I'm heading there this fall, thanks for the walk throughs. Or paddle throughs I should say.
I enjoyed your video very much. I have camped at that same campsite you are on. A really long time ago, maybe in 1974. I am also a big fan of Shug videos. I really enjoy your tour of the campsites on the lake. On the age of the pictographs, I am thinking 500 years ago, not 5,000 years ago.
I believe the helicopters you saw were fighting the Sundial Fire which was located in the Primitive Management Area just south of Iron Lake. It was contained to 8 acres in size. Many times they let them burn out but because of the dry conditions, they fought it hard and contained it. Pretty rare event to witness choppers in the BWCAW.
Interesting. I thought I might have been something like that. Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the info! Good thing we're finally getting some rain.
Great intro. Nice work. Thx!
Whoo Buddy! (Nice shirt)
Awesome! Beautiful area! I solo camped there in January. Whoo buddy, love the shirt! I have the same one. Thanks for sharing!!
All safe in sector 7!
You guys were rocking those Shug shirts...right on! It’s cool to see the area in the summer time, it’s definitely different than the winter landscape that I usually get to see. Lol. I’m digging the underwater shots too, sooo cool! Can’t wait for the next adventure.
Lol. Shug is awesome! We want to do a day trip Saturday. And video it of course. Any suggestions? You’re the man up here!
FlatlandersGo...what about lakes 1,2 and 3. Easy portages lots of campsites to explore but a lot of people. Maybe Angleworm area...one of Shugs favorite hiking areas. Lol. Longer portages though.
Yes! Lakes 1 ,2 and 3 are on our list. Maybe we will do that. Saving Angleworm until fall to hike. See ya this weekend if you’re working!
I’m off till Sunday...going water detecting! Have a GREAT paddle/hike on Saturday.
Send me pics of what you find. Good luck!
Whoooo buddy!
What was it that was squawking? I couldn’t catch it? Great video!
Alexandra Burke Thank you! The squawking came from a group of Crows
