At first thinking of this build I thought pathfinder would be better. But now with frenzy/barrage deadeye is the clear choice since you can constantly get frenzy and also get a buff to frenzy on passive tree. Right now I’ve been using your build with a minor adjustment, leveling into frenzy + adding multiple barrage gems. Constant rapid fire fun no cooldown :)

Oh thats a good point I didnt catch that, I think its fine to leave it like that as its meant to be the 6th link for barrage which currently costs ~200 ex to even do. By the point someone gets a 6 link barrage id expect them to already have swapped to cold or to have the helmet and not need flame wall anymore. I wish moba had the option to leave notes on each of the gems for something like this

im stacking frenzy charges with darkray vector boots, and avidity and getting 55% movement speed, and one shotting boss's with 8 frenzy charges and barrage with a 300 pdps bow (level 73) with this set up, its actually kinda nuts lol Thanks for the build!
Can go into the passive tree and get +2x more base frenzy charges. Wouldn’t that be 6 charges total? How are you getting 8 though? The ascendency tree gives 50% bonus so you can shoot like 10 times in one barrage but idk how to actually get 8 charges.
@@domdexify you get 1 from darkray vector boots, you get a 4 from passive tree, and you get 3 from base, and im only taking avidity im not even taking thrilling chase yet (im also taking tailwind atm, only have 2 ascendancies, not sure if you would shoot like 13-14 gas arrows while taking thrilling chase too, have yet to test it
@@realparse ohhh I was missing a tree ! But yes. Taking thrilling chase you shoot double the amount of barrage. So that would be 8x2 16 times 🙃🙃🙃 I was missing the extra 2 on the passive skill tree. The boots are a little overkill though might be better to just get boots with better stats because well.. already taking up 2 slots with uniques with bad stats On the shoes you can also Vaal orb it to get 6% movement speed per stack.

My big concern with this build, and why I have avoided Gas Arrow, is the twitter post when they announced the initial (temporary) damage nerf to the skill: "In the future, we want to update it such that the potency of the Ignite or Detonator contributes to determining the damage of the Gas Cloud explosions, that way we would be able to avoid balancing around the simplest and most efficient way to apply Ignites." This would make both uniques incompatible with the build since you'd have an extremely low dmg ignite from them, and as you said, the detonators feel terrible. The only easily accessible high potency detonator would be Detonating Arrow, as Explosive Shot is lower potency, and other skills like high lvl Flame Wall have very high off-stat requirements. The other potential downside with using a detonator like Detonating Arrow would be if you then applied a weak ignite with any of your fire dmg and that blew up your gas cloud before you were able to finish the charge. I'm hoping they have realized this in their testing and are walking back that decision, but until they say otherwise, I'm expecting this to get nerfed into the ground.
This is a bluff and they wount do anything. There are much bigger concerns right now for things that need to be toned down. For sure they will eventually do something about this but it wount be any time soon. Even if they do anything, our backup plan is to simply swap to any of the other bow builds since they use exactly the same gear as us or we can swap to a crossbow and play gas grenade and explosive shot which feels the same, it just becomes a 2 button build. There is really nothing GGG can do about this as the crossbow version of this build only feels slightly worse and is just as strong.
@Alliee I'm just going with the backup plan now, lol. This is one of those annoying things in EA where we know they're planning something, but we don't know the details. It could turn out that the scaling with Detonating Arrow actually leads to higher damage than the current build to offset that it's a pain to use.
I have been following your gas builds... on my warbgringer and stormweaver 🤣 I have leveled them all on bow and I'm just trying to find goofy things to do with bow skills later on them and the swap to gas arrow on them is JUST as amazing. I'll probably try a chill shock spam set up with with more ele damage and all that exposure bonus on the bow sorc. And try to find something more physical to use on warbringer with all that instant armor break damage bonus and bonus armor explosions. I may even level titan gas arrow next to see what small passive stacking I can do for the build (see if I can find more move and attack speed or just more damage etc). I don't care if they won't be as good, I am having FUN. Also the damage from gas arrow swap is so great I am FOUR tiers of bow behind now on BOTH the sorc and warrior (a poorly rolled composite when I could have a zealot) in act 3 and I still don't need to upgrade. I could buy one and I just won't just to see how far it will carry itself!
The vast majority of items are global drops; there are only a very few targeted drops that only drop from certain bosses, and most of those are very late game. Anytime you are trying to get one specific unique, you can look that item up on one of the various poe2 wiki sites. Those sites will list if it is a targeted drop from a particular boss.
Thanks for the guide. I keep tossing up (and wasting money switching between) this and Lightning Arrow/Orb of Storms. What's the benefit of this build over the lightning arrow one players like Fubgun are running?
My Wind Dancer aura never appears at the top of the screen. I have "show aura icons" in the options turned on (Tailwind always shows up) but for some reason Wind Dancer never seems to activate, even if it's the only spirit gem I'm wearing. What gives?
Odd. Mine shows up. Do you have the icon for Wind Dancer in the upper left corner of your screen? You probably already know this, but to activate Wind Dancer, you have to right click the icon of it on your Skills Panel.
You can do the blink weapon swap tech but im personally not a fan. I was considering swapping to a staff with a lot of cast speed and +6 levels on it for the curse to be stronger but thats about it. Ive been meaning to try it out and see how it feels and ill try to get around to it today
I dont understand the part of needing leech on rings, it leeches of physical damage which we dont have, cuz gas arrow explosion damage is fully converted to fire (or mostly cold and bit of fire).
The actual impact of your arrow hitting a monster always has a physical damage component to it. You just need to make sure that instead of shooting your gas arrow NEXT to a mob, that you actually HIT the mob with the arrow itself. Try to hit as many monsters as possible with every arrow. That's where you get your leech from, as you are correct about the explosion itself having no physical damage to it. Since I just had my coffee, I'll give you the long version... Most Ranger skills work like this: 1. You get physical damage from the arrow itself hitting the monster. 2. Whatever skill you are using then looks at the physical damage of your bow (and possibly any elemental damage on your bow, depending on the skill), and then does the math shown on the skill to then do whatever effect/damage that skill does. Examples: 1. You shoot a Gas Arrow that doesn't directly hit a target. A gas cloud is formed that is based on the physical damage of your bow converted according to the math of Gas Arrow. 2. You shoot a Gas Arrow that DOES directly hit a target. The arrow itself will do direct physical damage based on the physical damage of your bow (this is the part that gets to leech mana and life). Next, a gas cloud is formed for the Gas Arrow skill, and again the gas cloud will be formed according to the math shown on the skill itself.
Ideally Wind Dancer as getting 20% on it is an incredible amount of extra defences as it gains 1 stage. After that, Herald of Ice for the cold build feels nice and gas arrow once you are ready to 6 link it
Its sadly most likely the only slution for pinnacle bosses. Im trying to find a better solution other than ring swapping but if we find nothing, thiefs torment is it

Sadly it happens to pretty much every build any creator does now adays, it used to be called the mathil effect and most people still refer to it like that. Prices will stabilize and come down after a few hours/tomorrow and it usually doesnt stay too high.
Pathfinder would be substantually better for any generic poison build youd want to play usually. Deadeye can be played on a poison build where it makes sense and it would be tankier, and it could possibly do more dps in certain scenarios. Id say stick to PF in most cases though

Nope, with the helmet flamewall is obselete unless youd prefer to not use the helmet in favor of a rare one with better stats. Passive gems are in the prio order yes, I totally forgot to say that in the video itself
Leveling wise sorc is a joke. We're going to tie all your damage into standing in one small area while everything jumps on you and you have no defenses. Ugh I'm going through it again trying to make a chrono support character. Lightning arrow was so much smoother
And then skip to part 7 and be upset it doesnt explain a basic interaciton in the build or how 4 items in the build that have been in it for over a week work? Great idea :3

If you amount your amulet with a skull and then change mind can you put new shards in and swap skills on it or is your amulet locked in and bricked with whatever skill you choose

Just use Solar Orb with Fire Exposure support. It has 100% change to ignite close enemies and it does hit, so i can apply exposure.

Where do I farm for the Radiant Grief Helmet?
It is a global drop and cant really be farmed. Its just pure rng which is why you pretty much have to buy it or play without it if you are SSF

The frenzy charges come from Combat Frenzy once you are swapped over to the cold build only.

The only real difference is adding in Barrage to the switchover from lightning arrow to gas arrow, but that has been updated in the Mobilytics link.

Poison concoction is nuts after the patch. Should try it instead. Actual poison scale
allie you got scattershot twice in your leveling guide on mobalytics, once on lightning rod and then also on gas arrow
Sorry, there was just no good way to put it there, the thinking is you drop everything when you swap to Gas Arrow and put scatter on it

Would torment of thieves solve the mana issue on bosses? Just hot swapping it.

Really cant drop inspiration with 150 pDPS bow. Is that +300 pDPS breakpoint to keep mana up for clearing... So expensive those bows..

If you have a 99% or lower converted pair of gloves yes, otherwise you will have to start with the fire setup until you can afford them.
Does this scale enough to be able to do t17 bosses?
Yeha, my current strat is boss rushing and im killing bosses in 10-15 seconds with some pretty whatever gear on a ~10 div budget

Clear is great but single target dps is painful

My deadeye died in a3 hardcore lvl 43. SSF can be a bitch to fix resists in. We go agane
