I must make a correction to what I said in this interview this evening. The bodies of the deceased will be moved to mortuaries, not forensic labs where dna samples will be collected. These samples will then be sent to forensic labs for processing and comparison with contol dna samples collected in Botswana for either direct or familial matches as on a case by case basis. DIRCO will probably work with Botswana on repatriation of the deceased bodies to Botswana for burial.
It is very difficult to predict a time period for completion of the process given the current challenges facing forensic labs in both counties.
Again, condolences to the families of the victims of this tragic accident.
Best wishes to young Atlang Siako and May she find healing and support as required.
We at Cybareti Consulting Services are ready to assist if needed.
All of Botswana are in my thoughts and prayers tonight. Your people are my people, and I send love and hope for healing. Stay strong.
