsense, you made the SMART decision. Every responsible pilot knows flying is serious business and can be very unforgiving if performed in a reckless manner. I'm no hero and will err on the side of caution every time. I'm with you 100%. Nice airplane by the way !
I had a scary incident as a brand spanking new private pilot, less than 50 hours. I did my runup, checked the mags and when I switched it to "R" the engine shut off. I did this a couple times and for some reason I thought the ignition switch was messed up. Flew 20 mins (this was a fuel stop for cheap gas before heading home) where I later found out I was on one mag. Very scary in hindsight, but thankfully I was able to learn something from it.
What would have been great was if you showed at least a shot of the whole cabin. I was wondering the whole time what the seat designs were in the back.
c182 over a bonanza?...… are you kidding me lol. Bonanza is way way faster and more powerful plus its way wayyyy sexier especially air to air and sitting on the ramp. the older ones have a great useful load. mine is 1280 lbs. if I get tip tanks its up to 1400. now cirrus v bonanza is a more realistic debate. Not to mention the bonanzas short field and rough field performance is pretty great. … not a 182 but close.
He just came from a Mooney...two folks up front & you'd be rubbing shoulders. Feet stick far forward as the cabin roof is low... With that frame of reference, this is quite roomy.
I trained in Warriors and moved up to a Grumman Tiger. Faster, more useful load, very light control feel , and incredible over the nose visibility. Go fly one. You will never fly a Piper again!
Aircraft shown briefly at 12:28 is a Velocity XL-5, which would be awesome to see some videos on.
I'm VERY interested in bringing that to you guys.
I was wondering what that was.
My player didn't make stopping there easy.
A little attempt at subliminal messaging
I ended up using 0.25x speed to pause it at the right time. I then just Googled the tail number to find the type.
Hehe good detective work :)

Climbs at 700-1000 FPM. ~100 KIAS. 38"/2500 RPM.

I was convinced until you got to the price! XD That would be an EXCELLENT twin for the Caribbean, though, with so much forward window space.
Love his response regarding the 2nd mag. Smart pilot, this Steve guy.
Awesome bird! I'd like to get airborne in a machine like this, someday :). And Steve made the right choice with that mag torned up, u never know...
Right!? That made me so mad.

Nah, it made me mad that other people called him a p*ssy for turning back. That's such a no-brainer!
Friendly Skies Film Ahh i got you! Yeah for sure!
When you have two mags, you have one. When you have one mag, you have none.

same goes for me. binge watching while waiting 12 months for my life insurance clause to kick in.

Benny Löfgren your welcome still amazing..
We can probably do that for you :)
Friendly Skies Film Thank you so much..but why don't you aivial husky? Or sr22??if i am saying that right but what ever you choose has to be up to you..just don't be in a big hurry either my opinion yes I'M probably no help either.
Nice flight guys lovely plane thanks
Then you have retracting gear, and tip tanks in a Comanche.
Such a relaxing video to watch!
Go for the Belanca Super Viking. Its a great plane and easy to work on.
If you can find an A&P who knows how to maintain fabric control surfaces & wood wings & you can ensure it's always hangared.
great video and what a wonderful plane
Glad you enjoyed :)
Love these videos. Thanks, FS.
Can't wait to find a camera without a rolling shutter, though.
We'll see you back in the 1950's, then... Just one of the sacrifices we pay for the ease modern photography. Perhaps someday soon. I know there are a few companies working on selectable solutions.
It took us in 1968 Mooney M20c 12 hours and a life and death situation.
Well put!
Have you considered a RV 10 great plane if you have Tim to build
Great video and i was amazed to hear criticism on not flying with one mag you just don't do it in my opinion thank you I enjoyed watching this
Nice music in back ground. Interesting video.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Piper Archer would be my suggestion.
I would be interested on hearing or watching on how well those were compared to the gas powered ones..,
Good suggestion. We're going to do a tour of his plane, so we'll get back to you then! :)
Great thanks!
Commanche is a nice flying plane but has a lot of ADs (airworthiness directives) to check on each & every year. I'd look at an older Bonanza. The 35s (V-tails) usually sell at a small discount & they're wonderfully well-balanced on the flight controls & ruggedly constructed.
Get a Lanceair 360! Super fast and great fuel burn. Also what was the song you used in the start?
I was just on their website last night, actually... uhh, uhh... I'll put the name in the description when I'm at my computer later.
Cool! thanks!
Significantly less useful load than the Warrior. Add 1 passenger & a small overnight bag and you'll have to offload fuel -- shortening your range. They're fast & beautiful but limited load. Also the company support for this no-longer-produced model is limited (they're far more interest in their new Mako model). Sold mine for that reason...no regrets.
love your vids.. thanks so much
Should the front window be bigger? Or is it small because of all the instruments?
The glare shield is kind of high but it downslopes considerably. Visibility is good up front but from the back it looks limited
That was one thing I was really interested in experiencing with this aircraft! I have to say that it didn't feel too weird, actually.
I suggest that you get an RV7... But I am biased... Nice videos! Keep up the great work!
How do you record your Audio? Im halfway through my PPL and have just started using a gopro to record my flights and would like to record my audio as well.
There's a video about that on my channel, see if you can find it. Sorry, I'm on my phone, or I would link :P
So FSF, looking to get my ga in a couple years (need both time and money ATM), what would you recommend for a budget option that would be able to carry 4, on mostly 1/2 -3 hour trips? I'm looking at the cesna caravan, but pretty open, even to potentially a self built.
Sounds like you're in the market for a Warrior too. The caravan is... not conducive to a smaller budget, with an operating cost just over $1,000/hr.
You may also consider a Grumman Tiger, a 180hp 4 seater w about the same useful load. Cruise at 130-140 KTAS on 6-8 gal/hr depending on how you lean. Agile, clean aircraft that is fun to fly.
Cessna 182 is perfect for that as well.
The piper test pilots can do some impressive stuff in these birds back in Vero!
Nice plane. Enjoy.
What year is the Matrix in this video?
Sorry, I don't recall :-/ I'll let you know next time I'm talking to Steve.
2008
Thanks, Steve :)
Where in FL you looking to go...how soon?
West Palm Beach area. Looking to close on a house in the next month or so, then move full time when the snow starts suffocating the northeast in February.
nice do you already have a research job lined up? btw my neighbor works for Georgia Tech Research Institute that would be a good fit for you
You should join Civil Air Patrol down there...we certainly have been helpful after the last storm
I've considered that! I'm definitely going to be involved with relief efforts and charities, though.
what is it that prevents a pilot from declaring an emergency? if a situation occurs that makes you "NEED" to get on the ground, why NOT! he certainly felt it was an urgent need. good video, thanks
It was about 8pm on Thanksgiving night. I was the only one on the ground or in the air at that time so I knew it would be easy enough to return. The tower told me I was cleared to land on any runway. Same result as as if I declared one. If he started vectoring me around I would have.
What did "starts with a 'p' mean in the context of declaring an emergency?
They were calling him a p*ssy for not flying home on one magneto, which is just upsetting...
I heard the Reno Air Races were a big disappointment due to very few planes racing. The insurance costs were prohibitive and that defined the turnout. Do some research first before you decided to make the trip, unless there is another reason to travel west, and that is just an additional stopover. Like the plane!
Almost every destination is just an excuse for me to fly, so there is no disappointment. It is always all about just being aloft.
Haha I almost said the same thing :)
Had both a 114 and a 114B previously. Great planes but again too slow for 1100nm trips for me
drsmsaracino well I live in israel so I rarely go that far ;)
It’s actually too big of an airplane for a country so small.
Haven't flown one yet, but enjoy the design of that plane very much.
If you can afford one, either a 114TC or 115TC would be my choice. There's a 115TC on Controller right now for $240K. Will need a new transponder.
Had a rough day until i watched this great uploud as alwas
Yay! Always glad when I can do that :)
Watch your videos all of the time. Working on my PPL and I'm doing it in a PA-24-180. Come down and check it out. I would be excited to fly you. Hope to have my cert by 1/18. My wife is from PBI and a Comanche will handle all of your island hopping.
If you want to stick with the Cherokee family, I would go for a Cherokee 235 or a Dakota.
Mike Carrier Fellas, I want to go.
Agreed
Beautiful plane it suits a junior pilot that's looking for a job with an airline. My dream job is to be a pilot!
Absolutely! Especially the turbine version.
What have you done to prepare to be a pilot?
Yoshi 7567 - Roblox and More yeah I agree with the other guy. A bit curious cause I'm almost to that point and if you want some tips I can shoot what I know.
Yoshi 7567 - Roblox and More yeah I agree with the other guy. A bit curious cause I'm almost to there and if you want some tips I can shoot what I know.
You should get a 182
Really is a versatile airplane. It's a jack of all trades but a master at none.
Look at the robin Dr400s, beautiful aircraft, no bigger than you're warrior, but they're faster, typically more useful loads for comparable engine sizes, and more efficient.
Googling it right now! Thanks!
No worries, they do need to be hangered really mind, since they are a wooden construction. They do also have a Dr401, which is a significantly more modern variant, don't know so much about it though.
miss having new video from you! whats the deal?
Woah, when did you get that beauty?! I already love it.
Oh wait it's not yours.... Aawww.... I'm going to easement....
$$235,000 ?
Lol yeah, a little above my pay grade for now :P
Seriously ? Overly cautious ? Nonsense, you made the SMART decision. Every responsible pilot knows flying is serious business and can be very unforgiving if performed in a reckless manner. I'm no hero and will err on the side of caution every time. I'm with you 100%. Nice airplane by the way !
I love this plane so much. I just want to have two engines so that I can confidently fly over large bodies of water.
Piper Navajo for you then, mate :)
Look at Cherokee Six 300, Lance or Saratoga
I had a scary incident as a brand spanking new private pilot, less than 50 hours. I did my runup, checked the mags and when I switched it to "R" the engine shut off. I did this a couple times and for some reason I thought the ignition switch was messed up. Flew 20 mins (this was a fuel stop for cheap gas before heading home) where I later found out I was on one mag. Very scary in hindsight, but thankfully I was able to learn something from it.
Bonanza A36 with club seating
What would have been great was if you showed at least a shot of the whole cabin. I was wondering the whole time what the seat designs were in the back.
We're going to do that for you :)
Friendly Skies Film Sweet! Thanks!
182 with BRS
What about a Saratoga
Hmm. I would definitely go six seats before something like the Piper Arrow.
Just learn more than JFK Jr did about his Saratoga.
Step up to a Bonanza. Tip tanks and rear barn doors and you'll never look back.
Nick, you're making me thirsty, please bring chapstick next time.
What kind of engine does the Matrix have?
350hp, I think, so IO-550? Maybe Steve will jump in and inform us.
Lycoming T-IO540-ae2a
flying on a single mag is just waiting for an engine failure, crazy!
You could probably pick up a cessna 402 cheap in a couple of years as Cape Air replaces their fleet with the Tecnam 2012.
Is that really in the plan!? I love that plane. Of course, they would have 100,000+ hrs on them, and burn tons of fuel, but I could own N121PB!! :D
C210
Arrow is next.
Cessna 182 or beechcraft bonanza
Collin Gregory 182
182
c182 over a bonanza?...… are you kidding me lol.
Looks like you're already thinking Velocity.
Now where did you get an idea like that? ;)
A single frame told me...
Lol how'd that get in there ;)
You need a Dakota!
Comanche 250 for you
Really wouldnt call it roomy. Esp the cockpit.
Cherokee Six
Get a Cessna 210
Buy a Piper Dakota or better a Turbo Dakota with a automatic waste gate
Honestly, would you fly with these two guys?
....and why not?
I'd fly with them any day! Why not?
Benny Löfgren - it figures! That why GA accidents are on the rise in the US with pilot error as the number one factor!
Actually...

first :) 40 mins late
First
Yay :) God you guys get here half a second after I post!
