16:10 actually, i study chinese and standard chinese is called 普通话（putonhua). being so big, China has lots of dialect and different pronunciation and so they all study the standard chinese. basically standard chinese, is the chinese that everyone knows and that us, foreign, study, to make communication easier. hope this help ps. this is based on what our teacher told us, sorry if it isn't accurate
