Second favourite for me. Pain of Salvation just edge it but only just and depends on my mood. Got all of both bands, loving this album and all the others especially since Little Lucid Moments. So good I couldn't pick a favourite.
Thanks Notes for constantly bigging up this band. I live in UK and no one seems to know them. Their discography is so varied possibly one of the most eclectic bands this century. I don’t have this album yet but very excited hearing your review that it is close to a masterpiece. I loved Crucible and agree The Tower didn’t reach those giddy heights you always look for. Cheers
I cannot wait to get this album. Like you, I've been a loyal fan since The Death Defying Unicorn, and have collected almost all of their studio and live albums. Great to hear that it's 'odd' - just what we want from Motorpsycho!
I have recently acquired this one on vinyl, and boy is this a fantastic album! Of course, N.O.X outshines everything on here, but also tracks like the opener or "Like Chrome" show a strong return of Motorpsycho as writers of more concise rock tracks. Hope you'll get around to their latest 'Kingdom of Oblivion'...
With The tower and The Crucible Motorpsycho entered their prog renaissance and continued it on the new album The all is one, the band delivers powerful prog sounds with brilliant guitar, bass and beautiful keyboards mostly mellotron. The album kicks off with a self titled track that bursts with power and fantastic mellotron parts. N.O.X.', a 42-minute epic shows that this band is at the top of their game. The all is one has it all from hard and heavy to beautifully written acoustic and classical parts. Third and final chapter in the "Gullvåg" trilogy is a must have If you like mix of eclectic, symphonyc, heavy, space and psych with really interesting lyrics focusing on moral, political and other issues we face today.
It's amazing when a band is 30 years in the carrer and they manage to make an album that is within the top 5. Espacially with that many releases. The all is one is brilliant.
Of course the N.O.X. Suite outshines it all. But the hidden gem of this album to me definitely is: The Dowser. but okay, i´m even a strange kind of a Motorpsycho fan, having "It´s a love cult" from 2002 as one of my favourite albums.
Phanerotyme, 2001, is such a feel good album
With each release, Motorpsycho pushes boundaries and reminds me why they're my favorite band.
Same here!

The N.O.X. suite is absolutely mind-blowing
Agreed this blew me away completely

NOX II Ouroboros is one of my all time favourites, the ending is just sublime. Like you said, tapping into the divine.
Brilliant album, yet again. Probably my second favourite band, next to Pain of Salvation. King Crimson drop down to third 😁

motorpsycho one of the best live bands ever...
Only just discovered this band. This album is hypnotic, intoxicating, intriguing, fascinating and basically, wonderful !
If this man gives it Masterpiece then I'll have to buy it. We'll see.
Demon Box (1993) is their best. Greetings from Norway!

Good album but i find it hard to digest! For me, N.O.X. suite: 9/10 and the rest 8/10...
