this song was originally written by my Uncle Sidney Dicker from Nain, Nunatsiavut..very popular song now, and we love it very much..Uncle, thank you for this wonderful song, we will cherish it from our Hearts..NAKOMEK...
I just love this song ever since the first time I heard about three years ago. It's a nice change from some of the other singers we've heard from for years.
I think this is the Gregoire Boys from Natuashish - search for "Labradorimiut - Sons of Labrador - Gregoire Boys with Nain Drum Dancers, Innu Nikamu 2010" for video of them performing this song live. It's on their new CD, Puamun, too (see the video for more info) .
@@peter_jr91 that would be awesome. My email is ykphil@gmail.com I lived in Arviat a long time ago and loved every single day of my time there, miss those days with my hunting buddy the late Frank Nutarasungik who taught me so much, and Kono T. Matna!
Great song! I've been looking for the original version that was the theme for the CBC television show, so long ago, but haven't been able to find it 😟. Love from Tununirusiq ❤️
@tommydockjr The Inuit name of this song is Labradorimiut, or also, Inniugiamik Labradorimi (meaning: Son Of Labrador). Here it's performed by an Innu band, Gregoire Boys and is sung in all 3 languages of Labrador: Innu, Inuktitut and english! :)
I can't find it any where the original song sung by Sydney dicker (labradorimiut) does any one know where to find it? Would mean a lot to my one I grew up with.
