@@VisceralDisgust Aaaaahhhh! Yes, it is activated with Select when the power (energy) indicator reaches its maximum. Obviously it serves to inflict double the damage. ;-)

Are you really sure that you are playing on hard mode? because i have never seen a single monster countered your attacks
At the beginning of the video you can see for yourself that the selected mode is set to Hard. This is also the case in the other Wotm speedrun videos.
I'm pretty sure AIs can only use their specials if it's on hard mode, which they did several times throughout the run.

Zorgulon I find the weakest of all. Zorgulon has easily parried moves and his specials do little damage.
