I've had the standard 250 quilt in a cool metallic green since xmas 2019 I do hill top and woodland camps and this quilt is amazing the quality and feel of the material plus the workmanship is way above average...I got the 250 because I wanted one quilt I could use all year round you can layer up this with your excisting sleep system for winter -6°c once and also layer down (not wear as much clothing foill mats etc.)and then zip it fully open and you've got a nice silky throw over for the summer camps absolutely love it atb people 👍😀
thanks for a great review! The purple quilt looks absolutely bonkers. I have a Cumulus 350 Custom and I love it. If I will be getting another one, it is definitely going to be purple.
They look absolutely fantastic...a real step up from the Aegismax ones, I am sure they will keep you toasty for years! Just one thing - at 19g/m2 Toray Airtastic is clearly not "the lightest downproof fabric in the world". For example PHD use 18g/m2 Vertex in their "Delta-Race" bags ... sorry - just realised I commented on the wrong video!
Great video guys, thank you for the review. I use the IceFlame 20D and I am very happy with it. I've used it for a total of 30 nights and have been plenty warn enough when coupled with my exped down mat. Stay safe ✌️
I have the 450 extra wide, the down definitely migrates to the side if tossing and turning (which I do and is the reason i bought a quilt...) I overstuffed the footbox, down doesnt move there, no cold spot (could consider doing this for the whole quilt. They do sell a topquilt with a sewn footbox (taiga line for hammocks), but the footbox seems very narrow and i like the wideness and ability to open up the quilt Only negative I have to say is the migrating down to the sides. Nice if you can stay still, but then why get a quilt.
Did you get a discount for the quilts? I emailed cumulus in the beginning of July, asking about the price for the Quilt 250 with 900 FP standard (so no hydrophobic) down, outer and inner fabric Toray, in the standard dimensions. They said it would be 325 euro, and I would assume the extra width/lenght and the hydrophobic down would add to the price as well.

That’s quite a backdrop gentlemen.

Cumulus Taiga if you want a sewn footbox, it's a hammock top quilt :)

Nice review I'll have to look into these

I bought a Khibu quilt after selling the cumulus one. SO much better!
@@maarten2803 Could you tell more about your Khibu quilt? There is no reviews of their quilts.
i have cumulus 350, and i think it is only for 0 celsius minimum. I use it in -5 but cant sleep so much :)
Not interested in down products so I muted the video and was staring at the mountains in the background. Top beauty! :)
Thanks for the video, really good info. I was wondering if you were stung by import duty and VAT and if so how badly?
About +30% :( but I did email Cumulus and they removed the EU VAT
@@twofoolswalking2109 Perfect, thanks for getting back to me! Happy walking!
👍
Did you think of dark colors for drying faster..
No!

Nope paid full price, I think we actually paid in GBP and I misspoke in the video
@@twofoolswalking2109 that would make more sense!
they raised the price
would you still get the extra width again if you could do it again? Trying to figure if the standard width will do.. thanks!
Tough question, I think I would get the width so I can get a little more warmth by pushing the down on top
what rating for a quilt for sleeping in the Alps around 2500/3000 meters? thanks
Depends on you but for me this quilt is perfect for those conditions in summer
@@twofoolswalking2109 thanks
